The police share much responsibility for this accident,and the officers involved in this chase should probaly be chared with a crime-and reckless conduct,minimally. The police endanger everyone on the roadway when they decide to chase someone.Why could'nt they have just followed them home or to a gas station,and been professionally patient.

The boys did not deserve to die. The cops though only did from what I see they should have done. They did not know it was only boys. Cops can not block every road, they have to stay on chase long enough to organize that stuff. I have many friends who just run from cops on their race bikes because they know that the cops know they can not catch them and their cameras can not read their cleverly placed plates, also we have some of the nations curviest roads(WNC), so cops dont try.

The police need to start re-thinking their policies on chasing down autos. All they need is a goddamn license plate number and description of the car (and possibly a description of the drivers). Ya know, they also have helicopters, some GPS, and stuff too. Too many unnecessary deaths occur because of these "chase down" policies. The storm troopers need to get their shit together and cut this crap out.

Did you not hear that they RAN A RED LIGHT which prompted the officer to take action pull them over. They were a danger to the public. If the officer did nothing, and they ran another light and killed somebody (maybe someone close to you), then the officer is liable and negligent since it's his job to keep crap like this off the roads.

They were all underage minors -- you know, as in dumbass kids. Did they deserve to die because some cop didn't use his head? A police officer cannot be held liable (nor found negligent) at all, for not chasing an automobile and actively not intervening. So that's total nonsense. By chasing them, and scaring them, he only exacerbated the situation and made it much more dangerous than it need to be. That's like many car chases. There are more intelligent ways to deal with the problem.

The cops have an obligation to follow cars that try to escape the police. Sure, if they had known that the kids were just joyriding, the cops shouldn't have taken the chase--but how the fuck are the cops supposed to know that it's just two kids?
