Hey Joe, back for another listen. It sounds better the second time, you really embrace those lyrics. I don't think I have ever heard a bad rendition of this song. I like the Natalie Merchant/Michael Stipe version also. God bless you back.
@twinoak170 Yes the one from the telethon. I also listened to Natalie Merchant. She has a new fan in me. I fell in love with her as soon as I saw her. You have a good day. God bless you.
This is one of my favourite songs and I never thought I could appreciate it by any other person than John Prine, but you did it serious justice. Nice version...thanks....
@blueslidejoe Heey, my old friend! How are you doing? You made it through Christmas, and in to 2011! How awesome is that? I listen to you all the time Joe. You got any new ones coming out? Let me know. Love you Brother.

Absolutely beautiful interpretation of this heart rending ballad. The emotion is palpable. Thank you for that, and I suspect Mr Prine would love your amazing cover.
@Bamaboompa Thank you for you frankness, and for not being nasty about it. I appreciate your comments. John Prine is one of my heros in the business. Just remember, songs are written to be interpreted.
well i must say,i never cease to be absolutely floored by some of the talented people sharing their music on youtube.this is truly music to my ears.you have a gifted voice for telling a story.
I like the slide show, I did one in the 70s for a college photography project, I only wish I had a way to transfer those slides to current technology.
Project your slide images, Take shots of them with digital camera. Download them to your computer. Use windows movie maker to make slide show. Does that help you? Thanks for your support. I appreciate your kindness.
Great version of this song. You did well, Very nice.

You are welcome. I get very tired of the nasty comments that seem to be on every music video.
You also can't tell if a cover is by someone doing a favorite song as a tribute, or someone who thinks they are the next American Idol.
I am envious of your playing ability.
Enjoy it.
