  • You FRAUD!!!

  • Quel redoutable adversaire ce Rondoudou ^_^

  • Jigglypuff *wink* so cute :3

  • so.....this is basically SSBM armor lock.......

  • JIGGLY! Puff... Jigglypuff. :D

  • So how hard is this to do consistently? If you miss a rest could you theoretically survive with this almost every time if you do it properly?

  • @SoraHyuuga01

If vertical knockback is too high then you'll just "miss" the ground when you try to ASDI, DI, and/or SDI.

The knockback of Fox's upsmash is purely vertical so this trick will stop working at above ~16% as shown in the video.

Unless it spikes (e.g. Fox's Dair, Falco's Dair) or meteors (e.g. Peach's Dtilt, Falcon's Dair, Link's Dtilt), you can use this to recover from many things like shown in the video.

Things like Fox's and Falco's Dsmash can be recovered from indefinitely.

  • @GenoGar Ah, I see. So it's useful for the most part but it doesn't work against certain things namely fox's up smash and the like. Well it's a good thing barely anyone uses fox right?

    Noi'mnotsrs

I guess if jiggz misses a rest you'd want to try and kill her off the top anyway depending on your respective character's killing moves so... Oh well.

  • @SoraHyuuga01 1:08 I'd say it works against fox's up smash just fine, provided your damage isn't very high.

  • awesome

  • Magus Puff > Mango Puff. That is all.

  • Lol at the end when jiggly rests and other jiggly screams cuz he doesnt know how to be like magus.

  • Momentum cancelling. Reminds me of a certain other game.

  • yeeglypa

  • So what if he teched the PAWNCH?

    WE ALL DIED ANYWAY.

  • how the heck does he do that?

  • JIGGLYYYYYYYY- puff

  • HOW ? I. NEED. TO. KNOW. HOW ?!?!

  • real time?

  • puff vs pawnch...

    puff wins?

  • so how do you aim the control and c-stick to do this? and do you have to press L to tech?

  • Lol when Falco got closer to Jigglypuff.

  • all of malle exept for jiglypuff:THE FALCON PUNCH WAS REJECTED!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!??!

    jiglypuff:IT WAS REJECTED!!!!!!!!!!

  • Falcon Punch rejected!

  • Tipper to the face!!!!

  • Jiggly!!!!.......Puff!......Jigglypuff!

should make a video of just the sounds since that's what made up the whole video sounds wise xD

    so it says

    JIGGLYPUFF :P

  • You, sir.

    Are a genius.

  • Comment removed

  • I busted this with Marth a couple of times. Unless that was something completely different.

  • Is this done in TAS or realtime?

  • ...wow

  • That headband had some kind of epic powers in it....

  • Jiggs was equipped with a Focus Band.

  • Longest sword

    EVER

  • NOOO!!! Impossible! You can't possibly tech a falcon punch!

  • H-box needs to learn how to do this. Then he'll get 1st at oos tournies.

  • FUCK YEAH MAGUS

  • I like the bit where she says JIggleeee puff

  • I lol'd at the end.

    rest.

    no u.

  • Lol ya.

  • i fucking rofl'd

  • After watching this twice, I'm going to have JIGGLY PUFF!!! stuck in my head for the next two hours...

  • What if they up smash you? o.O

  • At high percentages? ^^

  • *looks at 1:10*

  • That's low percent...

  • OMG!! After I saw Jiggly Puff with her sleeping almost one hit K.O. move and lived with THAT much damage, I gave up. You should post a video with a HOMERUN BAT against Jiggly! :D

  • I dunno if you can tech a home run bat; doesn't it send you up?

  • Ramimeso?

  • no, SEXY

  • pro DI?

  • Wanna know how I can tell the video is fake? That Falcon Punch didn't blow up my laptop with its awesome might, and also didn't even kill the Jiggs.

On a more serious note, very impressive. :O

  • LOL AT THE END

  • this is super incredible

  • powder puff orgasm

  • :O Even FALCON was no match.

  • That isn't as hard as this XD Onette at least has building to tech off of

  • ah, but you see, I teched onto the Phone wires.

    =DD

  • That's insane!

  • falcon paunch .. didn't... work??!

    NOOO *cries*

  • I. LOVE. MELEE.

  • Man, Jigglypuff was soooooo overpowered in Melee! WHY DID THEY HAVE TO NERF HER?! WHY GOD, WHY?!?

  • It's not Jigglypuff... It's Magus mad DI....

  • Then what about Jigglypuff's 1-hit KO Rest move?

  • its not a 1 hit for some of the heavier characters and its really hard to use unless yoru Pro

  • meh not really, rest is not that hard.

Anyway she wasn't overpowered b/c the spacies raped her pretty bad, esp fox.

