i have studied this trial. it was not an unfair trial at all. carter and his friend were found with a shot gun and a 38 caliber pistol. the same used at the crime scene. the surviving witness confermed that carter was the man who shot him. carter was found guilty and then was granted a retrial twice. his jurys were mixed juries. the charges were eventually dropped because of lack of winesses. ruben carter now lives in canada and often gives public speeches about justice
