  • If Foster Lager took America but storm, wait to they drink the Beer's we actual like.

  • That game looks fun!!!! Is there a league in Taiwan?

  • @SenMuJie I don't think so. China, Japan, Vietnam, they all have a bit of footy being played, but don't think there's any in Taiwan.

  • I love it how they showed a picture of Sydney when that is Rugby territory. Im sure it pissed off a lot of Victorians. For those hwo dont know what im talking about look up The "Barassi Line" on wikipedia

  • You raised some very good points Zach. Yes it is Australia's national sport, but saying that it's simple is a bit like saying that golf is simple. It looks easy enough... until you participate.

  • this is poor football to say the least....

  • There is no real strategy in this game. It is fun to watch, but it's mainly a clusterfuck.

  • @stevemize1126 Watching this video definitely won't give you the full story. No offense to the people playing, but the skill level in Australia is MUCH higher. AFL is one of the hardest games on the planet skill-wise; there are so many variables it's ridiculous. There may be no real strategy in this particular game, but at a professional level there certainly is :)

  • This game still makes NO SENSE

  • i don't really care what people say about aussies rules it is the best sport in the world big hits, bone crushing tackles, no pads, great goals, big marks, skills, fitness, speed & the passion!

  • Fosters is Australian for CRAP....Its the beer we export cos no Australian drinks it!!

  • @mammabubblebear 100% true i dont know anyone who drinks fosters lol... Melbourne carlton draught all the way

  • Man in chair above referee @0:29 .... Neckbrace. LMAO - Wonder if it was an injury from playing...

  • OK the first thing to learn how to play this game is to: say aussie properly. oz not aughs :P

  • hahaha i heard of it but i don't know the rules :P

I live in HK and Rugby is really popular here.

  • as i said its british bulldog with a ball

  • I wish one of these guys where the Saints though... ( My team )

  • WoW! They play aussie rules in America? I would have never had known

  • im english and when he said cricket is slow he really is wrong cricket is just a plain and simple pile of shit

  • in Australia:

    Queensland and NSW- Rugby league

Every other state - Aussie Rules.

  • This report is so far from the truth...

  • You ask why we wear such tiny pants, we ask why you wear such TIGHT pants.

  • It's great to see Americans taking up our national sport. One thing is bugging me though, whenever I hear an American say Aussie or Aus it sounds like they are saying arsy, it's pronounced ozzy.

  • Wow so much Man flesh together

  • please this is more like melbourne rules lol not real football

  • i love the description, so true.

  • Football players are a bunch of drunken, coke sniffing sexually frustrated fuckwits. Any parent that allows their parents to play this game has to be a yobbo or just plain stupid courtesy of the media.

  • mate your an absolute fucking dick head @olkilldevil20

  • @olkilldevil20 "Any parent that allows their parents to play this game" what so a team of 80 year olds? good one cock head.

  • National sport? It's non existent up north, lol.

  • @Kse7en a bit mis-informed... northern game - rugby league, southern game - aussie rules

  • @Kse7en Up north as in Cairns and Darwin? Umm ...

  • @DannyEmbling C'mon, you know i mean NSW and QLD are Rugby League states. Cairns and Darwin, well...they're not exactly Sydney and Brisbane.

  • @Kse7en Ok yeah I assumed so, just being a smart arse as they play a fair bit in the NT :), and yeah NSW is about 90% rugby league, with union, soccer and aussie rules fighting over the other 10%. Except for the Riverina which is about 50/50. Qld is also predominantly rugby league, although Aust rules is fairly strong there.

You're right its not the "national" code, its more that its a "native" code, one endemic to the nation. I think that's where the arguable use of "national" comes from.

  • @DannyEmbling I'd say 'native' is a good way of putting it. 'National' does tend to carry a sense of arrogance with it.

  • @DannyEmbling well considering it is the most popular sport in WA, VIC, SA, NT, TAS and they have teams in QLD and NSW it is the closest thing to Australia's national sport. But ye at least we have variety in Australia, i wouldn't want Australia to just play AFL then we would suck at international sports =/.

