@vernonROX1 What I did for the second barthandelus fight, if that's the one you're stuck on, is use lightning, fang, and vanille, make sure fang and vanille have the sabotour spells that barthandelus isn't ammune to. Also have a few bangles or anklets that keep you from getting dazed on lightning so she can still heal while the other two are dazed. So just make sure your upgraded well and you time your attacks right and i'm sure you should win.
@vernonROX1 The area where you're at is an excellent grind area, it sucks, but if you have the right team built, it'll be a breeze. I used Lightning, Snow, and Sazh, (Commando, Sentinel, Synergist) and I was damn near unstoppable. Dont forget too, that he has multiple body spots, so take those out first. After Sazh buffed my team, I went Tri-Disaster to stagger, then went Cerberus to kill it in a matter of seconds. Only hard part is when he uses that move that almost 1 hit KO's.

I didn't like was the fighting system. Whatever happened to the old RPG take turns, not the enemies hit at the start and kill you with one hit. I also didn't like how that game said an enemy was weak to something when it did nearly nothing.

@beautifulpassion I didn't have her as Ravager. Other people did that for 2X damage and won. I can't go back because one large robot.(forgot the name) Gives buffs to the others and i'm dead the next second. I know i'm going to fail against Orphan and Barthandelus again. Orphan uses Merciless Judgement and instant death happens. Barthandelus just had to use Thanatosian Laughter and most likely I'll die from that.

@beautifulpassion for the last time I didn't upgrade Fang into a Ravager. My characters are on the max levels of their crystarium. I wish to improve,but where? The Gameplay in this Game was Bad to me. I mean I loved the Battle System but all u do is Walk in a Straight Path Fight monsters then see a Cutscene.Som Mini Games and Exploring would have been Goo dI hope they improve that the next game.But the Story and Music was amazing.
@SuperManga18 I agree with you 100%. The linearity was aggravating... Nomura once said XIII is "more linear" than other Final Fantasies due to it being the first PS3 title in the series (the technology and size of the game were huge). Ok, Nomura, I get that. But at least inject a few mini games. A 30+ hour game with NO variety in gameplay whatsoever (except for a one minute filler sequence with Hope in a robot). FFX was quite linear too, but it at least had mini games (blitzball was REALLY deep)

Is XIII good? im planning to buy a PS3 in a month or two and as a Final Fantasy fan, i kinda wanna buy this game, but i heard its not good (both in gameplay and plot)
@mewantcool It's a lot of mixed opinion. The game is really linear until you get to Chapter 11 [the game goes by chapters] and it takes a bit to understand the plot, but in the beginning it takes patience. The gameplay, in my opinion, is amazing. If you want my honest opinion on the entire game, I think it's a five out of five. The characters are awesome, good plot for each of them, etc... and it's the only FF that's made me cry. I'd give it a chance if I were you, it's a matter of preference.
@daahellraiza I think around the end, Hope gets better. In the beginning I find him almost intolerable, though. XD I /really/ start to like Hope AFTER he learns the -ga spells.

I'm currently in Chapter 11, Right before Ooerba just enjoying some of the Cieth Missions, Chocobo riding and all. I'll admit this game has its dull points, but once you get the ability to custumize you're team in its entirety, is when it becomes great. I hated the fights first time i played, love em now. The game just takes getting used to.

@aquabutterfly1000 i think the best way to beat him is to have like two ravagers and a commander to agument the dmg and BREAK HIS ASS AS FAST AS POSSIBLE if u need to heal switch to a paradigm that has a healer, ravager and commander, if its serious healing have two healers and a commander to keep the bar from going down. but once broken switch to two commanders and a ravager but breaking him is the best way
he's like if sephioroth was done right. hes intimidateing and void of emotion. he knows what makes the protagonists tick and takes each of them and uses themlike pawns.
instead of trying to kill the charecters every 5 seconds he makes them do his work. he the definition of a awsome villian

@beautifulpassion for the last time I didn't upgrade Fang into a Ravager. My characters are on the max levels of their crystarium. I wish to improve,but where? It's not like I have Gil to buy anything. I just said what I didn't like about the game. I didn't even need luck to get past Barthandelus of Cid. I TRIED and I made a mistake unlike you. The gamer that has to have the perfect strategy for all things while I try to live. I MAY try again, I gave up to do other games to blow off steam.

Different when you use a sentinel and a sab. and the summon ignores Fang and goes straight for me. I got so close then died so I just put in a different gme to complete. Therefor Red Dead Redemption is now complete thanks to previous situations.

The Gameplay in this Game was Bad to me. I mean I loved the Battle System but all u do is Walk in a Straight Path Fight monsters then see a Cutscene.Som Mini Games and Exploring would have been Goo dI hope they improve that the next game.But the Story and Music was amazing.

Nomura once said XIII is "more linear" than other Final Fantasies due to it being the first PS3 title in the series (the technology and size of the game were huge). Ok, Nomura, I get that. But at least inject a few mini games. A 30+ hour game with NO variety in gameplay whatsoever (except for a one minute filler sequence with Hope in a robot). FFX was quite linear too, but it at least had mini games (blitzball was REALLY deep)

@mewantcool It's a lot of mixed opinion. The game is really linear until you get to Chapter 11 [the game goes by chapters] and it takes a bit to understand the plot, but in the beginning it takes patience. The gameplay, in my opinion, is amazing. If you want my honest opinion on the entire game, I think it's a five out of five. The characters are awesome, good plot for each of them, etc... and it's the only FF that's made me cry. I'd give it a chance if I were you, it's a matter of preference.

I'm currently in Chapter 11, Right before Ooerba just enjoying some of the Cieth Missions, Chocobo riding and all. I'll admit this game has its dull points, but once you get the ability to custumize you're team in its entirety, is when it becomes great. I hated the fights first time i played, love em now. The game just takes getting used to.

@aquabutterfly1000 i think the best way to beat him is to have like two ravagers and a commander to agument the dmg and BREAK HIS ASS AS FAST AS POSSIBLE if u need to heal switch to a paradigm that has a healer, ravager and commander, if its serious healing have two healers and a commander to keep the bar from going down. but once broken switch to two commanders and a ravager but breaking him is the best way
