  • Lopputili tollaselle. Meillä arvostetaan jos osaa jättää mahdollisimman paljon kasvavaa nuorta puuta pystyyn. Vähentää nimittäin taimen istutusta melko paljon.

  • I want one of those!

  • very good :D

  • i could use that machine for cutting firewood.

  • wonder where rollerottne lives

  • they took my logs, you bastards

  • bra mærke

  • The whole point of these machines is selective cutting; they help avoid the devastating slash and burn clear-cutting of massive tracts of land.

We have to get timber somehow.

  • szacun

  • 30 years to have a tree an 1 second to destruct it. Great video.

  • @cld458 It's sweden so more like 70-120 years..

  • What can't you hippies understand. This is the way you look after your forest in a good way. after 20 years there will be a new strong wood Again.!!!

  • I must get one of these. I love pissing off hippies

  • Horrible!

  • @mossypest this is awesome!!!

  • yes this is killing. beautifull machines but the results :-(

  • Nothing runs like a Deere

  • Incredibly fast destroying of nature!

  • i am faster with this machine as the man in the video

  • 2:25 lol just ripes it out

  • @gierschey I agree it's very funny because it's almost lke the operator is thinking "DESTROY LITTLE TREE" with red gloowing eyes

  • my tree .oh

  • i love this mashine

  • The hardwork and sweat of others designed this machine and jd just bought them out aftyerwards. Oh how wonderful lets all praise jd and buy their shirts for christmas, you dofus. JD is a wal mart of equuipment and they are in business to make as much money as possible, so love them long time if you want.

  • John Deere did not create this machine stupid, like their tractor line they bought the hard work of others. With their forestry line up they market the hell out of them and their parts are often jacked up 400% over where you can buy them elsewhere. However, JD are making many of them proprietary so now you have no choice but to pay $729 jd for a $286 ac pump for the SAME pump.

  • that would cut all my firewood in minutes! wat fun is that! lol sweet machine!

  • Few machines can make lumber and piss off hippies so efficiently. Awesome!

  • Areas that pine is raised for harvesting on private property is actually a benefit to the smaller tracts of forest around it. Seed trees of different species are left, seedlings are replanted that grow back quick and the property is normally blocked off from use except some hunting and except for thinning operations it is set undisturbed for years leaving a large wild area. It is ugly in progress but nothing wrong with it in the big picture.

  • are you really that big of a stupid fuck redneck?

  • @noonestakenthis Hence why I hate hippies.

  • Impresive!

  • Эти машины трудятся и у нас, в России, в суровых условиях сибири и дальнего востока и прекрасно выполняют свою работу! Кто не знает, раньше они назывались Timberjack!

These machines are working and we, in Russia, in the harsh conditions of Siberia and Far East and do their job well! Who knows, before they were called Timberjack!

  • do you work with forestrymachins in siberia?

  • Конечно работаем, мы их еще и обслуживаем!

Course work, we have them and serve!

  • yeah, thats pretty cool.... but lets see if we can destroy our planet even FASTER than that.

  • every tree will be replanted. No thats no true you plant like 5 trees for every tree cut down in this video

  • reminds me of like an elephant trunk grabbing food and stuff, it kinda looks like that motion

  • This is amazing. John Deere has created many different machines, but I didn't know about the timber harvester till today. Cool!

  • das Gerät bräuchte ich mal einen Tag und unser Holzvorat wäre für die nächsten 5 Jahre gesichert

  • That is one hell of a machine. Can't wait until they develop one for slaughtering and butchering cows and pigs: instant chops of meat, blood collected (somehow), and the skin removed, all in 5 seconds or less...

  • how to kill a forest in one day,,,

  • Harvesternator :D

  • This is a great piece of engineering. What fantastic productivity.

  • i hate to see trees cut down

  • cool

  • Ok Thats Cool

  • You can either have a long, but then thinner log (remeber it gets thinner at the top), or you can have a shorter thicker log...

Did you know that the computer in that machine actually AUTOMATICALLY places the cuts at the most efficient position according to the DAILY updated price list of wood!

