@sandgar1001 But is it fake. It is a common practice for 747's to carry spare engines to maintenance locations that require them. Qantas often does this on international flights and the aircraft is designed to do this. Six engines no, but 5 is within the norm (the 5th not operating of course - its simply being ferried).
a 747 can fly with five engines (you cant see the sixth engine). its a transport method for other aircrafts. just the upper deck looks edited, so i don't think its real.
Thanks for clearing that out - im sure no one else could find out this video was fake, we needed a smart ass to tell us that .... Still, you did better than to yell: FAKE AND GAY
some plane have a place were a 3rd engine and be put, it is not powered in any way it is just for transporting the engine back to base for large repairs etc
@maxwellus000123 Get a life! I like BOEING and think this is funny. Also shows if BOEING wanted to Blow the Socks off the A-380 they could just expand the 747. Have seen drawings where the top deck was expanded as shown above.
If is an Antonov 225 or a B-52 Okay, can have six engines but a 747,kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
@chrilly3 The number change also represented structual changes to the design. For example the 400 was longer, had a longer upper deck, had different engine configuration and casing designs and had the winglets.
@slaneyboi I meant in terms of where they're positioned on the wing, and their actual external design. Not the internal hardware which is picked by the operator.
@chrilly3 Well obviously! However I doubt we'll ever see planes that require six engines. I think the success of the 787 over the disappointing sales for the A380 shows that were moving towards an aviation standard based on faster, more efficient planes with greater range rather than larger planes that airlines can pack full. I think most airlines will cap the size of the fleets with aircraft in the 777 A330 range. This is where the money and investment will be.
@haydnjames Even though I recall saying this before, I don't see it in the comments section so I'll just say it again:
You said "doubt we'll ever see planes that require six engines," but actually the Antonov 225 (Biggest aircraft in the world) has 6 turbine engines. That's the only aircraft like that though-no 747 has 3 turbine engines.
@DNETV I recvd an email saying you'd posted this, but I couldn't see it in the feed either!! You're right, after writing it, I did vaguely remember a plane with six engines but couldn't put my finger on it! Trust the Russians to get all overpowered!
@haydnjames one word antonov i think that is the only plane that acctually needs the extra 2 engines look up videos russin flying crap barley gets off the ground
This is absolutely fake. There are only like 5 variants of the 747 which are the -100, -200, -300 (<<Out of production except for Cargo&AF1), -400 and the latest -8
@checkerair Wrong. the 747-100, 747-200, and 747-300 is out of production. Exvept Air Force 1 which is a 747-200. And there is only 2 747-800 on the world. A passenger and cargo.
@bluepanther1011 Because the "746" the guy made looks like it's even bigger than the 747-8 (it's not 800, the 8 comes from the 787) so it would need the extra engines for power.
@bluepanther1011 I believe that the extra engine attached is being "ferried" from point A to point B. I've heard that they can attach it to a wing just to transport an engine.
the 747 is actually capable of carrying an additional engine on a pod purely for transportation. the engine doesn't run but is purely an effective and economical way to transport an engine, whether it be for another grounded aircraft or to return it for maintenance. The footage is real but a 600 series 747 doesn't exist.
I know for a fact the the largest aircraft boeing has made is the Dream lifter, and it is basicaly a 747 with what appeears to be a tumor.(still only 4 engines)
i don't see how a 747-600 can be longer than the longest 747-8 in the 747 family huh? and 6 engines is not efficient as the (weight + drag) to power ratio is lower than 4 engines. and carrying 1 extra engine that is not connected to fuel source is possible.

@skazhiprivet If that plane have 16 engines, and 12 of it fail, I think it won't be able to fly, it will just fall because it has to carry the other 12 engines with just 4 engines. Other than that, it would just a waste of fuel, the plane might run out of fuel in just about an hour... It won't be save, it would just make the flight so scary...
