Mr. Marc from Carnivore here (yes, "that Mr. Marc", playing guitar there, on the left side of the screen). There were several different reasons why Peter was able to sing such extreme, inflammatory or humorous lyrics while "keep[ing] a straight face - like he meant it". It was mostly because he DID mean it, or at least embrace/endorse the underlying concepts. He also loved to press people's buttons to provoke a response, both on stage and off. He was never comfortable with predictable behavior.

I'm honored that you cared enough to comment & pay tribute to Peter's incredible legacy; 2) Yes, it is really me (with a LOT more hair than I have now! ;-) FYI: The "Retaliation" record was recorded in 2 phases: 1st phase @ the original "System's II Studios" in Bklyn, NYC: bass & drums - 2nd phase @ Pyramid Sound Studios in Ithaca, NYS: guitars/vocals/keyboards/sound effects & mixing. Pete randomly picked up a hammer & banged it around in the air during ALL his vocals!
