@fluffybacon LOL no At The Gates invented melodic death metal in 1992 and metalcore (on accident since their last album was weak and that sort of weak sound influenced metalcore). Besides Carcass wasn't that great their last album was so terrible that its probably the reason they split up, and when they came back in 2008 to tour again all they did was use the old members who had moved on to Arch Enemy after the split up to do the old Carcass songs while touring with Arch Enemy and thats weak!

Nowhere near enough said, Carcass helped create grindcore, and practically single handedly invented melodic death metal. A sucky band cannot create two genre's of music. Judging by your typing and so forth, you proberly listen to fake metal shit like slipknot and limp bizkit? If not then you certainly listen too some sort of rap.

Carcass released Heartwork (their first melodeath album) in late 1993.

At The Gates released The Red In The Sky Is Ours in 1992, and then With Fear I Kiss The Burning Darkness in 1993.

Sentenced released Shadows of the Past in 1991, and then North From Here in 1993.

Sure, Carcass was important in inventing melodeath, but they were hardly the only one, without even bring In Flames and Dark Tranquillity into the equation. Still, they're all a ton better than Limp Bizkit.
