15 second review of Livescribe echo: It works great. It will record anything you write on Livescribe paper and take audio notes simultaneously, when you choose. The way it plays back audio is the most useful thing about it: Tap your pen on a word, and the audio that was recorded when you wrote it plays. Plug it into your computer and you can search your handwriting for specific words, which is super fucking cool and useful. Software has good recognition even if you write like a monkey.

I was looking for Eco SmartPen review... anyway, so u have to use "THEIR" notebooks and what happen you are out of ink, I guess you have to shell more money and I bet they are way more expensive than a normal one... so unless it can shoot deadly darts from it its completely useless to me

Only problem with this product is that the pen doesnt record the handwriting very precisely. When i transfer file from pen to my computer, the words have missing spaces and chopped up letters.

The special paper makes it pointless. I'd much rather have a digital pen that uses a USB receiver instead of the special paper. It would also be nice if it could double as a tablet with requiring Vista. So far, I haven't found anything like that.

not really. Four notebooks, 200 pages each, for $19.99 is pretty darn reasonable. Comparable regular notebooks of similar style that one finds at regular stores would be about the same price.

i found that too. here in the uk the notebooks are only slightly more expensive than similar "regular" notebooks. and its not like you use your pen at all times so you dont need to use the special paper all the tim either ;-)
