I love airmatic you can have comfort or stiff sport by a touch of a button and just like every strut it fails after some years. And Arnott make them for 399$ a piece vs 1200$ dealer
I HAD A 2003 E55 AMG SPENT HOURS SERCHIN AROUND NET DIDNT FIND MUCH HELP ENDED UP GETTING IT DIAGNOSED BY MERC SPECIALIST WITH MB STAR , SHOWED UP AS A REDUCTION VALVE WHICH MADE ONLY THE REAR GO DOWN AND NOT THE FRONT EVERYTHING ELSE WAS FINE JUST THE REDUCTION VALVE ON THE AIRCOMPRESSOR! THANK GOD IT WAS AS SIMPLE AS THAT! PEOPLE SAY RELAY ETC I CHEKED EVRYTHING, THANKGOD DIDNT HAVE TO PULL DOWN THE SUBFRAME TO CHECK PIPES UNDER THAT LOL;) GOOD LUCK TO ALL FIXING THIS AIRMATIC SHIT! LOL;)
Just an update to all the comments. This was a few years ago and the car was running on almost 10 year old air suspension parts. It has since then been fixed with new parts from Arnott's Industries. These new parts are top quality and have an even better price. Car has run like a dream ever since then.
I see on you video, that when you click on airmatic button,it raise your car on second level(2 lamps blinked)...I have s320 w220,and same thing happens in my car...Can you tell my why?thanks, and sorry for my English
haha i had a 2000 s500 with the same problem, air would leak through the strut and i would fill it with jb weld and after a couple of months it would happen again and again i bought a new strut from the company 4Mercedes and sold the damn car. but it seems like everyone with this model has this problem.
Its funny... I just got rid of my 2000 S500, with that same problem... Its very expensive to fix.. Run from it!!! Iam happy now with my Infiniti M35...
You know what, my s430 has the exact same problem. Although when i press the button all it says is vehicle rising, my car doesn't rise even after 5 minutes...

this airmatic is shit, nothing but trouble !
it cost several thousand dollars a year.
in the winter they freeze up ,leaving you stranded on the side of the road..
don't buy a car with it!
better yet don't buy a mercedes ,period.!
