Thank you for your comment. I saved for a while to get the FT-950 and I have been well rewarded for my patience. It is a truly outstanding radio, and I believe it is the best rig available under $2000. As for the antenna, yes the antennna in use during the recording is the Hustler 4BTV. Note the S8/QSB signal from Uruguay to my S/E, and the S9+5dB signal from Vancouver to my N/W. 73 de we5i

What a nice radio,I looked it up to see it's selling for 1.400$ a bit pricy for me.Concidering the 897d.Are you using the antenna that you mounted on the ground and ran radial wires around it?
