This song should be dedicated to Dr. Murray and the travesty of him being convicted for his good friend Michael Jackson's death. Michael took that propofol and slammed it into his own veins. An innocent man has been condemned tonight.
i'm italian..amazing song and amazing the film too (denzel washington my myth)...however it's important to sensitize people on racism...fuck racism fuck all racists!!!
the amount of detail in his lyrics is so amazing its like each bar is a painting or clip in a movie where you see so much in such a little snippet of material... genius without a doubt... love you Bob!

My favorite song of all time, from Dylan's legacy!
This song not only served as a protest, and an example of injustice for generations to come, but in terms of music is a masterpiece! (if one could say that). Great percussion, the violin, the tempo and the remarkable unmistakable voice...
poet, musician, traveller and a real person.we love what he stands for and how he says stuff we think but cant put into words. and still it sounds good. even a bad tale you want to listen to it.always liked this guy. over 25 years still sounds fresh as first time i heard it.

A Metal at Heart, this is the ONLY Dylan song on my iPhone.... "Here come's the story of the Hurricane..." Kick ASS tune. Great sound quality, CookCpt !
@chris626880378 Bob Dylan rarely plays this song anymore because Rubin ''Hurrincane'' Carter was released from prison. The main reason that this song was made to promote people to act against Rubin's conviction. Now that he was released there is no reason to play the song anymore. If Rubin Carter was still in prison he would. Bob Dylan would probably still be playing this song today.

Did his time??? Are you kidding me? When this triple homicide occured the death penalty was in place. This violent, unrepent killer should have gotten just that, nothing less. He did not get nearly what he deserved. By the way? You won't hear Dylan play ths song. He knows Carter is guilty now............
@FelJocke Hey Jocke, if I could even understand a single word of your destruction of the english language I might respond, but since I notice you have about as much edumacation as that "Killer" did..................your dismissed moron...................
Number 1 contender of the world??? Hardly, to say the least! That win resulted in Ring Magazine ranking Carter as the #3 contender for Joey Giardello's world middleweight title. Carter won two more fights (one a decision over future heavyweight champion Jimmy Ellis) in 1964,
Bello was a petty criminal, who happened upon the scene while Carter was beating it out the door into that white car that Miss Valentine to this day identified as the getaway car. Carter on the other hand was a convicted vioplent offender that dear friends is public record, it cant be disputed. As for the up and coming middleweight? Not! Ring magazine had him at number nine and was 7-7-1 in his last 15 fights including a savage beating by Joey Giardello who sued the movie makers and won a suit.
Bob Dylan did nothing more than interview Carter, then write the song. Patti Valentine never saw the dead bartender as she entered the front door and he lay dead behind the bar, for all you who think Carter was such a stand up guy? Wrong! When Carter was cuffed on this killing( with matching bullets found in his car) he had done two 4 year stints in jail, booted out of the army and his so called career was spiraling downward faster than hell, check official online trial transcripts and records!!
Great song! To bad Carter was guiltier than sin, do some research friends. Forget the movie, its shot full of BS. Carter was a cold blooded murderer.....
Did you all hear that Bob Dylan refused to license this song to Britney Spears -- she wanted to do a cover version of it? I'm not sure exactly why he said no, but I hope it wasn't because he iis worried her version might outshine his. But he's probably right to be nervous...Britney's version probably would be terrific resulting is fewer record sales of Bob's albums. Brit's will probably be better, and folks might just realize that Bob's version is fairly mediocre.
haha then you a hopeless twat because britney is a dumb bimbo that needs to grow the fuck up her version would be popy and gay this version hs soul and meaning much better than anything she cold ever put out
Sorry everybody bur I'm white and you all have to remember that aat this time it was a crime only to be a person of color so the gap was easily jumped to charge this man.
The song is great...i dont know much about the case...but well the movies must be realy wrong...if there were black people around in medival england according to hollywood...than they can do anything...the mess up anything that is right
i have read some info on this case, the film is merely a work of fiction based on facts. Mr Carter was an evil man who got away with murder literally due to the liberal left and a few pretentious artists,BTW i am not right wing i just hate seeing injustice especially when it is due to the inconvenient truth.
firstly i am not alone in thinking this, secondly there is a thing called evidence, and thirdly i did not have to be there. Were you present when Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon??? probably not, therefore by your reasoning he did not set foot on the moon.
i used the moon as an example of not having to necessarily be somewhere to believe someting took place, you did not manage to grasp that concept. I do not have enough characters remaining to explain why he was probably guilty and the policeman was not a racist, you will have to do your own OBJECTIVE research on this.
You read "some info". So has everyone else with an opinion.
The facts:
1. You weren't there
2. You have no idea if he was guilty or innocent
You intelligence can be summed up by your answer in number 3....Q2 and 3 are in fact different questions and not the same. "Were you there" "Did you see it happen" One could have been there and not seen anything...they are 2 questions and in fact different...nice dodge....
You are a right wing facist racist, don't lie,Ruben was finally set free from the injustice he was served. He was not evil, stop distorting the facts. The only evil is the White Mans justice on people of color.
It wasn't a fair trial, also the surviving witness did NOT confirm him as the man who shot him, he told the police that this wasn't that man that shot him.