  • @tru3b1u31 It's true, plus we have the added entertainment of continually arguing about it!

  • Yeah I guess New York took Collingwood's name? GO MAGPIES!!!

  • No aussie would have a bloody clue what a bloomin' onion is, unless he'd been to the US and eaten at an Outback Steakhouse.

  • @rotcafarg and who drinks Fosters? again only at the Outback Steakhouse lol

  • @bubjazz mate i drink carlton draught thats the official beer of the footy

  • @rotcafarg Racist bastard. Think before you comment. Seriously, GET FUCKED!!

  • Looks like fun. Too bad there's not any place to play and learn to play closer to where I live in LA

  • Oh my god, I fucking LOVE football !!!!!

  • go new york, its good to see the yanks playing our national sport

  • I used to play for the Los Angeles Crows before I joined the Army. In Iraq, I used to host a practice here and there on my offtime. Now that I'm home, I cant find anyone who wants to play in San Luis Obispo. totally sad

  • im irish, living in america... and aussie rules has to be one of my fav sports to watch. its like gaelic rules but more violet therefore better. if only americans could open up and accept the game for what it is they would come to love it...go swans

  • I don't mind afl when it gets to the final season and the quality picks up, but I prefer rugby league

  • Well worth watching, thanks for putting this up.

  • yer it is

  • The good parts?? Cough...cough...

  • Nah, it's played in the BEST parts and it's slowly taking over that shit rugby game in NSW and Qld.

  • do some research, we play in only TWO states really and our finals series and grandfinal outrated the AFL's, members increased 8% this year and crowds up by ten per cent... i wonder who is slowly taking over?... western sydney team is going to be a joke haha ull c

  • i play footy, but league is sick...its tougher...those blokes r insane!

  • Mate,

What are you smoking?Where are you getting your numbers from? NRL outrated the AFL Grand final. If this were in fact true, It might have something to do with the fact that the Storm got in and won the final. No disrespect mate but Melbournians will watch the fucking grass grow if their team is involved and when you have only one team representing 4 odd million people it is likely many will tune in for the sake of nothing better to do. This doesn't mean they like the game.

  • Let's talk facts now too mate. How many Victorian born players in that mighty Storm team as well brother. Answer - 0. And there is not likely going to be any within the next decade too despite those fellas being in the NRL for the past decade or so. What inroads is the code making. Fuck all. The only fellas that rock up to the NRL in Melbourne would be expat QLDs and NSWelshmen and the odd kiwi because they don't have a union team yet!

  • All the boys in that team come from either QLD or NSW. Matey I'm a mad Brissy Lions supporter (from their inception too in 1987) and this year we had 8 players who played senior matches, of which 5 were regular senior players who were born and bred in QLD. Members increased by 8%. Elaborate. Produce some numbers.

  • . If they have so many members why don't they rock up on game day. Crowd figures in the NRL rival that of those in the A-League (pitiful). Traditional powerhouse teams like Collingwood, Essendon and Carlton always have ridiculous amounts of members despite the ladder position at the end of the year. The Adelaide Crows and Freo collectively would have as many members as many NRL teams combined.

  • Mate, you are just pissing your pants at the thought of a second Sydney team, stealing the few people that go and watch rugby league live. You are obviously from Sydney and don't venture outside of your little bubble much or read newspapers. There is a place for all codes; The rules, league, union and soccer, and to compare and contrast is rather ignorant and immature, but hey i don't mind acting like a ten year old sometimes.

  • do ur research and shut ur fat hole dip shit... A-league averages like 4-7 thousand, we average about 17ish thousand for a shit game (sydney games with interstate visiting teams) and we have like 7 teams just in sydney and 4 of them are western sydney... u have no sense discretion do ya... just ur imaginary fairy land numbers (if u want the numbers go to the NRL site or look up some backdated newspapers from finals time) that you didnt even bother looking up...

