Here's what I don't understand. Nobody seemed to know Omar here. None of the boys recognised him, to the point that he had to fire the shotgun before they took him serious. Even when Bodie heard his name, he didn't know who he was and when they told Weebay he didn't acknowledge him. Throughout the rest of the series Omar is portrayed as a hood legend that everyone knows, but that reputation didn't seem to be there on his introduction. What gives?

Throughout the rest of the series he's walking around the hood with everyone shouting "Omar's comin'" while running away. He's a legend. Yet in his first scene nobody knows him and he reacts angrily when Brandon gives away his name during a robbery. I've read that Omar's character ended up being way bigger than the writers initially planned, so maybe that explains this little inconsistency
