How many of those talking about how disrespectful Rev. Billy was in this video are New Yorkers? I'm gonna go ahead and say none.
What's disrespectful is our boys and girls and thousands of innocent Iraqis and Afghanis still dying over a *lie* perpetrated by 0our own government to goad us into becoming materialistic death machines for their amusement and profit.
A reminder of how the US came to economic collapse. Some quotes from 9/11:
"If we all join hands and go buy a new SUV, everything will be all right," - Bob McTeer, Dallas Fed governor
"What we dearly want is for Americans to spend like Americans to do the patriotic thing and go out and spend," - Bill McDonough, head of the New York Fed, October '01.
He's not intending to be disrespectful. He uses the Rev. Billy character as a vehicle for his activism and, in this case, all that he was requesting of those visiting ground zero was to transform whatever sorrow, grief, and anger into peace through the symbolic act of releasing paper-air planes, a symbol of the destruction on ground zero, with notes written on them onto the ground in order to transform that spirit of destruction into a spirit of hope and rebirth.
