I thought the thumbhole stocks were pre-emptive attempts by importers and distributors to make AKs look less "scary" to the hoplophobes and Feds.

My remark about Clinton had more to do with him pulling the plug on the Norinco 1911 .45s and other Norinco models, like their .22s---both now common in Canada.

I had one of the 1911s and liked it a lot. It was well made and dependable like a super clean SKS that I know about.

Iraq Vet nephew has it now and also likes it a lot.

those are not threads they are just machine marks in the end of the barrel, trust me the barrels on the mak-90 were not threaded, but most people misteak them for threads because they look like worn out threads.

This guy thinks 7.62x39 is only good to 100 AND recommended a mini-30? From what I 've heard and read, a mini-30 doesn't digest russian steel cased ammo very well which would pretty much defeat the purpose of owning a weapon in 7.62x39. Sure, 7.62x39 drops more than 5.45x39 or 5.56x45 but it does well out to 300 yards at least.

Wait a minute! You could buy a parts kit for 300 dollars that includes underfolder stock, maybe you should split the cost of a parts kit with someone and you keep stock? if I buy a parts kit for an ak74 you can have underfolder stock but I'm not sure if it will fit.

@MrSKSkill What sucks is if you have a threaded barrel then you need 6 USA made parts, you still need to add 3 with tapco trigger group and US made stock and grip.

@semiautoriflelover When i notice I'm starting to Catch the RedAss about all these gun laws we got and regulations, I remember how much it would suck to live in Cali or any of the other 5 commie states. I've been talking to the gunsmith for the movie "Battleship" and he's from Cali. He has a class 3 permit, and is responsible for over 3 million dollars in firearms(mainly full auto M4's, Barret .50, .338, mini guns), but he is having trouble getting a concealed carry permit..why do they dothis

@MrSKSkill You could order a parts kit for $250 and keep the underfolder stock and sell the rest or go half and half with someone. If I order a parts kit for a AK74 I can give you folder since I can't have them in NY. I will check out to see if they will work with your Norinco.

@semiautoriflelover The thing about Mini's accuracy is that they are sporadic. Some shoot good some shoot bad. I have a Mini 30 made in the 1990's that shoot as good or maybe better then some of the AK's I have. The recently made mini's were modified a bit and shoot better then the old ones from what I read.

Your welcome. You can buy a stock from iron wood for slant cut receiver and it looks pretty good actually. Yeah, the Chinese never put side scope mounts on their AK's.

@semiautoriflelover All Mak 90s were made from 1990-94. When ban kicked in these were all sold before it happened. China stopped importing any magazines and rifles after 94. Since that one had the rare markings i'm sure it was made in 90, you can tell with serial number, mine starts with 94 so mine was made in 1994.

@semiautoriflelover That crazy, so all the Chinese Norinco MAK-90's were only made in between 90 and 94?!! They must have some value since they're not imported any longer!

@MrSKSkill You will have to ask on a forum which underfolder you can buy for it and how it will fit, all AKs are different and many parts don't match.
