if somehow you managed to get a dentist to file your canine teeth into fangs, and the teeth either side of them shorter to complement the freedom and length of the fangs, would they ever return to normal do you think? :L just curious

They filed my teeth to make my teeth smaller to allow space for movement.

Initially I was quite scared too, but it didn't hurt and apart from the noise, it was not bad at all!

is filing the teeth really necessary? can you use invisalign without having your teeth filed?

some of my teeth are set wide apart and i have a huge gap from a tooth removed which i would like to close, also my main wish is to fix my overbite.

but if having my teeth filed is mandatory, i'd rather go for normal braces.

My teeth were overlapping so they needed to file my teeth to create space to allow movements.

I guess if you have gaps between your teeth, filing wouldn't be necessary.

Speak to a dentist and he should be able to advise you. :)

Yes, I was shocked when they filed my teeth. But its really nothing, they have to do it to get teeth to move closer so you will have that great smile. It does not hurt at all and it take a few min to do. Once get used to Invisalign its easy to use. I like them and glad I did this vs. braces. Its great for adults!

I'm getting Invisalign in a few months. I go to my orthodontist on the 10th for impressions and then a month or so from then I get my aligners.

My bottom teeth are very similar to yours, but mine are from chipping them over the years(fights, accidents, etc). I have big teeth too and over crowding, but mainly I just want the bottom teeth to be EVEN across the top and not all jagged.

Would teeth filing actually work to fix this? And if so, is it going to endanger my teeth or my bite?

Filing isn't great for teeth but it's shaving away enamel... but because I wanted my teeth look straight, that's just a small sacrifice to make. :)

I got a question. I read somewhere that its best to use invisalign at least 22 hours a day. My question is, what do you do when you go partying with your friends? I mean is it possible to drink a lot of beers or sodas with the invisalign on? or will you have to take it off? if you have is it then possible not to use it for maybe 7 hours being out?

nope u can only drink water when they are on and your supposed to have them on pretty much all day

it's best to wear 22 hours a day... but I have to be honest hat I've had days that i wore them less than 20 hours!!! and... i do drink with them on... which is not great but hey... !

Ive got a massive overbite, and my k-9's are up in my gums (but there out and you can see them...kinda) my lower row of teeth are fine...but my 4 front teeth are crooked, my two front teeth are kinda triangular. Unno....Would Invisalign be ok to use? I dont wanna go through the ordeal of braces...:( im 14 turning 15 in 21 days and it just sucks that my teeth are like this...

You're still so young! :) I would recommend that you book a consultation with a dentist to see whether Invisalign is the right choice for you.

Sometimes fixed braces can do more things than Invisalign... Although they look a bit ugly, just THINK about how beautiful you'll look in 1 or 2 years time! Good luck!!! :D

No, not at all. the attachments have kinda become part of my teeth. They're attached to my teeth so they get brushed everyday when i brush my teeth! :D