  • They have to be inside you in order for it to work, and Falcos don't rape Purins <_<

  • meh its prob 50-50

  • It's not always a 1HKO, people can DI the Rest just like any other move. The thing is, because it comes out on the 1st frame, there's miliseconds in which to DI it; I've seen people live by DIing themsleves towards the side of the stage they're not on. (And, there's also the problem of LANDING the rest in the first place. You miss, at least 50% chance you die :D)

  • Someone have probably already replied to this but, you do know that every attack in the game has hitlag? hitlag frames can be used to SDI BEFORE you do an actual DI so there's quite alot of time to DI..

Prediction + frames of lag = You have enough time to DI atleast 3 times before you input the correct DI.. Or atleast you should be able to if you actually play this game at higher lvls.. but yeah, at any procent over 30-40% and you'll be dead regardless of DI..

  • Rest isn't always super eaasy to land, a lot of rest combos can be DI'd out of, and good players will do that. And when you miss rest against a good fox you'll see my point.

  • 0:55 THE FALCON PUNCH DIDN'T WORK??? NOOOO!!! lol...

  • oh, I see, Rest is so you can Crouch Cancel without actually crouching.

  • why the flame? oh wait, nvm this takes skill

  • Lmfao.

  • LMAO to the end.

    nice techs.

  • Fail.

  • L

    M

    F

    A

    O

    .

  • hahah

  • You lose the internet.

  • *Facepalm*

  • OH NOES!!! Epic Fail.

  • HOLY SHITZORS

    FAILZ

    *diez*

  • hehehe. if ur getting brawl it'll b fun to watch some kick ass mp vids. letsss seee how goooddd uu rrrrrrrrrrr. *.*

  • OMG it does look like "sexy" lol

  • Nah I didn't know that. It isn't really random though. I use "らミメソ" because it looks almost exactly like the way I'd write "SEXY" in my handwriting (the Y being different).

  • I gotta try that out... Will definately improve my game. Oh yeah, did you know your tag "らミメソ" says "ramimeso"? It was probably random, because that means nothing in Japanese.

  • Thanks for the vid and the comments.. They helped a lot.. I can't wait to try this.. So is King as arrogant as people say? Do you think you can take him now?

  • king doesnt play anymore, mango's considered the best jiggs now

  • Mango won Pound 3 so some consider him best player now, but w/e.

I can't wait for all the thumbs down I get from PCchris/M2K/Azen/Ken fans that I get :)

  • Chexr is a rape jiggz from MN, he just won the Dan 2 in Washington

  • whos magus?

  • I need to start DI'ing with the C-stick more =.=...

Yes, Magus is indeed sexy =D.

  • So in the video when double-stick teching, could you hold down with the analog and c-stick down toward the stage.

  • No. Holding the c-stick in the same direction as the analog does nothing as the c-stick is only used for ASDI, & you also can input that using the the analog.

The purpose of using the c-stick is to ASDI in a diff direction than you are DIing for trajectory DI w/ the analog, or in other uses to get an ASDI in a direction while you try to SDI w/ the analog to escape a combo.

The point here is to traj DI w/ the analog to get the lowest knockback while still ASDIing down using the C

  • If by c-stick down towards the stage you mean down & towards, also no. You want to ASDI straight down (unless you're on a slope then it's directly into the slope)

  • What is teching and how do you do it?

  • Teching is when you press L or R within 1/3 of a second before hitting the ground, wall, or ceiling. As far as how to do this specific technique in the vid I explain it earlier in the comments here.

  • yea i use the L/R buttons for this 0_o

  • Is this worth practicing to death? Or is it too hard to do? Just curious. Does double sticking require prior knowledge of the angle of the oncoming attack's knockback? Is it like smash DI, where you have to smash the stick?

  • It doesn't take too much practice really. The only part that could take some getting used to is timing the tech before you get hit but still within a 1/3 of a sec b4 you get sent flying.

Yes, it requires knowing the angle of the attack's knockback since you need to be holding the analog perpendicular to that angle when you do it.

No, you can just hold the 2 directions and time the tech.

  • Ganondorf's up-tilt can't be double-stick teched, can it?

Oh how I hopped that he would warlock punch my missed rest... only to realize he wised up and thought to up-tilt instead

  • It can, just that it stops working at 25% iirc since it has more knockback at really low damage, and I think it might send at a very slightly higher angle. Even if you don't time the tech right you'll know whether it was possible if you skid right along the ground or go up into the air normally.

  • ok thanks for the tip; I think I might've been at the right percentage to able to dsdi a few times in our MM... but most likely I ended up dsdi'ing it at not the right angle.

