you cant compare mens wages to womens wages as if both genders are equally likely to do every job. Men are far more likely to do backbreaking dangerous work like working in the coalmines or fighting in wars. Women dont do those dangerous jobs nearly as often. You cant compare a babysitter or a secretary to a coalminer or lumberjack who get killed all the time as if they are the same.
What about the huge homeless gap? every homeless person you see is men!
Common experience shows us that women place far less importance on their jobs than men do. For a woman, a job plays much less of a role in her identity than it does for a man.
We all know this to be true, but for further reading go to Huffington Post and search for Generation Y Women Expectations. Loads more on the web too.
Women like the whole "work-life balance" thing. Men do too of course but men are much more likely to pour their souls into their work in the form of "going the extra mile".
This is a sad reality. Women have ever since struggled to go up the ladder. Now, there is still discrimination against women. I hope the society will correct this one.
@2011rhythmdivine didn't you listen to the whole video? Most the reason women aren't going to hte top of the ladder is because if the amount of work that goes into it. Most women are looking for some level of balance between work and home.
I like women who are proud of the fact that they are women! I like also good specialists with no matter man or woman (but I haven't met good technical specialist - woman yet).
Also you should take into account that old thinking man (working) and woman (at home with children) is consistent with biology and human nature! If you want to fight with biology and human nature - Good Luck! You need to change God mistakes first !
@NiceTubeAccount if you ever write a book im buying it!! you made very valid points in your comments dont forget to make an E-book too and make youtube videos to market it.
Moreover I agree with tolerance but in practice it looks like feminists take control over business and they fight with men now. They joke about real man (like poor boys, dogs, animals) and accept polite gays (as it is best friend of a girl). Maybe a little bit of colored.
Also "be equal" and "have the best employee" is not the same. In practice the global diversity programs force to employ women not "better employees".
Several issues should be considered also, I am not able to post all of them (good topic for book, maybe somday I will write one).
First of all the HR (Human Resources) sector is dominated in fact by women. Unfortunately, they ask questions like "why grass is green? or judge by emotions (NLP techniques etc.)" for software technical positions (no comment).
Well Done. Lets support more women on the higher workforce. Women can do it if they were given the privilige and priority to do so. I glad my father allows me to be ambitious and given the challenge to do great possibilities with contineous support of my husband. Male support for Women who can do great things and role responsibilities.
That's a good point; that women may have families to take care of that seem to take up some of their time from work (more so than men).
That being said, I shudder at the idea of my father attempting to change my diapers or trying to feed me as an infant. That 5% deficit seems worth it in my eyes!
