  • This really makes me wish mine was an ss.....my ls cobalt has potential with a larger engine than the ss but it has not one bit of performance in it

  • Haters be hatin.. I'd take a Cobalt over a Peon anyday just for looks alone! Oh wait, I have one! SS/TC! FTW!!

  • @Eightpack007

    Even after all of that...

    its still... a neon...

  • tjey were all 2.4 turbos u guys..03-05 the 03 wer e 215hp 04-05 are 230hp stock...just a minor upgrade to gain 15 hp...n this srt4 obviously dint know how to drive...ill race ya...im just about stock...and i walked a cobalt ss

  • and OPEL VECTRA i500 even we all know you have no clue what kind of car that is but i'mma help u out and let u know itz a GM. so damn does that make be an owner of 3 Cars ??? #hushpuppy

  • i know they 2.4L Turbo u dumbass actually i own a 03 cobra too Kiddo as u may have noticed. and please don't learn me shit about cars !! ;)

  • Facts are facts. SS/SC cobalts are slower than the nsrt4 in every way. That was just a shitty driver. They run high 13's stock when the driver knows what he's doing.

  • damn i went and took a shit got back and the race was only half way over, go get some real cars

BTW FWD 4 cly are not made for racing let alone drag racing get a clue

  • prolly the 03 SRT-4 2.0L Turbo Instead of the 04 Models with the 2.4L Turbo ;)

  • @GoNz0sg0ttaGuN I really hope you're kidding, if not you're a moron.

  • @goku1954 actually i am not ;) u the moron if u didn't know that the 03 models were 2.0L turbo's and not the 2.4L

  • @GoNz0sg0ttaGuN this guy is dumb as fuck

  • @GoNz0sg0ttaGuN ummm no? you fucking moron. the 03 are 2.4 turbos too.... with smaller injectors and no limited slip. don't talk about shit you don't know. own something besides a dodge stratus if you're going to pretend to know ANYTHING about cars.

  • @srt4slow yeah thats why I removed the comment, I pwned myself

  • Comment removed

  • SS's Rule!! Dont worry still got love for srt4s american tuner have to stick together ;)

  • I ran a 13.9 at 101 stock with my 03 with a set of slicks it ran 13.3 at 99 so that was a horrible run for the srt4 I have not seen many runs from ss so I can't speak for them

  • Cobalts look good as fuck! haha

  • that cobalt sure as hell didnt sound supercharged

  • @Borisp90210 Hahaha yeah I know... It's because I was completely stock and when we don't have an aftermarket cold air intake, we almost don't hear the supercharger whine.

  • @Borisp90210

The stock Cobalt SC Intake is designed to muffle the supercharger wine. Almost every aftermarket intake lets that wine out!

  • @insylem never said is wasnt supercharged, just said it doesnt sound like one.

  • @Borisp90210

I didn't mean to imply that you did. I was just stateing the most probably reason to why it did not sound supercharged.

  • that srt driver is a nub.....stock i ran a 14.0 in mine on shitty street tires....if it was me i would have smoked your cobalt.....just facts

  • @Eightpack007 His missed his 60' I know... just so you know, one of my friends has an SRT-4 and I raced him on this track. I won everytime but I'm not stock like I was anymore... but during that day, the best time he could do was a 14.5. He was averaging 14.6, he's a good driver... he shift faster than me in fact.

  • @Eightpack007 Then on the highway, I was in his car while he raced a friend with a Cobalt SS/SC with an intake. His SRT-4 is stock however. But the result was an even race except passed 160 mph he got the jump continuously and slowly when he was in 4th gear. Those SRT-4 are pretty strong in the high-end! Just saying by the way... this is what I lived! :) Without the intake, the srt-4 would have won all the way but not like a rocket...

  • @Eightpack007 yeah but SRT4 has horrible traction, the more power u have the more u spin, the slower your ET.....just facts bro

  • @Eightpack007 I wana see a video of that.

  • @Eightpack007 its still a neon lol

  • @Y34RZ3R02022 its still a cobalt, its still a lancer, its still an impreza, whatever dude get out of here with that retarded " its still a neon" bullshit.....since the last time i ran 14.0 I've gotten CAI, WGA, BOV, BFMIC, 650CC injects, 255 walbro, 3" O2 housing and full 3" exhaust, running E85 on 24psi with a slipping stock clutch on street tires spinning all of 1st and 2nd, i ran a 12.8 @ 110 and 111

  • srt has 230 whp. it's faster than the s/c ss. that's a pretty bad time for the srt driver. they can get 13.8 stock.

  • @srtallday / True they can get 13.8 ... but thats with a few " cheats ".

