Just like you I'm very into Hendrix, but I just started covering him. Got the basic rythm but still, the fill-ins and add's between the chords are hard to find out.

im in the beginning stages of learning this song atm and I'm wondering ... how did you learn how to play this? was it through tab-reading? Did you learn it by ear? Did you just watch other people playing it on youtube and figure it out from that? Somehow i dont believe that you learnt it by ear .. but I could be wrong.

thanks ! yeah first i started by looking at tabs but it didnt feel right the way i played it from tabs so i started listening more carefully and watching other covers and thats how i learned the basic rhythm and structure then i just added some of my own fills in there and there u have it

ANd I think Mayer covers Hendrix pretty well

@iplayguitar420 Its not tuned down a whole halfstep if u listen to it. But it's somewhere between a whole step and a half step, so what I did is I just tuned it like it was in the original. Mayer definitely does it in his style, which im not a fan of :D But still im not a mayer hater, gotta respect the fact that he is covering Hendrix tunes.