  • nice destruktor ;-)

  • How efficient! The developer must be genious.

  • This machine has the capability to eliminate thousands of jobs. Welcome in the New Depression.

  • Who wants a painful and dangerous job cutting wood? Besides it will lower the cost of wood to the consumer. Let people retrain to use these things! I bet they make a lot more money that way.

  • i would love that job

  • @brycebarker u stupid asshole

  • holy shit thats awesome!!!

  • This is totally sick.

  • lets talk about sex baby lets talk about you and me, lets talk about all the things that make me need a wee, lets talk about sex!

  • that is one bad ass machine!! how often do you have to sharpen the blades???.

  • u change them bout once every 3-4 hrs, if u aint cutting into a rock, u dont sharpen them as a chainsaw :P

  • That is 1 awesome machine! Great operator too!

  • Coool video!

  • this really looks kind of pervert. but it´s just industry. they do it "the same way" with animals. some people seem to be upset, but i think it´s not only the"fault" of the producers, the consumers are responsible in the same amount. there´s also a difference what tree/forest is "killed". is it for more industry, more streets, more profit..?

are you really against that? do you think about such things when you buy anything ???

    - John Deere 1270D -05 with 754 harvesterhead

  • ma che figata sta cosa... la voglio anche io....

  • zo dat gaat echt snel!!

kennen die houthakkers van vroeger niet tegenop:P

    lijk mij wel mooi wark:)

  • You stupid tree huggers. I'm a forestry student senior from Brazil, and we fucking plant trees for that purpose! You are really, really dumb! You don't know what you're talking about! That machine is not for native forests, is for tree farms, dumbasses!

  • Cos strasznego

  • I have mixed emotions about logging.I know it's necessary, but where are the lumberjacks? What do you do with the thing once all your trees are down?? wait 20 years?

  • That's exactly what happens. Believe it or not the Earth is a lot bigger than many of you might suspect. A lot of tree farms run on 20 year cycles . .yes thats right, they NEVER run out of trees to cut down; just one continuous cycle.

  • You know I love trees, a lot! But they're a natural resource. We have tree farms for crying out loud! Just like we have meat farms, so unless you're a vegetarian too you have no argument. And if you are, get over it. Thank Roosevelt for preserving anything, because if it were not for him, we may not have had any national parks and the U.S. would be barren.

  • Tree huggers, get real! Not every tree that is cut down is a waste. Where did the wood for your home come from. A properly managed forest is a healthy forest. That machine could be harvesting trees grown specifically for use; other trees having been planted to replace them. It could also be thinning an overgrown forest that is in an un-natural state because of too much effort being spent on fire extinguishing.

  • If you want renewable engergy instead of oil exploration, you need companies which manage theres sustainable sources in an industrial way. (otherwise only the very wealthy will be able to afford a warm house during winter)

This is forest plantation, harvested to be have new plantation next year. Very normal cycle. Like corn, just taking a few years longer.

Any ranting about "Killing" and "Ozone" is like insulting a farmer for combining wheat.

  • u know i helped lod befor and all of it re grown these guy arnt killing the foresat and the is always trees tree farms app;e ocherd ext.

  • its a great machine

  • GO HUMP A TREE

  • Wow, logging these trees are NOT necessarily all used for building houses, telephone poles etc. I'm sure a percentage of these trees will be cut up and turned into paper then ink is added to the paper showing drawings of dead presidents on them and the Federal Reserve will call it a Billion dollars!!! Way to Go Uncle Ben Bernanke make all those Federal Reserve notes out of thin air--no gold backing just paper that all, in time, will burn and be worthless!! Got Gold??

  • There's something very sad about this.

  • I think John Deere should be very proud of themselves for developing a machine to increase the hole in the ozone layer. Only in America the land of the stupid and home to capitalism

  • oh and as for you thinkin he is masturbating the reason he is shaking is b/c of a little thing called torque. look it up if you don't know what it is!

