Rob, what wood are you using in this demo? The speech with this video has been removed and there's only music, so I couldn't hear if this was mentioned. It seems very soft but cuts very cleanly - no teariness or splinters - so is it lime/basswood?
little longer sawing, maybe three strokes instead of one. chopping the waste would be three times longer on the pin board. Guess and say 9 to 10 minutes for the same size joint in something like walnut.
dear rob, is it just me or are you using different saws in this video and the through dovetail vid?
also i saw you at the Alexandra palace wood work show last year in london and you were fantastic you let me have the dovetails you had just done and signed them for me, are you going to the show this year?
if you are asking about the chisel, this one is ground at 17 degrees with a few extra for the secondary and tertiary bevels. i use this just on soft woods.
scarily sharp tools - even though they are only hand tools - I would estimate at least ~$500

I don't think I've ever seen tools as sharp as those.

northern white pine, same wood the Shakers used, lovely stuff, very warm to the touch and ages beautifully.

@loopulous The speech is only on the left side of the stereo track. It took me a few mins to work that out!

Would it take much longer time/be harder if the drawer front was in cherry, and the sides in maple/birch?

Nice touch with the stanley plane and the new IBC blade at the end. I seem to be forgetting the name of that 'other' company.

incredible! but even more than that you looked like you were having a great time.
I like your saw btw! One stroke to reach the baseline. You are kidding right?!
Ok, so do you still have space in your Calgary workshops this summer?
