Thank you so much for posting this. I read the book over 20 years ago in high school and I was so hooked on this story. A horrible tragedy that happened to this family and I just could not help but get caught up in it and still am to this day; so sad the lives the Clutter family could have had. I loved the book more but the movie 'Capote' and 'Infamous' are incredibly well done.
thank you for posting this! I'm studying Capote right now (on my own, no school) and I plan to hone my craft as a budding writer by gleaning every lesson he can teach my via his words. Stephen King likens literature to direct telepathy, so I spend all my time listening to Truman. I will be pulished.
Tedious? Capote was almost as compelling as the "In Cold Blood". Great cast, great writing. A fantastic film. As the film is set in the 60s, I wouldn't expect it to be contemporary.
That's not really all that clear, jeroid. So, I think it's understandable how one can make a mistake. All you wrote was "uncontemporary". And, judging from your less than eloquent reply, it wouldn't surprise if you had meant the year the film was made.
Next time someone misunderstands a posting, why not try politely explaining yourself. Don't assume people will automatically know what you're thinking.
Taking it that everybody understands that a period film is going to have music that is contemporary to the time in which it is set. Not a rule, just what usually happens.
Usually, but music is also used to help create a certain mood; not because that is "what usually happens". Doing things that are not usual often makes for great film-making.
15 years after the Birdcage, still attractive.

I remember him from "Judging Amy" - I didn't know he was also a screenwriter.

I have a good screenplay but no idea and no interest in writing one. It is a jackpot story but I dont know what to do, to get it done?

Everyone thinks their idea is a "jackpot" idea.

What have you written? If your writing is half as bad as you ability to judge a film then I don't imagine you've published much.

I concur...

Published quite a bit actually, plus all the stuff I've written that's been filmed and broadcast. Cheers.

Music contemporary to the 60s, you twit. What, did you think I meant music from the year the film was MADE? Jesus christ.