  • omg really??? you think he is destroying the worlds oxygen? trees are renewable and after a company clears a forest or what ever acreage of land, they replant. besides what do you think built the frame of the house you live in?

  • omg its a truck!!!!!!!!!! -___-

  • Take THAT Mother Nature!

Seriously, though, whoever thinks that forestry is the wanton destruction of nature (as fun as it sounds), needs to stop watching Ferngully.

  • IT SNAKS ON TREES!!!!!

  • Епть , нам бы в Вологодской такую технику.

  • Those of you who think forests should not be harvested to be kept thin (not clear!) should know that you will have a forest with a high concentration of fuel from the overgrowth. It will burn so intensively hot that it will kill everything in the forest. Nothing will ever grow there again for a very long time and you subject the area to the threat of land/mudslides. The California wildfires during the past year are examples of forests that have been destroyed.

    Thank you Sierra Club Eco-Frauds.

  • I'd love to learn how to run that thing.

  • They are easy to run. You just need to learn on the simulator first

  • John Deere 1270D > Forest

  • GOOD OLD AMERICAN KNOW HOW!!!

  • wer sagt hier american know how ? das ist finnisch = timberjack und nur auf gekauft

  • speak english fritz

  • I take it that you wipe your butt with plastic? Pinecones? Rocks?

  • no, your lips.

  • he's got wood...

  • a tak wogule to ciekawe czy taki podszyt lesny tez powycina

  • ale nikt nie powie o tym ze taki harwester tego nie posklada wszystko musza robic ludzie

  • locouk, well when YOU go back to your "habitat", check see what it is made from ... LUMBER ... and the more efficiently it can be gotten, the less homes cost ect ect ect........ just TRY to see the whole picture ....

  • Ikea 1 Forest 0

    Ikea 1 Wildlife 0

This shite makes ya sick, plantation or not. It's a wildlife habitat thats being destroyed here.

  • It looks to me like a lot less wildlife would be destroyed this way.

  • It's destruction, just to satisfy mans need/greed for endless quantities resources such as paper, furniture. It may be a plantation, but this shows what a wasteful uncaring spieces we are.

  • This looks like a plantation...a tree farm.

..but those trees don't have a chance. Would we do this to a cow, pluck it out of the field and skin it and gut it before it's drawn it's last breath?.

  • cool job.

  • There's plenty of trees out there! They're everywhere! Besides, think of the fuel you save for every tree that's cut down instead of having to drive around it.

  • LOVE your comment! funny!

  • The land will most likely be replanted with saplings in order to reclaim those trees in 20 years, just as these were probably planted 20 years ago. The trees in the national forests and parks can be left alone for centuries to come, but the rest of the world needs lumber, pulp and paper. Trees grow back and that growth depends on the industries that depend on it.

  • Wonder if the land will now become one of those much needed and rarely seen upscale shopping malls. Perhaps affordable $500K+ homes that all look exactly the same.

  • Having grown up spending my time roaming the woods I really hate to see something like this. I had family members that logged "the old fashioned way". They respected the forest and didn't strip it bare. They also knew it took 40 years for it to come back.

  • Big deal. Earths distruction at it's finest. I wonder when John Deere will produce a machine that can plant trees as fast as they can destroy them. Anyone else agree?

  • Do you eat corn? How about soybeans. Use products made of wood? They're all renewable resources, raised on farms...only nobody hugs corn.

  • John Deere doesn't have to plant trees, genius...the loggers do it. Do you really think they want to work themselves out of their own industry?

It's amazing how the bleeding hearts don't understand that lumber is a renewable resource...they think our tax dollar is.

  • Have you ever planted trees? It's actually a pretty fast process if you have the right tools, much faster than it takes this machine to cut them down and strip them.

  • John Deere FTW

  • Weee...

  • Looks like u done this before :D

  • i want one

  • EARTH FIRST!

Then we'll log the rest of the planets!

  • Some facts for the knee jerk reaction set:

Logging capacity and production has decreased dramatically in the last 2o years.

US forests are on the increase.

Old trees USE O2 in the decay process.

