He takes the perfect notes and puts them in the perfect spots, instead of just mindlessly filling up space with unnecessary shredding riffs like a Dimebag (RIP) or a Zakk Wylde. This is one of the many Tool songs that is a real beautiful piece of work that is not really appreciated enough I think.
