i hate how the itouch doesn't have a camera. I like taking video of random stuff and some crazy events i have happened to catch. Just way more convenient than a whole video camera. Well other than that the touch is great. Around 10,000 apps and it can even be used as a phone.

you'll regret getting the iPod if you're like me, I loved looking at the Internet and using apps you need Internet connection for and was very dissapointed when I could not use these in most places! I then went and bought an iPhone so I ended up with a iPod that doesn't get used, get the iPhone!

the ipod touch can be used as a phone with the purchase of an app and there is no continuos fee, but it only works in wifi areas so you can't rely on it for your only phone and you probably wouldn't use it very often

I say go for the 3GS, get it on ebay from the states, unlocked stay on vodafone, and best of all it's your phone so you always have it on you. I got it and it has basically replaced my computer, games are great, real football, real racing, shazam is just so cool, get the iphone.

DO NOT BUY THE NANO!

Eventually U'll get bored of it, why is that?

- UR not gonna watch videos, pictures or play any games on that small screen

- No Wireless connection (no web browsing, AIM, etc)

- UR only gonna use it as a mp3 player. After all, not a single upgrade will make the Nano do what the iTouch does for you

so... bottom line. Get the iTouch 8GB (if u can't afford any other) in stead of the Nano

I say go with a 32gb ipod touch. With voice control through the included headphones, you could use it as a phone with the skype app if you were in a wi-fi zone, and then just save your other phone for out of wi-fi calls. the only features it is missing is the camera, which (in my opinion) doesn't mean all that much.

The faster processor means that it will last your for a while, in that they won't start make apps that it can't support for a while!

This new feature of videos for the iPod Nano is terrible as the stupid video camera can't take still pictures! What a waste of money! Apple should have put a video camera on the iPod Touch and the sales would go up even more than the iPod Nano! If you take my opinion, the iPhone, whatever iPhone it is, they are all unnecessary luxuries, I am fine with my Nokia N95, no touch screen but I don't really want touch screen on my person phone. So far, iPod Touch is the best deal and the iPod Nano 2nd.

Dave. I have an ipod nano, touch 8GB and 80GB Classic and in my opinion the Classic is the best ipod in Apple's line up by far. Ok its not touch based and it doesnt have Wifi and mabe the UI is looking a bit dated but the amount of storage you can get on it is awsome for the money they ask, plus you can use it as a external hardrive aswell as having movies and music.  ipod Classic FTW!!!!

The iphone 3gs is like night and day with the touch. I have always felt the touch was a stripped down iphone. Why bother? The touch even costs more off the bat. I know since the iphone is subsidized its different but come on people. If you are going to fork over the money, do it right!

I got the 8GB iPod touch 2G. Should I get the iPod touch or iPhone 3G? I made up my mind to get the iPod since you get all the features of the iPhone (except a phone, camera and bluetooth at the time,now the iPod has bluetooth too) without the monthly fees and contract. Yes 8GB isn't that much room to put stuff, but I got 391 songs, 8 "The Office" videos, 31 pics and 47/300 total apps on mine now and still got 2.2GB free. Which is enough for me. Plus I can take them off and on as I want them.

i am in the same problem. i have a 8GB 2G Touch, but I need more space, so I think i'm going to get the 32GB now it is actually a reasonable price. I would get an iPhone, but my upgrade comes in December, and it makes no sense to get an iPhone in December, and then Apple bring new ones out in Feb-May. The Nano is tempting because of the price but I dont know if it does enough to really make it worth it. I'll probably buy the touch then not renew my contract, and sign a new one for the new iphone

Seriously, I spent a couple of weeks looking into various different mobile phones. Thought I might get a half decent phone and maybe an ipod touch. Then looked even closer and decided to take the jump and get a full blown 3gs. 2nd best thing I have ever bought (imac the 1st). The phone features and integration are superb especially if you get mobileme. You will not regret spending the extra to get a 3gs I'm so glad I did. Battery life could be better but it is one mother of a screen etc.