  • you have ur statistic sorely wrong

  • do u catch a unicorn to the games too? most AFL teams are one STATE teams not 6 team CITIES... geez talk about being in a bubble. Ever heard of common sense? of course theres no VIC based players in the storm, coz victorians are pussies and ur wet ass rainy fields arent hard or fast enuff for proper sport, and their is basically no junior comp to speak anywhere in VIC

  • (mind you i actually like AFL, just hate their arrogant followers. Do the reasearch then talk to me... evrething is on the up and up with us, where as you guys have to resort to blowing half ur budget on a west sydney team and poach our talent and administrators... that says ALOT about ur game id say... we breed em u steal em

  • Wake up, get out and back your opinions with real numbers and facts. Go the LIONS, the Broncos, the REDS, the Roar and the Socceroos! Being from Brisbane I have grown to respect all codes and have encountered morons like you my whole life. Grow up mate. If you dont like something dont watch it!

  • this is fun

  • wish this ridiculous game was never invented...

  • your obviously not an australian. and really if you live in america and only get to watch these games of course your not gonna like it. come to australia and watch a real AFL game before you call it shit.

  • erm i Am Australian and it isthe most ridiculous game ever invented... It was invented by an Irishman... makes sense...

  • Auxodium, you're a fuckwit.

  • typical reply from a tardball fan

  • well it was get used to it if you hate this sport then dont watch it!!!!!

  • this guy shane is sending ecveryone emails on my behalf from the ASSA. your are an asshole shane.

  • man your a fuking loser hahahaha

  • well it was so get used to it

  • Tom Wills the guy that first made footy in 1858 wanted it to be a winter sport to keep cricket players fit during winter....i think he'd freak out if he saw just how popular it is today.

  • Its football not soccer -.-

  • tigerland, we fight with fury we're from tiger land (:

    afl owns

  • oh when the saints go marching in. lol.

hell, at least the saints and the tigers each have a riewoldt. :)

  • oh yeah btw, no one eats bloomin onions down under, I didnt know wtf it was until it was on an aussie tv show that went to the US for a few weeks.

  • GO GEELONG!

  • terrbible mash up? just watch some more afl videos and youll see. this is international rules by the way, watch the professional league just search AFL in youtube.

  • AFL (aussie Rules football) is the BEST game in the world!!!

  • @aflfan37

Yes way better than our stupid game we like to call football

  • "You have to dribble it after a certain number of steps."

    WRONG!

You have to bounce it after a certain distance.

  • The team from Boston wears red socks. How appropriate.

  • heyyy rugby is a damn good import too!!

    lol

i want to play this so badly.

  • GO Magpies and Hawthorne!

  • haha..awesome alright..i love the fact they kept the same unifroms.. so sweet :-)

  • hahaha awesome

  • LOL at the commentator...

    he said Ossie

Silly yank, its spelt aussie, but pronounced ozzy.

    silly cunt

  • 1:13

    IS THAT ALAN DIDAK??

  • great story

  • What a game! What a history! Bizarre that Americans would have the patience to even try..anyway...I personally don't care where it's played, as long as I can watch it...world's most amazing spectator sport with skill...

  • IMAGINBE THIS WAS AMERICAN FOOTBALL

    it will be like

    OH WTF STOP THE HOLDING

  • Americans belting the shit out of each other...nice!, good to see the magpies lost, haha!!!

  • What the fuck are 'blooming onions' they're not fucking australian, either is drbbling the ball along the ground, you bounce the fucking ball every 10 metres.

other than that, i enjoyed the clip, what with the sheila playing though, that's bullshit.

  • here is one fact.

    1. you are a fuckhead.

  • hahahahaha =D

  • grimmy you fucking yellow belly, where have you been hiding ?

  • 3:20 is FAIL

  • gota luv this game

  • Melbourne shuffle ftw

  • thats old now

  • lol the dance is not some type of fad lmao,

it will always be around when their r people that have a Love for the music, its 2 bad that you guys say stuff like that, lol "its old" no, its not,

o and btw, am from the US,

and it has just started hear.

so what you guys don't Rave anymore? is that old to? lmao, i still rave, and as long as i go 2 raves i will shuffle.

