  • Perfect body slam

  • holy roid rage!!!!!

  • People miss the simple point. Andre SOLD the slams of the Warrior. If Andre didn't want to be slammed, trust me, he wasn't going to be. He had his arm on the leg of the warrior and his other arm wrapped around UW's shoulder. Exactly how you sell a slam.

  • @gps29070

That goes for any other slam. If a guy much smaller than Andre doesn't want to be slammed, he's not gonna stand there letting a wrestler slam him. It's a part of every slam, at least the successful ones. Selling the slam or not, it still takes tremendous power to slam someone the size of Andre & UW's feat is phenomenal & is a textbook slam. Definitely the best of all the slams I've seen done on Andre.

  • 4 people i know slammed andre the giant...Otto Wanz,Hulk Hogan,Stan Hansen and of course the ultimate warrior!Sheesh!

  • @TheTechnoa Oh there's plenty more. Search for "Andre slammed" and there should be a compilation of filmed slams on the big man.

  • That's an awesome slam. THe look on Andre's face saids it all.

  • Huh, I didn't know Warrior had matches with Andre

  • @WaffleAfterHours

Yeah after Summerslam 89 when he finished his feud with Rick Rude (until Summerslam 90 when they had another match), Warrior wrestled Andre in many matches across the U.S. & Canada. From the ones I saw, they had matches in MSG in 9/89 & 10/89, a match in Toronto, and a match at the 11/89 Saturday Night's Main Event. I'm sure they had many more in Boston, L.A., Philly, etc.

  • History in the making look at the big show though. only person that I ever seen body slam him is Mark Henry.

  • @mymanjay

Yeah, out of the 2 slams on Andre the Warrior did that I saw/have (I'm sure he did it in many more house shows across the U.S. & Canada), this was definitely the best one.

Many guys (Sting, Luger, Hogan) slammed Big Show back when he was the Giant in WCW. But he was actually in great shape (lighter) in WCW compared to what he is now in WWE. One of the most amazing things I saw was when Curt Hennig gave the Giant his perfect-plex (fisherman's suplex) back on the 9/29/97 Nitro show.

  • @wtcvidman yea, but the perfect plex is 90 percent work of the person receiving it. Basically, the Giant tossed himself over while Mr Perfect was simply bracing him. Fairly easy maneuver.

  • @gps29070

I don't know about 90%, but I definitely agree that the person receiving it does a decent portion of the work in pulling it off. But there is also momentum that Hennig needs to control to prevent the Giant from crashing straight down on him in the middle of the move. And that part does take strength. He also had to make sure the Giant's leg remained hooked for the pin after pulling it off, even though he did kick out.

  • @mymanjay

At the Great American Bash '96, Lex Luger amazingly gave The Giant his torture rack backbreaker by hoisting him on his shoulders, but dropped him after being unable to get a good grip on him. I think Randy Savage may have slammed him too (I know he tried many times unsuccessfully but I think he did pull it off in one match). I know Goldberg did.

  • @wtcvidman Goldberg gave him the jackhammer.

Nash gave Big Show the jack knife, although he botched the second one when Big Show had put on a lot of weight.

  • @wtcvidman

the out of shape, heavy Big Show was manhandled by the power of Brock Lesnar :-)

In fact because of Lesnars strenght, The Big Show had really good matches.

  • @wtcvidman Goldberg gave Big Show a Jackhammer once when he was in WCW. The video is on here if you can find it.

  • @PikeyRko

I remember seeing the match now. He may have done it more than once. It was part of his win streak. But Andre at this time was definitely heavier than the Giant was in WCW, where he was a lot lighter than he became in WWE. Another very impressive thing I saw was Curt Hennig's Perfect-Plex (Fisherman's suplex) on the Giant on a Nitro around September-October of 1997.

  • @wtcvidman if you search the video sting joins the wolfpac he bodyslams big show with ease because big show only weighed around 400-450 lbs in wcw

  • @bigjmac0816

Well Sting was very strong when he was younger and slammed some of the heaviest guys and even carried Vader on his shoulders in the strap match they had in SuperBrawl III. So I have no doubts that he could slam the Giant even at his WWE weight. On the other hand, I'm sure Andre weighed more than the Giant/Big Show ever did, even in WWE.

  • @wtcvidman Sting was pretty strong but he had nowhere near even close to the strength, of the Warrior

  • @bigjmac0816

It would have been cool to see a Sting-Andre match. I think Sting would have been able to slam him in his younger days since wrestlers with a lot less strength than him did it. Sting also slammed Avalanche (Earthquake/John Tenta) in WCW when he seemed heavier than he was before & slammed various other super heavyweights back in the day. Doesn't surprise me since both he & Warrior were bodybuilders who were once a team & had a similar background.