Old trees must be removed (by man or nature) to make room for new trees.

Young growing trees consume C02 release O2.

  • That is too cool - and I used to think logging was a difficult job! lol

When a tree-hugger see this, there will be tears coming from their eyes as big as horse turds. lol!

  • amazing... both the operator and the machine. and the fact that it picks only the trees it wants and lets the saplings continue growing rather than knocking down an entire forest makes it an ally of our planet

  • Loggers don't "knock down an entire forest". If mother nature does that then the loggers come in to harvest what's on the ground.

    Get a clue.

  • "entire forest" is a general term (not literal) i used to describe the quantity of trees dropped, the quantity being very large. Also take note that this particular footage is on a tree plantation designed just for the purpose of harvesting. Loggers have actually come quite close to leveling an entire forest in recent decades which is why there have been many laws put into place to "protect" them... I like what this machine can do and what it dosent do. Clue is a board game released around 1950!

  • this machine is the enemy of our planet

  • just remember this is a machine - -but it has a human operator - he's awesome!!!!

  • thats what i need for my trees

  • wow.

  • This machine is truly a testament to what mankind can do when it tries really hard, and looks at the BIG PICTURE.

We are harvesting from a renewable natural resource PINE PLANTATION, and the undergrowth doesn't even get harmed undernieth the machine. Amazing! :~D

EFFICIENT and EXCELENT when used properly.

5 STARS to the JOHN DEERE CORP.

  • Destroy the enviroment? This is a pine plantation, grown 2 harvest just like the food u eat,so quit growing food 2 eat then cause that ruins the environment also, buy your reasoning anyway. Put that dangle head in limby hardwood & u wouldnt believe how slow it is,but its great in pine/spruce.

  • This is a cool ass machine. Looks like it gets the job done!

  • WOW!!

  • What a bunch of armchair loggers! I'll bet very few, if any, of you have ever tried logging. There is such a thing as forest management and it is good for the environment and timberland. That's not to say there isn't abuse in denuding forests.

  • The real message is how people react to what they perceive as the rape of planet earth. What you need to remember is that the earth is not going to last forever. It will be replaced by a perfect world; not restored or recovered, but replaced. And the only people who will enjoy it are those who love God more than this present world.Wake up people! This world is passing away! Jesus said "Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away." (Mark 13:31 ESV)

  • Is that why you drive an SUV? Because it doesn't matter?

  • I don't drive an SUV regularly. I take public transportation, and drive the SUV to haul people to church, get groceries, etc. But, no, it doesn't matter what you drive or if we run out of oil. Nothing will last forever.

  • What would you get if you laid all the liberals

head to toe all the way around mother earth??

    A LOT BETTER PLANET!!

  • are you seriously trying to relate this machine to the evilness of george w bush?

honestly, get yourself checked out. i would laugh at you if i didnt feel so sorry for you.

  • friggen hippy

  • My brother runs the kilns (wood dryers) at a large mill in Or. the mill has shut down due to the housing market notneeding wood yet kept buying timber/logs for when they started, after the had enoug to run 6 months 3000 logtruck loads. It has now passed the point where it is good for nothing except wood chips/hogfuel. Pretty sad

  • That's just got to make Mother Earth cry...

Should be an environmental tax for purchase and use of this equipment

  • Are you on drugs?

  • Don't worry, Hillary will figure it all out for us when she takes over. Free starbucks all around

  • die

  • Lo primero para lo que se usa algo bueno, es para hacer algo malo. El ser humano no tiene remedio. Que lástima !!!

  • that machine is great! I bet its costs a bunch of $! I wish I had a smaller version of it....it would be great out at the hunting club! Making shooting lanes would be alot easier!

  • "this machine is taking away hundreds of jobs from loggers"

That's progress in efficiency. Logs become a little cheaper, everything dealing with logs becomes a little cheaper, everyone saves a little more money, and are able use that extra money to increase demand for other goods and services, which will increase employment in those areas. There should never be a time where we "run out of jobs"... there's just a transition period people have to deal with.