  • well im sorry i didnt know you were from the US

what im tryin to say is that shuffle is an old trend from last year here in australia

and yes there are ppl who are dedicated to shuffle its just not as much as last year

  • It's friendly enough...WE HAD THESE FUCKING CUNTS!

  • Rieeeeeese, you're practically famous now! All these haters are jealous of your intelligence and perception and artistic skills. Keep it up and have fun in LA!

  • How do you make the video look like that? Lol, can you teach me? I've been trying to figure out how to do that for the longest time.

  • That was the worse display of aussie footy ever. Aussies dont need padding, americans do HA

  • Wow that kid who was playing was really good. Takes balls to play senior footy when you're 14. And he scored like 6 goals in the 9-a-side match and had some really good marks and tackles.

  • when an american makes it to the AFL i will probably laugh

  • yeah, especially when they realise they can't wear protective padding

  • looks kinda cool i play rugby and looks exactly like it,

  • dumb dumb American who did this video

  • Ease up dickhead.

They are giving it a go, having some fun.

The more publicity, the better it is for the sport.

No need for the standard dumb American response.

These are the ones willing to give foreign ideas a chance. These are the 'smart' ones, mate.

  • agreed...there aren't many non-ignorant Americans out there

  • Permit me to drop the challange glove and incite some debate (or anger) LOL

An aussie friend of mine once said:

US Football is popular in US schools because everyone gets to do 1 task & be involved.

1 Guy only throws the ball

    Some other guys only catch.

The fat guys get to be "Perry the Refrigerator"

.. on down to the cheerleaders and marching band.

And every player wears safety gear.

Time to play a real tough man's sport. Aussie Rules Football !!! FOOOOTTTIEEEEEEEE

  • That's Australian for fun =)

  • I LOVE this game! I found it first on cable a few years ago and got hooked. I worked at a summer camp with a bunch of Aussies and they showed me how to play. That's a rough damm game they're playing there.

  • Watch more videos INSIDE :

    collegefootballgame,biz !!!

  • i'd like to see one of these teams go against an NFL football team, they would get fucked up.. football players are freaking huge, fast, and strong

  • Yes, but would you mix American football with soccer? The idea is ridiculous. Aussie rules players are not selected for being huge; a range of sizes can play in different positions, flexibility and manoeuvrability are very important, and skill matters more than size. It's not a 1-D, stop-go game. Having played the game, it's not particularly violent, although it is a body-contact sport and there are injuries, but there seems to be a need to make it appear violent to satisfy US sports blood lust.

  • A game of aussie rules is 80 minutes of constant running and activity. American football is 5 seconds of action followed by 'go sit on your arse on the sideline and drink gatorade for 20 mintues' an NFL football team would be off the pace and struggling for breath after about 5 minutes

  • FUCK THIS.

    PRINCETON RULES!!

  • Fosters?... We only sell that goat piss to foreigners!

  • XXXX all the way mates

  • Greek Australian here says Aussie Footy RULES and beets NFL padding pumped faggots any day . HAWTHORN HAWKS 4 EVER Screw MAGGIES

  • oh btw wtf bloomin onion??! not aussie by any stretch of the imagination. never heard of it!

  • yeah lol

they got them in the US at a restaurant called

    "The Outback"

    Its messed up

  • you dudes will probably never appreciate the immense greatness of this game until you see a game at the MCG in melbourne.

    p.s. CARN THE MIGHTY 'PIES!!!

  • they do not hit nearly as hard as USA football, its like a car crash every hit.

  • ya but the aussies dont have any pads on! americas get all the pads and helmets and everything

  • cus American hits are literally as hard as a car crash, they hit hard enough that the guy getting hit pulls more g's than the space shuttle on take off. even under pads its more. aussie guys have come and played American and said they couldn't believe how hard they got hit.

