@fishee5 Just because a business has a few million dollar revenue does not mean they make millions of dollars. Profit margins are small in small businesses. Most restaurants make millions of dollars a year and make next to no profit.

If you are able to make ends meet and you are working less than 12-20 hours a day, 7 days a week, then you have resources you are not allocating to profitable projects. Could you take those hours of playing video games, or watching American Idol, and invest that into YOUR passion instead? Most likely. @CmanCorporations if you actually cared to look into his family's history you'd know his family moved from Russia, being poor as hell, living with a lot of people in a very small apartment and his dad worked in the local liquor store up to the point he eventually owned the liquor store. (Owning a liquor store doesn't make you rich..) Gary build that into a multi-million dollar business. So yes, he is now a rich guy. Started out poor..

@fishee5 -- to create a 'cushion' of safety. every month when one gets the pay check it is advised the first thing is to 'pay thyself first' with 10%. meaning ten percent of every thing i earn i put aside for a rainy day.
and this way i always have at least a bit of something to save me...

I told myself when I was a teenager that I would retire by the time I was 40. I did just that. I still have an income but its passive which means that I don't have to work for it or for someone else. @fishee5 he built the equity for his business by working in his family business, working in a liquor store from "7 in the morning 'til ten at night, for seven straight years..." If you are able to make ends meet and you are working less than 12-20 hours a day, 7 days a week, then you have resources you are not allocating to profitable projects. If you want to do what you love you have to be all about it all the time. passion takes no breaks.

His dad was pretty much self made and that was passed down in his DNA. Step outside of your judgement and listen to what he has to say, decide then if it is for you or not. He says that it took millions to take his dad's business to where it is, but he also says that he made his personal brand with much less and that it does not take that to get started