Even if Carter was innocent. This song is such a great statement police corruption in those days in America.

this is the second great song by bob dylan that may have turned me down.... the first one was ¨bob dylan´s dream¨ which he copied from an american traditional tune... franklin somethin... the second one was this one because there´s a great chance he WAS guilty

well yea but i decided to investigate a bit about it and saw a few pages with loads of info that pointed to that he was guilty.... also that´s why i said this song ¨may¨have turned me down... it´s impossible to know the truth you know... also carter was a militar before... the war fucks up people... still, don´t get me wrong... nobody knows what happened
Bob Dylan now refuses to play this song at any concert because he now believes that he was wrong about the hurricane and thinks that he did indeed commit the murder
Nooooooooo they didn't. He was actually awarded a few degree's by universities for contributing towards the justice system and the wrongful imprisonment of civilians. get your facts right.
Actully, they never definitively proved weither he did indeed commit the murders or not. he was released and acquitted because the justice system felt prosecuting a 22 year old case for a 3rd time with little evidence was pointless.
the case was a huge fiasco the only evidence against him was that his car was white,he had a couple of shells in the backseat and he failed a polygraph test(but many innocent people do) ,but both eye witnesses said he wasn't the man. It was also convient (to higher class white society who bet on white boxers) that he was imprisoined, Thats pretty much the story so you be the judge
Ok... correction, it's still horrible that he was in prison IF he were innocent, and still horrible even if he did do it, cause that just means Bob Dylan was WRONG D:
This song should be dedicated to Dr. Murray and the travesty of him being convicted for his good friend Michael Jackson's death. Michael took that propofol and slammed it into his own veins. An innocent man has been condemned tonight.

Why the hell are people talking about homo sapiens and homo sapiens sapiens? Does it matter what you call it? I'm pretty sure Humans covers it.

...We're all homo sapiens

Gwaziiscorner: There are significant genetical differences. I agree with your general message though.
avraks 2 years ago
Yeah, i'm fully aware of that, but people care more about skin tone than biology.
and i don't think there's a name for people who harbour hateful thoughts against people with a different gene compositions.
and i've never heard ''jesus, that guy must be a criminal! his white blood cell count is higher than ours!''
Gwaziiscorner 2 years ago
the case was a huge fiasco the only evidence against him was that his car was white,he had a couple of shells in the backseat and he failed a polygraph test(but many innocent people do) ,but both eye witnesses said he wasn't the man. It was also convient (to higher class white society who bet on white boxers) that he was imprisoined, Thats pretty much the story so you be the judge
RealMusicHasSoul93 2 years ago
Ok... correction, it's still horrible that he was in prison IF he were innocent, and still horrible even if he did do it, cause that just means Bob Dylan was WRONG D:
