  • This song should be dedicated to Dr. Murray and the travesty of him being convicted for his good friend Michael Jackson's death. Michael took that propofol and slammed it into his own veins. An innocent man has been condemned tonight.

  • THE BEST!!!!

  • i love bob,and ruben,and my family !!

  • My favorite song of all time, from Dylan's legacy!

This song not only served as a protest, and an example of injustice for generations to come, but in terms of music is a masterpiece! (if one could say that). Great percussion, the violin, the tempo and the remarkable unmistakable voice...

  • Inconmensurable. Grandioso. Dura mas de 8 minutos y da pena que termine.

  • Shabtai Zisel ben Avraham aka Robert Zimmerman aka Bob Dylan is a GENIUS

  • why did they show a tornado at 3:29

  • @sogoi6 Yes I know !! I'm french, little confusion 4 years ago when i created this clip between the words "tornado" and "hurricane", lol :) Sorry for that !

  • Bob dylan is superb, hurricane carter is a legend, danzel washington is incredible.. so this song is all you need

  • love this movie one of my favorite denzel movies and my ex stold it from me evil women

  • I just recently saw the movie. Great movie terrible story. What an injustice to this poor man. Glad he finally was released and cleared.

    Great song.

  • dazed and confused entrance scene :P

  • haha she prolly fuckd hurricane carter haha...classic white girl

  • really?

  • My mom was the roomate to the guy who freed hurricane from prison .

  • check out ( john mccullagh "ill dance on your grave mrs thatcher" ....go on youtube or myspace,,,well worth a listen

  • @chris626880378 Bob Dylan rarely plays this song anymore because Rubin ''Hurrincane'' Carter was released from prison. The main reason that this song was made to promote people to act against Rubin's conviction. Now that he was released there is no reason to play the song anymore. If Rubin Carter was still in prison he would. Bob Dylan would probably still be playing this song today.

  • God Dylan.

  • meron sa lime wire 2 nakakuha nga ako e...

  • why wont bob dylan play the song anymore???

  • please dont talk shit about this unless you have read one of carters two books.

  • @mrowenmatt well u cant ever judge a man from his pov! it better to get a colective look on him.

  • ***dazed n confused all the way son***

  • STFU!

  • the guy done his time like a man more than could be said for idiots like you mob !!!

  • Seriously??? I wondered why he wont play this song anymore.

  • Carter is not guilty, it's proven his not so you can't prove the opposite haha, you so dumb

  • @FelJocke Hey Jocke, if I could even understand a single word of your destruction of the english language I might respond, but since I notice you have about as much edumacation as that "Killer" did..................your dismissed moron...................

  • I know you can read what i wrote.... destruction? okey, i don't care =D have a nice day

  • Number 1 contender of the world??? Hardly, to say the least! That win resulted in Ring Magazine ranking Carter as the #3 contender for Joey Giardello's world middleweight title. Carter won two more fights (one a decision over future heavyweight champion Jimmy Ellis) in 1964,

  • Epic, long live the legacy of Hurricane carter. the system can fail, proven.

Hurricane took the brunt of the heat to teach future generations that the system fails. HURRICANE <3

  • The system fails all the time.

  • Bello was a petty criminal, who happened upon the scene while Carter was beating it out the door into that white car that Miss Valentine to this day identified as the getaway car. Carter on the other hand was a convicted vioplent offender that dear friends is public record, it cant be disputed. As for the up and coming middleweight? Not! Ring magazine had him at number nine and was 7-7-1 in his last 15 fights including a savage beating by Joey Giardello who sued the movie makers and won a suit.

  • Bob Dylan did nothing more than interview Carter, then write the song. Patti Valentine never saw the dead bartender as she entered the front door and he lay dead behind the bar, for all you who think Carter was such a stand up guy? Wrong! When Carter was cuffed on this killing( with matching bullets found in his car) he had done two 4 year stints in jail, booted out of the army and his so called career was spiraling downward faster than hell, check official online trial transcripts and records!!

  • Great song! To bad Carter was guiltier than sin, do some research friends. Forget the movie, its shot full of BS. Carter was a cold blooded murderer.....

  • Classic song - terrible miscarriage of justice.

  • super leid ! ich liebe den film !

  • Also, we should frame vanderpants for triple murder. Let's see how he/she likes it. Also, 10 years isn't really "injustice". That's all. Oh, and you should really learn some basic English skills.

  • I love stupid YouTube people who think they're detectives and have "done reasearch" on the case. But thanks for uploading this video (song mainly).

  • haha then you a hopeless twat because britney is a dumb bimbo that needs to grow the fuck up her version would be popy and gay this version hs soul and meaning much better than anything she cold ever put out

  • man this song is great

  • The douche saying "metal up your asses pussies" is fucking retarded to comment if he's listening to this song. You're a redudant pussy.

  • lukas, maybe you should listen to real music as opposed o an exploitation of anger and alienation devoid of true feeling of joy

  • Uh Heavy Metal is an awesome genre but disregard what that douche said. He makes us metal heads look like jackass

  • @SatanicalEve

But... you are jackasses? I don't understand what you're trying to say?

  • Worst metallica reference ever.

I'm ashamed for the both of us....

  • lukasnovoszel;

I hope you die from a horrible case of gonorrhea.

Get the hell out of here.

  • Hahahahahahaha thumbs down. wow

  • also , later arrested for assault and battery!!

  • I've been saved

    Praise God

  • GREAT song!

  • man the lip-sync is way out on this one

  • Sorry everybody bur I'm white and you all have to remember that aat this time it was a crime only to be a person of color so the gap was easily jumped to charge this man.

  • love the song...but...anyone know whatever happened to "the Hurricane" ? Look it up ...kinda disappointing, don't you think,to write such a great song for a person such as Rueben.Often wonder what Dylan must have thought??!!??

  • He set up a foundation for the unjustly imprisoned. He was also given the middle-weight title

  • Comment removed

  • even though when asked the other contenders said it was the right thing to do

  • The song is great...i dont know much about the case...but well the movies must be realy wrong...if there were black people around in medival england according to hollywood...than they can do anything...the mess up anything that is right

  • umm kinda was. To an extent. They were raiders from the babary coast in northern africa

  • i have read some info on this case, the film is merely a work of fiction based on facts. Mr Carter was an evil man who got away with murder literally due to the liberal left and a few pretentious artists,BTW i am not right wing i just hate seeing injustice especially when it is due to the inconvenient truth.

  • okay.. how would U not anybody else BUT YOU know he was evil? you wernt there so? you cant say anything about it

  • firstly i am not alone in thinking this, secondly there is a thing called evidence, and thirdly i did not have to be there. Were you present when Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon??? probably not, therefore by your reasoning he did not set foot on the moon.

  • acutalley i could care less about the moon where talkinga bout the hurricane what evidence do you have? to put him away? LOL shit all eh?

  • i used the moon as an example of not having to necessarily be somewhere to believe someting took place, you did not manage to grasp that concept. I do not have enough characters remaining to explain why he was probably guilty and the policeman was not a racist, you will have to do your own OBJECTIVE research on this.

  • how do you know the police dudes wrent racist ehhh?

  • you are saying rubbish because the people who shot the film did a very intense investigation, they interrogated witnesses and they looked at the so called evidences. That is how they proceeded. Moreover Bob Dylan is not an idiot, he followed the case and he saw the lack of evidences and he also listened to journalists who investigated. Where you thinking Hurricane did the film him self ?

  • Don't confuse Hurricane and OJ Simpson, unless you think all blacks are the same.

  • of course you are so right Hollywood has such a great history of accurately portraying real life events.

  • Lol wanna know something that's funny, -there are actual people who don't believe, or didn't believe in the moon landing =P

  • 1. Define evil why do you say that

    2. Where you there?

    3. Did you see Rubin "Hurricane" Carter shoot those people?

    4. The time was very racially charged

    5. If he was "evil" why would he start a foundation for the falsely accused, surely he would disappear

    6. Remember he never tried to escape he was so sure that justice would be done

Thats all I ask. I don't want a fight. So don't start one

  • Comment removed

  • You read "some info". So has everyone else with an opinion.

    The facts:

    1. You weren't there

    2. You have no idea if he was guilty or innocent

You intelligence can be summed up by your answer in number 3....Q2 and 3 are in fact different questions and not the same. "Were you there" "Did you see it happen" One could have been there and not seen anything...they are 2 questions and in fact different...nice dodge....

  • 1. Thats true but we don't know if he did it sow we shouldn't label him as such

    2. Thank you

    3. Was kinda a continuation of 2

    4. I didn't say that but at the time Rubin could have been prejudiced against (I don't know what the word is for that)

    5. Still could've happened also this song was written before he was released the hysteria of celebrities joining in had died down

    6. He could have escaped to: Africa, India, various other places.

Thank you for keeping things civil

  • You are a right wing facist racist, don't lie,Ruben was finally set free from the injustice he was served. He was not evil, stop distorting the facts. The only evil is the White Mans justice on people of color.

  • Thank you very much for saying that considering I'm white!

  • de nada

  • i have studied this trial. it was not an unfair trial at all. carter and his friend were found with a shot gun and a 38 caliber pistol. the same used at the crime scene. the surviving witness confermed that carter was the man who shot him. carter was found guilty and then was granted a retrial twice. his jurys were mixed juries. the charges were eventually dropped because of lack of winesses. ruben carter now lives in canada and often gives public speeches about justice

  • Looks like you need to study more. Lack of witnesses?

