  • alchemist is from cali, not really a "west coast" producer though. Dre and Daz dillinger are the two most famous id say.

  • Gil scott heron angel dust

  • angel dust!

  • These Sam Sneed tracks show where Gay Dre stole a lot of his beats from.

  • @cjewelz Dre started Death Row. Sam wasn't even signed until after The Chronic. This samples 2 songs that where around for like 2 years before.

  • @ChronicGod420 On his own? As I remember Chronic had all Death Row artists on it whether they got credited or not. Gay Dre just took the credit as usual. Are you people that stupid?

  • @cjewelz Sam wasn't even part of Death Row until around the time Doggystyle dropped. I know Dre took credit for Daz's and Warren G's beats and took credit for Natural Born Killaz and Keep Their Heads Ringin. Dre was like the only producer at Death Row until Daz started making beats in late 92, after The Chronic was finished and after removing Warren G from the Death Row camp. Even then, he took Warren's ideas and samples without acknowledging him. So, yes, I know Dre is a bitch.

  • @ChronicGod420 To me, a lot of the Sneed beats that have surfaced sound similar to the ones Gay Dre released during the Death Row era when Sneed was there. Anyway, we know wa gwan with Gay Dre so we're not enemiiies!

  • @cjewelz Yeah, Sam and Dre's beats sounded very similar. And notice how much better "his" production got after Daz and Sam and Warren G started hanging with Tha Row and making beats for Death Row artist. Hell, even during NWA Dre was a bitch. Even tho he did nearly all the production, I think that Dre didn't let Yella do shit because he wanted to be a star. And Back with the World Class Wreckin Cru, Dre probably bit Yellas style.

  • @ChronicGod420 No doubt, br. There are better, more consistent producers out there such as DJ Quik, Alchemist, Just Blaze and Timbaland. Gay Dre's sound seems to change depending on who's co-producing (ie ghost-producing) with (ie for) him. I suppose there hasn't been anyone willing to be his bitch since 2001. That's why Detox is taking so long. The tracks I've heard so far sound SHIT. Any schoolboy could have done them on a Playstation.

  • @cjewelz Have me produce Detox and that bitch'll be done and dope in a week. But seriously, Johnny J, Warren G and Daz as well also have a steady sound. You're right in saying Dre's is always different. It seems like a debut album for an artist will be like a polar opposite to the sophmore album when he's doing most of the production. Like Straight Outta Compton and Niggaz4Life, The Chronic and 2001. Even Scott Starch said Dre didn't produce 2001. He did. All Dre did was drums.

  • @ChronicGod420 How could I forget them? The only people who defend Gay Dre are the ones who owe him for starting their careers like Snoop and Eminem.

  • @cjewelz Definately. I have respect for Dre for getting payed and making it possible for white mothafuckas to rap, but at the same time, Dre's a bitch. Listen to the original version of Pac's Toss it Up or Blackstreets No Diggity. Dre took credit for that beat but Riley Carter actually make the beat with some other producer. Pac was right for calling out Dre. I think he was the first and only one to say that Dre just took credit.

  • @ChronicGod420 Makaveli was the only mainstream artist to speak out. Others didn't have a big enough name so people didn't pay much attention to them.

What amazes me is that every region has numerous big-name producers except the west coast. There's Just Blaze, DJ Premier, RZA, etc. on the east. There's Lil' John, Manny Fresh, Timbaland, etc. I don't know about the north. Who in the west gets airplay besides Gay Dre?

  • @ChronicGod420 Whenever a new, young producer comes out in the west he gets swallowed up by Aftermath and he's never heard of again.

  • @cjewelz What a coincidence. I'd never sign with Aftermath. No way in hell I'd be Dre and Em's bitch.

  • @cjewelz And besides that, Battlecat's made a name for himself without Aftermath but then again, he's been mashing keys since the 80s.

  • sam sneed been slept on, so underated shit nowa days cant touch on this, the metaphore is to ill

  • @ken760ca 90%? More like 100%

  • lol everyone saying this dude is sick west coaster..even tho he's from Pittsburgh, Pa...smh its easy to mix us up tho...we're a west coast city trapped in the east...Sneed and the new comers wiz khalifa and mac miller for example

  • Great Tune. Sent to me by my Great Friend on the PC. Ummmm so many beautiful works of ART writing about cocaine. Like Rick James skit, "cocaine is a hell of a drug, on the white leather couch " :-))))) He was a cool dude. Eric Clapton is another one that sings songs on this topic. I never tried drugs, glad I did not. So many wonderful people died from that experiencing. Peace and LOVE. :-)

  • Nope!! Deathrow records1995 Sam sneed ft J-flexx.Dr dre on the beat Snoop on the voals.

  • Sorry Sam Sneed did that beat. I talked to Sam after the fall of Death Row. Sam told me stories about Dre, and how Dre would come in the studio and tweak a sound or two and then take the credit. He gave me a copy of his album. This was back in 97.

  • kool.lol

  • whats good bro . u got a copy of this album thnx

  • Yes and dont forget that u gaev him a blowjob in return :)

  • @cheboe your right. dre is notorious for using ghost producers.

  • @therealdenver Everybody has a ghost producer or ghost writer. It's not like these dudes is Beethoven or Mozart. And even those greats had major influences on their music. I'm no Dr. Dre fan but real is real. And I give him props because he's filthy rich

  • @therealdenver And Sneed is the idiot that was producing tracks for $20k without his own PUBLISHING. That's dumb as ****.

  • @BigSexyAlBundy dude was hustlin back then he needed money THEN not waiting for royalty checks months later (if SUge even paid him lol)

  • @BigSexyAlBundy fUCK YU BICTH CUZ AT TEH END OF THE DAY MY CUZZO IS STILL PAID pa STAND UP BABY.....

  • @dheard0218 First of all, learn how to speak proper English. I got goons that'll pistol whip you black and blue nicca. And I know you're not paid because you can't speak good English. You're a bumb. You and you're cousin are nothing but deer meat to me. I will fuck you up

  • You're cousin isn't paid. He's definitely not paid. 50 Cent, Jay Z, Sean Combs, Baby, Gucci Mane, Dr Dre, Bill Gates, Kobe Bryant, Eminen are examples of paid idiot.

  • This song is way better than that game - "angel" stuff....

  • the game and common, right? i wonder if dude had to pay to use that lick

  • Sounds JUST LIKE IT don't it!

  • No shit, really?? What the album Sam Sneed made in 1995? WHERE?

  • The Game's track Angel feat. Common off the LAX album must have come from this track.

  • This is almost as good as the original. Dre really knows how to not ruin a sample, he respects the sample.

  • almost as good? this is the original and way better. I don't think dre had anything to do with it either. It was produced by sam sneed.

  • He says you got me hooked like crack, not crap.

  • oh oh my bad guess i wasnt lisnn properly loll thanks for the correction though!

  • Sam Sneed!

  • my bad it was on gridlock'd soundtrack not above the rim

  • very good track there was a beat in the above the rim soundtrack called lady heroin too by J.Flex the beat is different but the chorus is the same with snoop saying is line:"the pussy was the bomb, had a negga on sprung" I dont know which one came before the other but they surely got a connection