  • whatever your full of shit

  • im not saying Aussie isn't cool, i still think its cool, they just don't hit as hard. just like in rugby and whatnot. its just different. hell i played soccer i didn't even play football in college, so im not putting it down just saying American football hits harder. so no disrespect, there is nothing wrong with the game, just American football hits are way harder, both are still good just different.

  • have u ever played aussie football? its not that we hit less or more, its that we hit a different way... i still reckon it'd be as hard as anytype of ball/contact sport, and we dont need any padding or protection like yanks do =P

  • tough sport...buh i prefer rugby :)

  • look up 'AFL Hits' on youtube, maybe that'll open your eyes

  • Take your pads off then you girls. The rugby league, union and even aussie rules fellas would eat all those steroid pumping poofs. Watch those NFL get puffed and run out of steam after a 5 second play only to get a couple of minutes to get their breathe back.

  • that was a fukup ,i spam wrong link

    watch?v=ad9hBMNrg3U

  • real aussie football

    watch?v=KbUYVnE2QD8

  • Well i got to do a Kazzaley on ya ass for being a dropkick,no calton rep,no vb/draft, poor show of dribble,ya like the hip an shoulder ,nudge.have fun ehh.thanks for da add.

  • Word Mate, They look like sissies at a playground and aint got a clue what AUSSIE RULES IS and never will. They should watch a Grand Final Match and see some bones ,noses busted up and getting on with the match..THATS AUSSIE RULES

  • The pro version is a bit tougher, but this was an amateur match between mixed ex-pat and US players. I did play with the Cincinnati Dockers some years ago, and it wasn't as fast, focused and tough as in the Melbourne Amateur League in the 1970s, but it was good fun. Boston was a good, solid team then, as now. But the idea is to enjoy the game itself, not the blood and injuries. That's gladiatorism, part of the downfall of Rome. Aussies Rules should be fast, open, free-flowing, almost anarchic!

  • some of these guys sound gay....rugby all the way

  • yea no one drinks fosters...

but i play aussie rules in australia and its the best sport ever

  • this is a sport i love to know more about

  • What is a bloomin onion?

I have never had one and I am an Aussie. I have had onion rings though. They look good. I hope it catches on here :-)

  • Agreed... No one drinks fosters. we just export that shit.

  • ahahaa i was just about to say that,,,,,,,we just export fosters to other countries so we don't have to drink that shit

  • As a personal trainer I'd rather play some rugby or spend hours in the gym instead of getting insured injures from this sport!

  • Other people spend hours on the track or in the gym so that can play Aussie rules and NOT get injured.

  • Its The Adrenaline of 4 Quaters that makes you never need a Gym,wanka

  • Wanka??

    What's up your arse?

Unless you want to play at 5th division throughout your career, of course you need a gym, and you need to run as well. You can't get fit from 4 quarters of footy once a week for half of the year.

    WANKER!

  • so much different from rugby!!

  • I like how they use "Magpies" and "Demons"...same for Collingwood and Melbourne

  • Im skeptical of urban American players tho. I play basketball & football & there's always one screaming about a papercut every minute.

Now imagine a shoulder-ram to the breadbasket. Call a medic fer this chump.

    I love these contact sports!

  • I love Australian football. It's probably one of the few things I'll miss when I move back to the States. Although it's not nearly as violent as it's made out to be in this video..

  • AWESOME!!!

  • Ha ha ha lmao! There ain't nothing Aussie about Foster's lager!

I had the craziest aussie rules coach. His favorite thing to yell during times of good or bad was "BLOODY CUNT!!!".

Check out footy in AZ at azafl(dot)com!

  • Haha yonkers is chill

  • sounds fun but it would beat the crap out of me

  • no padding!! go on aussies, show the yanks a man's sport!

  • ....

  • why do they have teams called new york city but they are australian makes no sense.

  • Why does your statement make no sense at all?

    Also... yummy yummy manly men.

  • ---> read the desc. normally when people have questions it's always already answered in the deceptions. You just click the blue (more info) text.

There are lots of aussies livin in the us.

  • crazy stuff