  • Hogan never slammed Andre the Giant like the Warrior did there.

  • @RaveSacks I agree. If you look at Wrestlemania 3, Hogan couldn't fully turn Andre when he lifted him. It was the same in the first Summerslam when he slammed Bundy and the One man Gang. Although I cant take anything away from Hogan, it takes a huge amount of power to slam any of those behemoths.

  • @RaveSacks but Hogan is better. Because when he slammed Angre the Giant he was old. If he was young like warrior at that time, he would slam Andre just like Warrior did. (I'm not hating on Warrior saying hogan is better, but in my opinion they are both the best wrestlers at that time).

  • @IamSylvaster2, Warrior's slam of Andre is more impressive on all counts. 1.) Warrior turns Andre COMPLETELY over for the slam - Hogan never got Andre that high 2.) Andre was heavier when Warrior slammed him in '89, compared to when Hogan slammed him in '87. 3.) Hogan was 33 when he slammed Andre at WM III - that's not old at all. Hogan was still in his prime and was seriously 'roided up at WM III - and he still didn't get Andre up as high as Warrior. Warrior wins this.

  • @rhiggins30 you really love the Warrior so much you must constantly have wet dreams about him. obviously he is your Ding-Dong Warrior.

  • @niteholler, ok man, now it's clear what a sick and sad case you are. Following me around youtube to check my comments. You're also looking at another Warrior page - LMAO! You obviously are the one having wet dreams here - sick bastard! Wow, see treatment.

  • @IamSylvaster2 No chance ...Warrior could have only been 28-29 here when he did the slam, & Hogan wasn't old at all he would have been 33-34 at this time.. Warrior got Andre higher of the matt than Hogan ever did

  • @GodHimself76

i have no doubt that the warrior is acutally stronger than hogan, but you also have to remember that andre was NOT supposed to be slammed like that. he was ailing. hogan did a pretty simple slam for the purpose of a body slam of andre at WM3 to retain the belt. warrior did it to get a big pop at house shows. andre as well as the wwf itself were quite pissed at warrior for doing that.

  • @radicalman33

i have no doubt taht hogan could have done a better slam than the one he did. point is hogan did a slam that andre was ok with, warrior did a slam that pissed everyone off

  • I heard that Andre "didn't give him permission" to be slammed. To the warriors defence, if you can make the crowd go insane over something like that, DO IT! Take note new WWE, take note.

  • @kguse74

I think I heard that too but I don't believe it since he slammed him in venues across the country. I have a match from the Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto where he slammed him there too. I'm sure he did the same in Boston, L.A., etc. & I think if he didn't have permission it wouldn't have happened all those times. I tend not to believe things about the Warrior on that DVD since Vince & Warrior have a grudge against each other & the DVD was 1-sided.

  • @kguse74 If Andre didn't want to be slammed, I think it would've been impossible for the Warrior to do it.

  • That has tp be the most impressive body slam in the history of professional wrestling.

270 lb. Warrior lifts 500+ lb. Andre the Giant all the way up, holds him there for a second and then plants him in the middle of the ring,

  • waw!

  • @wtcvidman

your right, it just wasn't a good match up....maybe a few years earlier would of been better. At the very least Andre did beat Warrior a few times when Warrior first came to WWF.

  • warrior was very very strong,i thing a maybe more power than hogan

  • @jimhellwick129

I wouldn't doubt it. Before getting into wrestling he was a bodybuilder. This was one of his best slams. I also thought gorilla pressing Hogan at WM6 was amazing since Hogan was huge back then.

  • @wtcvidman yes your are right,he started as a bodybuilder, later he beginning to wrestle together with his partner sting, warriors name was bladerunner (Rock)

later Dingo Warrior. He beginn in thewwf in 1987.But his body looks best in the years 1987-1990. his real name is jim helwick .i saw the match with hogan at WM 6.the first time i saw warrior was 1987 vs hercules

  • @wtcvidman That was pure power. He switched/turned ANdre in mid air. Regardless with Andre's help, that is pure strength.

  • @wtcvidman Totally agree. I think this may be the clearest and least aided slam on andre ever. He twisted him into a vertical slam position, which I don't think Hogan did as well as this. The gorilla press on Hogan was even more incredible given he was outweighed by 30 pounds and also Hogan didn't have the ab strength to hold his legs up, making the balance more difficult. Pound for pound strength wise (at 275 lbs), I imagine he is in the top 2 or 3 of all time.

  • @jimhellwick129 man, in my opinion, no doupt, remember, when hogan slammed andre, andre was walking in the direction of hogan, in that case, hogan did the slam more easly.

look at U.W, andre didn't even jumped, U.W picked him up, and slamed him without any help

    just, AMAIZING!

  • Thanks for the upload my friend!!! Excellent!!!