  • This is a great piece of engineering. What fantastic productivity. I believe in tree farming. Unfortunately, in the U.S. west, I saw many miles of clear cut trees that the land was not cleaned up or re-planted. Why doesn't our government insist on the land being restored and reused?

  • Why are people so lazy?!?

  • say good-by to all our national forest lands.

clear cutting in NOT the way. selective tree farming is. for you conservatives out there, this machine is taking away hundreds of jobs from loggers, and the lifeout of small towns in the northwest. PS. tree huggers don't drink at starbucks. they re-cycle paper cups.

  • that is a tree plantation you stupid douchebag. And the number of forested acres in america hasn't stopped going UP for decades.

  • That's awesome!

  • bunch of tree huggin idiots. I wonder how many think of the poor trees when you set that starbucks coffewe down on your nice wooden coffee tsble

  • Wow, I have gotten firewood the old fashion way. This is just another way to destroy the planet faster. I am not a tree hugger, I agree that we need stuff to survive. However, this machine is over the top.

  • Sheesh people. What hypocrits to talk about corporate greed? It's greed because they are obviously making money -- so who's buying it that they are making money? Look to yourselves.

  • What U think Shaun....Impressive to say the least

  • Anyone who has every had to cut their own firewood will know this is a GREAT machine!

Dragonnest, as far as banning a machine, how about we ban your computer! What does a this machine have to do with corporate greed? Can you not separate a tool from its use?

If you are opposed to the harvesting and use of wood then you should personally choose to not use any product connected to this indusry. Start with a boycott on toilet paper!

  • One reason why these machines are needed, is that there will not be enough persons how would voluntery do the job with chain show.

  • Tottally amazing the time; my thought was; how many men are in the unemployment line??? It was very impressive piece of machinery but is it that necessary we have that kind of production? S. Starr FL.

  • i would like to make a comment on the john deere.i think its great that people have become so wise that they can build things such as this, but i think if one tree is cut down ,then another should be planted in its place. how many of you out there know that God did'nt just put trees on this earth to use as lumber, but He also made the trees to give us oxygen to breath. if we didn't have the trees we wouldn't have any oxygen on the earth and would die. God is the smatest of us all ,isn't He?

  • I dont know which country you're from, but in Sweden, at the start of the 20th century, 1900 - there was almost no forests at all. Today 50-60% of the land is covered with forests. And we use these machines, everywhere. They are fantastic piece of engineering, and the knowledge of the drivers are huge. For every 10cubicmetre forest we cut down, it grows another 25, because we use thinning, and that gives every standing tree more sunlight, and that gives us more oxygen. God isn't here, we are.

  • And we have laws that say if you cut down a forest, you must plant a new one in its place. Your knowledge of this matter, dragonnest, and oo7fyi, sucks. More and more countries are following our example of forestry.

  • I wish the U.S. would follow that example. In the pacific northwest 100 years ago, there were giant coastal redwoods all the way to the ocean. Today there are 5% left. There is a way to find a balance between civilization and nature. I wish the U.S. would have figured that out sooner, but it's not too late.

  • Love that machine! Great way to log with less risk for the loggers. Faster to the plant, quicker turnover to the replant crew. Go John Deere go!

  • This is what happens to a world that goes from 2 billion to over 6 billion in less than 50 years. We're making 300 babies a minute and it's increasing by the minute. Every one will need a house, fuel and food. Resources are limited. The oceans are already being fished out. Good luck to the young as they will need it.

  • I hope your joking, because thats got to be the dumbest thing Ive read today.

  • HOLY COW...the amount of loggers lives that could be saved just by companies investing in this machine!!! I have lost many friends to logging!

As for the comments about not replanting...has anyone here ACTUALLY seen logging operations lately!? Most trees are "farmed" now...big plots of land owned by private companies where they plant, cut down, replant, cut down, replant...specifically for your homes and furn and whatnot...so as not to distroy the natural growth areas.

  • and its about time, too.

  • Sickening destruction!!!!

  • now that's how you cut down trees..
