UN: Opium Farming Stable Despite Disease, Anti-Poppy Efforts

When you criminalize opium, only criminals grow opium. If it were legal, Americans would grow our own opium, and criminals wouldn't make money from it. We could leave Afghanistan, get rid of the tyrannical DEA and FDA bureaucracies and be a whole lot better off. Win-win for everyone. Will never happen.

what they dont tell you is a lot of opium farmers are factions in Afghanistan that are on our side and in fact we pay them to help fight against other factions who are terrorist like al queda. a lot of these farmers are normal good people like you and me and are even against terrorist. they are just putting food on the table for their families. heroin gets to the states, too bad, americans are overeducated about drugs yet they become addicted anyway.