  • It wasn't a fair trial, also the surviving witness did NOT confirm him as the man who shot him, he told the police that this wasn't that man that shot him.

  • We will never know for sure. Perhaps had he been given a fair trial initially things would have played out differently. His case is one in several that pertain to why the death penalty should be done away with.

  • This is my favorite of all of Bob Dylan's amazing songs. The fiddle player is brilliant and I think it is Dylan's most soulful performance.

  • 27 wins, 12 losses and one draw in 40 fights, with 19 total knockouts

New Jersey Pigs just couldn't let another up coming black man life out his destiny.

Just like in the salem witch trials, corrupt old white men hold the power. Hurricane was FRAMED.

  • Even if Carter was innocent. This song is such a great statement police corruption in those days in America.

It is telling a story (Just happens to be a true story. Minus the part about him being innocent because no one knows for sure.) and that story is universal to all cases in America's history where there was unjust bias etc.

And all the cases of bias and injustice today.

  • "This song is such a great statement police corruption in those days in America." I wasn't aware that police corruption had ended....oh thank god...

  • Hey Mr. take words out of concept. Continue reading my comment would you? I said AND all bias and injustice in cases TODAY.

I did not say that police corruption had ended did I? That was your own stupid and foolish assumption.

Read and think just a bit more before you speak.

  • i was named after tbob dylan

  • i hope your joking.

  • I agree with Toneloco64 Great song who cares bout the other ...

  • you people need to let racism go to heck whith people like that it was somethin dylan beleived in so screw it we all have an opinion

  • Ah, Dylan, o Profeta!

Rubin Carter, boxeador, conhecido como Hurricane ( Furacão) foi preso em 66, acusado de assassinato em primeiro grau. Foi libertado, após 19 anos de prisão, em 85.

Ah, sim, a direita errou novamente!

  • pure musical genius

  • hats off to mr. carter, and mr. dylan. justice gone wrong ,with a good ending.

  • when i cant sleep i listen to bob dylans greatest hits-and this is one of the songs-i always mean to find out what this song was about-never heard of rubin carter before-but now i know.Dylan as well as a poet is a great storyteller with historically correct facts-thats what i like about dylan songs.

  • i do know this song off by heart :) love love love this song.....carter was innocent!!!!!!!

  • this is the second great song by bob dylan that may have turned me down.... the first one was ¨bob dylan´s dream¨ which he copied from an american traditional tune... franklin somethin... the second one was this one because there´s a great chance he WAS guilty

  • who cares; awesome music.. duh

  • what the hell their was more than enough evidence that proved that he WAS NOT guilty but he still got put in prison thats why bob dylan made the song in the first place

  • fairly sure he actually was guilty, still a great song though....

  • Bob Dylan now refuses to play this song at any concert because he now believes that he was wrong about the hurricane and thinks that he did indeed commit the murder

  • FREE HURRICANE !!

  • the Hurricane is free, Rubin Carter was released 1988, he lives in Toronto, Ontario.

  • I almost have all the lyrics to this song memorized just from listening to it so many times.

    Bob Dylan has godly lyrics!!!

  • wow. just wow

  • lol a part of this sonf was Family Guy when stewie is leaving high school naked! lol.

  • just watched that one

  • materpiece

  • 4play02 your a freak he was not guilty u racist prick

  • How does having an opinion make him racist?

  • Bellissima

  • Una canzone che a distanza di anni fa ancora sognare.

  • I hate long songs but this is a real masterpiece. The Lyrics are soooo good, Dylan's voice fits also perfect. 1st class song!

  • Thanx for this video- Dylan is the real champion of the world!

  • KATRINA

  • Great song! I wonder why it isn't on the Dazed & Confused soundtrack???

  • cause in dazed and confused they play like 30 seconds of it, and its hard to hear. But thats an epic scene.

  • because it doesn't fit in the least....

  • It doens't matter if he was black or if he is white, or if he his guilty or if he is innocent .If was 40 -45 years ago. And justice at the end found he was not guilty. We need toi beleive that justice has right,or all our system is under check

Im talking about the poetry of Bob Dylan, it is magic or you beleive there are another one who could write so a song!!!!!!!!!!!!.

I love this song. I love all Dylan's songs

  • Justice never found him to be not guilty

  • "And justice at the end found he was not guilty" Nooooooo, they found him guilty...because he was

  • Nooooooooo they didn't. He was actually awarded a few degree's by universities for contributing towards the justice system and the wrongful imprisonment of civilians. get your facts right.

  • Actully, they never definitively proved weither he did indeed commit the murders or not. he was released and acquitted because the justice system felt prosecuting a 22 year old case for a 3rd time with little evidence was pointless.

  • Why the hell are people talking about homo sapiens and homo sapiens sapiens? Does it matter what you call it? I'm pretty sure Humans covers it.

  • this song is so great.....movie too btw....=)