    1. Perfectly broken-in-engine

    2. Pro-driver

    3. Elevation <------ possibly the most important.

    4. Temp / Humidity <---- only because the stock intercooler on the srt4 will not keep the IAT temps as cool as the stock Heat Exchanger on the Cobalt will. ( if the cobalt ans art4 are bone stock )

    5. Track prep .... you know when C&D test cars they prep that track well.

Also the cobalt ss s/c is 90 lbs lighter.

  • nah not realy dude theyre both quick cars i dont kno how much the ss has but the srt4 has 215

  • @smallblocksupercharget

so if I were to tune my 01 accent 4 banger it would be ok? Even tho it's pointless and just an accent. Because that's the point u are trying to make, that 4 cylinder drivers tune for horsepower

  • @SVPrelude Yea but those cars are already built from the manufacturer to run big numbers and are already built right. The civics are stock as shit and it takes thousands to get them up to the power range of the srt or Balt. The civics are one of the worst cars to tune and it's pretty much a money pit.

  • 4-cylinders can make good torque, lots in fact. With just a few bolt-ons and a tune my Cobalt makes more torque than my LS1 Camaro which makes 356 ft/lbs wtq. My Cobalt makes 364 ft/lbs with less than half the engine. It's just companies like Honda who go for rpm based power that make nothing in the torque department.

  • @StormwatchDragon f'n Honda

  • @bluebeastsrt You are funny. I would rather drive my Hyundai rather than risk my life in those shitty wanna be ricers. You prob own a civic don't you? B16, aftermarket exhaust, gay looking. You seem like one of those fags with one. You prob fuck your car more than your boyfriend.

  • @patturlington... Ha those cars don't have enough torque to pull a blade of dead grass. You need torque to get going from the line. I don't care if you have 600hp on a car, you better have a decent amount of torque or ur going nowhere fast

  • @pkfloyd420 No traction gets you off the line. And if you knew anything about forced induction cars you'd know they usally have as much if not more torque than they have Horse power. Stick to thinks you know like X-box.

  • @pkfloyd420 or your torque can spin your tires through each gear to get you nowhere. You want the point at which your power band matches you traction limits or it means nothing. Low torque can compensate, or, you can buy a Subaru.

  • @pkfloyd420 you smoke waaaay to much, stfu because you sound like a 16 year old kid who's car knowledge is based on reading 3 issues of super chevy

  • exactly correct. just stop thinking that ur cars are the fastest on the block and people wouldnt laugh at you when you drive by. especially you honda drivers. its just too funny. i laugh at all you kids with the 4 inch exhaust tips. it makes my day :)

  • yeah hahaha I hate them too!! You are so right with their Honda motors!!! lol!! The thing is that... it's not their motor which is the king, IT IS THE WEIGHT of their whole tiny cardboard made car!!! I mean... comeon!!!! You think that your VTEC motor is insane and so powerfull when you car weight under 2000 pounds? LOL!!!!!!!!!!!! Place any V8 in these cars and they would FLY!

  • @firepinch Um unfortunately for you, they make torque monster tuner and fit all aspirations to them. They are called Subaru's, the added fact that they are AWD makes Muscle care weak to the fact that they are RWD. Drag tires on all four corners, it's going to be a hell of a race. I have much love for muscles but tuners are much more efficient although I can't get certain V8 motor sounds out of my head like the SRT8, LS1, Mustang GT, ect.

  • @downonit22 Yeah I know... Of course, if you take AWD cars, their 0-60 times are the best, they hook far more. Anyway, when we talk about car, this is all a question of preference. Is the 0-60 time the most important for you... or do you look only at the fact that an AWD car hooks better in order to choose the car you want to have. For me anyway, more than 300 whp for a FWD car begins to be useless. Despite that I have love for AWD cars, my next car will not be a Subaru or a Mitshubishi...

  • its just all these kids with their honda civics that think they have the fastest car on the block cause they have a turbo B16. my damn 4 wheler motor is just smaller than that shit. i mean what are they trying to do, re-create fast and the furious? i kno im bitching but money is better spent on a bigger motor. bigger motor, more horses and torque!

  • i drive an accent with a 1.6. i dont think its worth putting money into. all i have is a K&N for the mileage and a little power increase. but im not dropping turbos or porting it. i call my friends dumb for trying to swap a B16 to a civic that looks like shit. you could buy an exotic with all the money you kids spend. just get a god damn V-8 and tune it. then it'll be worth it

  • @pkfloyd420 Dude if you drive an Accent a civic is exotic to you.

  • yea you can get a lot of horse out of a 4 cylinder, but wheres the torque? thats one thing all you tuners dont look at... hundreds of horsepower, very little torque. a lot of tuner cars look good, but why put so much money to a little engine?

  • yeah I know what you mean :) VTEC engines don't have much torque at all... But for my Cobalt, for an example... thats not bad when you consider that I have almost the same torque than the number of hps. I dunno about the 1400 hp Cobalt however, I bet that it certainly doesnt have 1400 of torque but if I take mine for example, I have now with my smaller pulley around 280 whp and 250-260 lbs or torque. The SS/TC once tuned have more torque than HP!!! And they make their peak tq down low!!!

