The fish are in great shape and the tank is by no means over stocked but I think

the rock work looks horrible. It takes your gaze away from the beautiful fish you have.

A more natural look would e much better IMO.

and water conditions in tanganika and malawi lakes are different...

just put a siphon hose in and hover it above the sand... it'll suck in any debris and crap floating on it... any sand that gets sucked up can easily be put back into the tank from the bucket after the water is out.
