hi i had my eeg done today i dont no if i have it yet but i had jump and kick today with the flashing lights i no how you fell had to get all he gell out my hral
My son is having an EEG tomorrow and I have to keep him up all night tonight so I searched EEG's on youtube and found you. My son has Autism and they are checking for seizures. Thanks for the informative video, seems like you have a pretty great Dad too
Nice video...I just had my ambulitory EEG on for 72 hours...but my results did not come out good like yours. I am so happy that your starting to grow out of your epilepsy. Congrats
Aivan160G was right - I'm from the south of england. Does the Australian accent sound that similar to the British one? I guess I'm used to the British accent, so I can tell the difference more easily
This is a great video. It shows epilepsy as something normal that normal people have - instead of 'freaky' or 'devastating'. It normalises it and it's good because epilepsy is not a 'curse' (when I mention that I have epilepsy, mainly in reply to people who insist that I should drive and I reply I cannot because of my epilepsy plus I don't want to drive), I get patronising, pitying responses which is wrong. Why people have to push their own views onto others? I LIKE being 'green' and walking!
Amen 'NadezhdaRozagy1'!!! I'm 36 and have been recently diagnosed w/ temporal lobe epilepsy (abnormal EEG and PET scan showed a very small lesion of the left hemisphere that my brain MRI did not pick up). Anyway, I'm glad that you commented that epilepsy is something normal that normal people have. I think that when people hear the word 'epilepsy' they freak out and 'head for the hills'; it doesn't have to be like that!
When I had EEG scan, they used some sort of sound and I saw these incredible fluid rings of colour blending into each other, from intense white in the middle to red to light blue to darker blue on the outside of the ring - it was pulsating, liquidy and felt alive. It also gave me a sense of euphoria. I vowed to one day paint what I saw - it is still so vivid in my mind. I have seizures when I'm tired or stressed. I see it as a warning to me that I need to take things easy and have a break.
I used to have awake seizures where things would become very small and far away then it went away in my 20-s. 35 and pregnant, I slipped and fell, hitting my head really hard. I started collapsing. I have Asperger's syndrome and was told it is 35 times more common for Autistic people to develop epilepsy than for any other group. However, epilepsy makes me creative and I enjoy perceiving world in a different state to what everyone else experiences (I also have synesthesia - I hear in colour).
I dislike that test, the glue is so hard to get out of my hair. I think you filming this was great, and I hope the test shows that you are getting better and that you may even outgrow your Epilepsy. I pray that all results are good, and I love your dad's humor
I had those before, it was along time ago. It is fun because I got t play Videogames all night LOL. I hope you have good results my friend. Encephalogram means "To draw the brain" which is what is going on via the scanner. *Meowpurr*
I think it's really cool that you don't seem to let any of this get you down. I had a hard time for a while accepting that I had epilepsy, you are an encouragement. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Good video, I will share it with my friends, what did the results say? I also get a EEG about once every second year, but my wires are attached to the chest, legs and arms. Interesting with the light, are there warnings on computergames in the UK. There was a game a couple of years ago, that made people drop like flies. Nice to hear from you again and your dad seems to have a good sense of humor,
Here in America they drop like flies too Erik. It's the strobes, some you can see others you cant..but your brain still can. We have those warnings here as well on video games and even some movies
Thank you for making this video. I will be having my first eeg done tomorrow. Its nice to know what to expect. Thanks again and blessings ~ Dina

yeah its about a 1/3 of autistic people later develop temporal lobe epilepsy, interestingly not the generalised form.