  • I have to add too... that just with a little $250 tune, justly, these Cobalt SS/TC are making 300 to 330whp, 310 to 340 lbs wt!!! I have a video of me justly vs a tuned SS/TC, where I'm surprisingely close of him! I'll maybe put some updated video in this profile this summer. The reason why I say I'm probably close to 280whp (not dynoed for me) with my new mods. The video I'm talking about is in another profile unfortunately... What you see here however is my car in its stock form.

  • @pkfloyd420 Torque Doesn't Win Races, It Pulls Stumps <3

  • @pkfloyd420 Really? No torque? Tons of neons are sitting at 300 hp with over 400 lbs feet of torque. These cars are torque monsters with the right build. You're talking about N/A cars like the hundah's who aren't built. As far as cost- it doesn't take much to make these cars fly- I need the four doors, I like the style and the uniqueness of the car.

  • @pkfloyd420 because its call tunning ad if you want to just get a big engine car and be fast from the dealer the go ahead but people tune what they want to tune its cal tuning

  • oh my god you frickin rice burners are annoying!! These cars are only 4 cylinders for god sakes. you can only get so much power out of an engine with pistons smaller than ur fist. yea they may wind out quicker which you think is great torque, but ur really just putting wear and tear on the engine. one, the srt4's suck ass, the cobalts are ok. upgrade to v6 or v8 and quit wasting money on turbos and fart cans for ur little tin cans. jesus!

  • Well... how to begin with that comment. Nice comment, but did you know dude that more than 1000 horsepower on a 4 cylinder is possible? Go type in google Gary Gardella and go click on the 3rd link where you see "GM Tuner Source". You will then see a Cobalt with a 1400 hp turbo 4 cylinders 2.16L engine. The guy did 7.15s @ 209 mph... not bad for a FWD car! Well, so you can see my point: 4 cylinders can be built very strong. But I see your point... I love too the 8 cylinders throaty sound! :)

  • nice surement deja vu et courser contre toi

  • I dont know about the turbo cobalts but I wasted a stock cobalt with my stepdads kia spectra. Yes it was a road race not a drag but he got up to about 90 then I put the pedal to the floor and lost him. Im guessing the ss's are a lot faster.

  • ya my jeep is probably faster than a base cobalt! lol that is what I drove in driver's ed and I swear it took 2 miles to get up to 70!

  • wow drivers ed? youll be in the pro circuit in no time lmfao!

  • @ojd1990 The LT is much faster than the LS.. The LT is quite suprising from 60 and up...

  • do you have a video of that? next time it happens you should definately get a vid maybe than i will believe you....

  • What Rpm's did you launch from?

  • 3000 RPM. But in order to have a succesfull launch at this RPM range, you will have to never go full throttle in your first gear, this wont work otherwise (with street tires). As you press your the gaz in first, press progressively slowly until you are almost at wide open throttle at the redline. Launching below 3000 RPM caused REALLY more wheel hops for me. Of course, now things are changed and I have a stage 2 and a torque dampener. Im gonna post some video soon, hoping for around 13.7s!

  • the cailber srt 4s are beast

  • no they arent.. its like a turbo minivan.. so bogus

  • thank you for know what your talkin bout

  • yea your an ass sorry dawg there shit

  • agreed

  • u r kidding right those things are gay who the hell would want that trash

  • i normally bash cobolt owners but 14.4 isent bad for stock

  • its cobalt not cobolt. and why would u bash cobalt owners, those cars are pretty quick. plus the new turbo cobalt is coming out in 2008 and will beat those srt4's....

  • not the new caliber srt-4s

  • i wouldnt say it wouldnt until its out, its not good to compare a car thats not out yet...by the way those caliber srt4's are heavy and ugly.

  • yea.. i test drove one at the dealership i work at.. they are a huge dissipointment.. they are about the same as a neon srt4 but a little quicker on response.. plus they are ugly as fuck.. with a non fuctional hood scoop

  • srt needs the driver mod, stock ss should have been spanked

  • I dunno, because how I see it is when we are BOTH in 2nd or in 3rd, the driver is not implied except if he doesn't floor totally the gaz. Well after the start, I could see him getting on me just a little. However during that day he was able to get a 14.3, maybe better, I didn't stay there the whole time during that day.

  • i've ran 13.7 stock on street tires, normally it's around 13.9's tho, the reaction time sucked you was tree'd and stock to stock srt-4 has better numbers even on the newest turbo one.

  • Anyway, pretty all others SRT-4 were doing 13s and some in the 12s during that day, they were moded of course. But moded or not I still respect them!

  • word, stage II cobalt's are a really good match for srt's though, but i just think the srt should have pulled, maybe something happend who knows
