Been using spotify since it was in beta, think since 2009. Once you have this app you will stop downloading music and just sync it to your iphone, android, bb or nokia. Only gripe with Spotify is the lack of on-app EQ but you can download a plugin for desktops. Be Warned.. Offline sync'ing can eat away at your phones memory!

2) buy the songs/albums you really like on itunes so you can put on your ipod/phone

3) buy albums at garage sales for a buck each and put those on your ipod/phone

I just tried it. and I'm not too thrilled with it. You have to turn off a lot off stuff before it stops being annoying and tries to send almost everything to facebook.

On top of that it seemingly has fewer songs than Grooveshark. At least it could not find any Lumsk or Kidneythieves which was the first thing I accidentally tried to search for.

@JonJensen84 Spotify has around 15 million songs in it's library and adds 10 000 more per day but it it's still very possible that Grooveshark has more songs than that seeing as they allow users to upload songs without permission from the copyright holders while Spotify doesn't add anything to their library without permission.

It sounded to me that if you wanted unlimited streaming music, you have to get either the unlimited or premium options. like I said I am a cheapskate, I would much rather find a service that does something similar for free like audiogalaxy or the (so beta almost alpha) google music. If I misunderstood what Spotify can do I would love to stand corrected. My pockets don't run too deep.

@zdragonfly1974 no because you'll still have access to the desktop client which is 100% free. If you decide to renew your subscription, you can just re-sync the songs over again. it's pretty awesome!

I am new to spotify since it was released in the States. But let me tell you it is awesome. I have pretty much replaced iTunes with spotify. It's so much more faster and easier to use. It doesn't have everything but it does he a ton of content to choose from. I fully believe that this service is ahead of iTunes and they really need to play catch up. I love it.