  • Dude I need to learn this o.o That is freaking amazing. I see the explanation down you posted... dayum. I assume any character can do this or does jugs have to rest while doing it? <_<

  • It's just really hard if you can't anticipate it, which most of the times you can't since if you did you wouldn't get hit by it to begin with.

Another thing has to be the angle at which they hit you, see it only works for certain attacks, notice how Samus didn't just shoot a Charge shot, but instead Smashed at a downwards angle?

  • It's good for laggy moves or up-bs like if as Sheik they hold the edge and make you land on the edge then get up and hit you.

It does work for Samus' charge shot though, just not as well as others since it sends slightly more upward. Might not make much of a difference on DL64, but on smaller stages it would definitely be better than just DIing up and towards.

  • that first comment is not true because you usually get hit when in the lag of an attack or in the middle of a combo (when your character is stunned)

  • what in tarnation!

  • WTF, How dat happen

  • brawlpro likes

  • wow @ the fox upsmash. is that actually a DI making you go sideways or are you teching before you leave the ground

  • wait, tell me if this is right. smash DI down and then tech?

  • Nah.

"Before or as you're getting hit hold perpendicular to the direction you're sent normally towards the ground/wall/etc on the control stick, and hold the c-stick directly towards the ground/wall/etc. Then hit L or R to tech before you're hit (I think it's within 1/3 of a second before you get set flying). So for marth's f-smash on level ground, if you go diag up/left, hold down/left on control, down on c-stick, and then tech."

  • Love the ending.

  • your my 300th favorite!! :D

  • are there any examples of this done in a real match?

  • I think so, but probably not on here since I do it most as Jiggs after a rest and I think all those matches are against Ryoko who knows not to say, d-smash with Peach and to u-air instead which isn't as survivable with the technique since it's vertical. I remember getting wobbled to d-smashed by Atomsk using ICs as Bowser and teching the d-smash on tape somewhere though. It was pretty sexy, lol.

  • dam, I never knew u could DI with the C-stick....

  • lol i love this video. hearing jigglypuff yelling JEE GULLEEE is soothing

  • hai magus lolz

  • So how exactly is this tech done? I believe I tried with little success but is it when you press down on the control stick and up with the C stick?

  • Nah that's not it. Did you read all the comments? I explain it pretty well.

  • yeah sorry I just didn't see that it was one the first page.

  • Double.

    Stick.

    DI.

Thanks, Magus. You've improved my Ganon game and now you're helping my DI game.

I've only since learned that you can DI with the C-Stick.

You gonna be up with Mow, Cape, and us new guys on the fourth?

  • Possibly

  • good shit man

  • thanks a lot magus

  • OMG MAGUS, SHOW ME THIS IN PERSON LOL. i always get punished from missed rests but this will help me.

  • Okay, now how does DI work? I mean my DI is awful, i understand all of the above i just want to survive in the fray longer than usual. If u can help thnx

  • Before or as you're getting hit hold perpendicular to the direction you're sent normally towards the ground/wall/etc on the control stick, and hold the c-stick directly towards the ground/wall/etc. Then hit L or R to tech before you're hit (I think it's within 1/3 of a second before you get set flying). So for marth's f-smash on level ground, if you go diag up/left, hold down/left on control, down on c-stick, and then tech.

  • ok now excatly what buttons do u press and how fast or point do u press them

  • *Weight* - Lighter chars get more use of it since weight doesn't matter much when teching, but they die at much lower % if they were to take the hit to the air.

*Most Useful For* - Pichu. Very good traction, Lightest, Fast falling speed, Very good recovery.

*Least Useful For* - Luigi. Worst traction, Average weight, Floatiest, Poor recovery.

  • *Traction* - Low traction will make them slide off further, making a good horizontal recovery more important.

*Recovery* - Good horizontal recovery should be considered with low traction characters. It isn't really important on chars with a decent amount of traction since they would've died off the side at that point without teching anyway.

*Falling Speed* - Faster fallers will be able to tech along the ground at higher damages than floatier chars.

  • The most important thing by far when it comes to sliding too far off afterwards is traction. You have to be sure to tech-roll though. It cuts down the amount you slip off by A LOT. Peach's uncharged d-smash will have Luigi slip too far off if he tries to tech it after around 90%, even though he can survive when DIing up&towards the stage. Link however, can make it back even when he's above 200%. If he were to take the hit normally at that percent he'd go flying off VERY fast.

  • Jigg's pound doesn't actually help all that much though. If you do this on a really low hit (falco's d-smash for instance) you'll be pounding while still going flying off the edge of the screen and die.

  • does it work for all charecters all just jigg since most will just slide to there death while jigg has her/his punch to slow it down

  • Magic... plus knowing how DI works doesn't hurt either.

This vid is quite old btw, It's from 9/05 or so I believe.

  • ok.... how the fuk can u do that
