  • When he gets into the groove at the 6:00 mark, he reaches speeds I didn't think were possible for ANYONE. And he does it with such remarkable control, too. Amazing.

  • @ghb61 : I'm talking about Clapton, that is, not Jerry Portnoy.

  • That is one fine harp player. Who is he?

  • @theoriginalbadbob : Clapton's harp player is Jerry Portnoy, who also played on several of Muddy Waters' later albums. That's about all I know about him off the top of my head.

And that was one absolutely insane solo by Clapton!

  • @ghb61 Thanks. My favorite harp player is Mickey Raphael, who has been with Willie Nelson for decades. For quite a few years, now, Mickey gets a Standing-O at the START of one of his solos. I've seen Willie and Mickey several times, in person.

  • Have the pleasure to see EC live back in 95` "Nothing but the blues tour". Best blues concert I´ve ever seen before and after.

  • This song has the most compelling opening phrase of any blues song I've heard -- I'm certain no one can play it like Clapton can.

  • Ihave seen Eric do this song lots of times, this is the best version. Thanks for posting

  • clapton was amazing in this album and tour.

  • Anyone know how to get a tone like ECs on this track from "from the cradle"?

  • well first off you need gold lace sensors and then you need a 25 decibel mid boost and a soldano stack

  • get a nice fender tube amp, a tubescream Ts9 and use some reverb. have the Ts9's gain on about 3 oclock, the tone 12, and the volume wherever you want! hope that helps.

  • Awesome! Thanks.
