Dr. Mercola: How much vitamin D3 should I take? I hear that where you live has an impact on the dosage. I live in Ontario, Canada. One other thing regarding vitamn D. I read about a study where participants actually saw cavities repair themselves on a grain-free diet supplemented with D3. The doctor involved was Dr. Mellanby. Are you familiar with this study?
1) In regards to testing, there's "1,25 Dihydroxy" and "25-Hydroxy" available... which one is best, and what result values are optimal?
2) There seems to be more labs available than just Quest Diagnostics, and Lab Corp. Anything wrong for example with ZRT or Direct Labs? For $80 they also test for Vit-D 25-OH. Direct Labs runs 1,25 Dihydroxy for $200 and the 25-Hydroxy for $70.
3) Is there an inherent disadvantage of sending blood thru the mail? Doesn't the plasma need to be kept cold?
