  • Hmm. It seems that the name itself is misleading. They're calling these things heaters and almost avoiding the word space heater. There have been enough fires caused by space heaters for people to be cautious. No matter how safe and effective edenpure claims they are, I still think they're dangerous.

I can't belief edenpure used a fireman for a testimonial. Hope he hasn't lulled people into believing these things are safe. Bottom line is whether they're safe or not.

  • I have an Edenpure heater, and I'm glad I bought it re-manufatured at a lesser cost. ($280 bucks) Still a lot of money I spent 3 years ago, And I have never seen any savings (factoring in electric costs) It is much safer (I have many times left it running while away from home) and also a great comfortable even heating device compared to the box heaters you're comparing it with. Bottom line for me: Would I buy another Eden Pure heatet when the infared quartz lamp burns out? Not for that price

  • yea I cleaned the filters weekly. listen sal-------amander, I build, enginer and fabricate high end muscle cars and though edencrap has allot of screws holding it together the flaw is in the so called inferred bulbs and there connections. they are made to fail so you have to replace them.Isa nots a dommmmy.

  • edenpure suck. tonight i took my second one apart.we purchased two 3 yrs ago used them about 200 hrs and 1 quit working. used the oyher maybe 50 more and guess what, yea thts rite dead. the heating eliments conect wires dont stay in there ends. totall scam and were out $600

  • @238raymo . Did you ever clean the filter. Probably not.

  • i am a heating and air conditioning contractor. this is a joke.bob vila will tell you anything for a buck. dont waste your money on this ripoff product

  • Like religion and baldness, there's always going to be somebody to sell you an answer you're looking for.

  • CONTINUED: You don't test the ability of this heater by bring a room up to temp ONCE. You test it by running it in a room for an extended period. Did you do that? No you did not. Your test is flawed. But you're an opinionated person who knows everything, so you don't like to be corrected by other people, so you keep making excuses for your incompetent tests. That's fair, there's people like you everywhere. You just gotta know when to spot 'em...like the scammers!

  • If you do a Internet search on the Eden Pure heaters you will soon discover I'm not the only one who came to the conclusion they don't save you money in comparison to most electric heaters.

  • Based on your same methodology or hysteria...

  • Thank you for this informative video.

I think that Eden Pure is being very deceptive in their advertising. I wish that everyone would realize that any electric space heater provides the same amount of heat per watt-hour. I can see the advantage of being safer, but I don't think that this is why people are buying them. I don't think that they have four-hundred dollars of safety engineered into the design anyway. (My opinion.)

  • Sadly a great many people are buying these heaters expecting to save money. I have met 3 or 4 so far. What's especially surprising is the negative response I received from some of the people who sell these heaters. Any way thanks for the positive feedback..

  • V or Var is an electrical measurement you applied

yourself in one of your video's? Eden Pure 1000's produce 5000 BTU's heat. The upstairs of my home has a 98,000 btu heat loss, so it should not be able to be heated with TWO Eden Pures. However TWO Eden Pure heaters placed properly create a better heat than my central warm air system, with the limiting factor being temperature. Below the 30 degree mark they become less effective, and central heat then runs also. INFRARED HEATED COPPER RULES.

  • Let me ask you a simple question. The Eden Pure model I tested uses around 12 amps at 110 volts, and produces about 5000 BTUs of heat. My cube heater uses about 12 amps at 110 volts, and produces 5000 BTUs. My temperature test verified my inexpensive cube heater was able to raise the room temperature as well as the Eden Pure model. Aside from the safety advantages of the Eden Pure model, how can anyone say it has any advantage over a majority of the other fan driven resistance heaters?

  • OK Kdaveem. I am a trained HVAC pro, with competency in Elite load calculation software. I understand heating and cooling buildings. Your

talking V's which have nothing to do with BTU's in the practical sense of heating a building. Maybe I should create a Video response to your Humble opinion concerning Eden Pure heaters. You don't own a Eden Pure do you? I sold 500 Eden Pure heaters my first season in business, and largely by customer referral. I think I will make you a video very soon.

  • I don't understand what Vs are. I only understand power input and heat output. After running a test of my neighbors Eden Pure heater in comparison to cube heater, I was not able to detect any difference. If you understand something I am overlooking, please explain it to me, and I would be glad to correct any errors in my video. I happen to think the Eden Pure is a nice heater, but how can it save a person on their energy bill, in comparison to using an inexpensive cube heater?

  • No abc12345comcast, If you are a sales man who rips people off and does no research. Edenpure is the same as any space heater in efficiency if you do a seer calculation (5k BTU for edenpure/any other 1500w space heater.) You are gonna find them to be the exact same. The only difference is parts that break after the warranty at a high price to repair.

  • @abc1456comcast I think Vs would be an abbreviation for "versus".

  • Another genius who knows nothing about Eden Pure products. Surely you aren't narrow minded enough to believe Eden Pure claims 50% savings in ALL cases. I have two Eden Pure units and they work perfect in my old house. However they will work even better in homes with good insulation, doors and windows. Ozone eats odor like nothing else it's activated oxygen and will remove odor in even the worst situations. Your reviews are as lousy as your videos.

  • The main reason Eden Pure sells so many heaters, is a majority of people who buy them are convinced this heater is going to produce more heat than conventional electric heaters. If this heater was advertised on the basis that its a safer heater I would not have any problems with it. I happen to think its a nice heater, but when you measure BTU output Vs energy use, you will not see any difference between my inexpensive cube heater, and the 400 dollar Eden Pure heater. Shame on them.

  • This man claims to have done research on air purifiers and has found nothing to support the benifits to using them....Hospitals run them daily to sterilize and disinfect.

  • I don't have a problem with a little ozone if its properly regulated, and it may have a value. I just put a side note in my video to mention that, but as far as cleaning the air from pollution, can you find any scientific reviews by an independent organization to verify this?

  • Yeah these machines are conning people. People are so desperate to save money that they will waste money on these scams. My dad bought one. And he never pays for stuff like that. If you saved even $20.00 a month the machine cost upfront, it will take you months to pay it off, and if you buy one on a credit card? Forget it!!

  • The ads for these heaters DO claim that you can save up to 50% on your heating bill. BUT, they're not comparing apples to apples so it IS misleading. They want you to compare what you're paying to heat your ENTIRE home now, to what you could be paying if you turned your thermostat down significantly, and dragging these portable heaters from room to room with you.

Comparing the cost of heating an entire house to a certain level to heating only the room you're in to that level is ridiculous.

  • I have 2 Ecoquest flair air purifiers and i think they are junk in 2005 I was hospitalized for pneumonia which I think was caused by the ozone in the machine also the units are expensive and brake down don't be fooled, but i do like the laundrypure I do notice the difference

  • Thanks for the info. I guess ozone would be okay if you could really control the parts per million for a given square footage, but I imagine there will always be certain areas of ones home where the concentrations of ozone exceed safe values. some people claim these machines helped them recover from allergies, but I often wonder at what cost. I use my ozone machine for getting rid of odors at times, but I don't feel comfortable letting it run continuously when I'm in the room.

  • The ads claim and I quote "...Can save you up to 50% on your heating bill." Not electric bill. Great for Gas and wood furnaces, still acceptable for electric furnaces if used as directed. Notice the word "can" in the statement. It's not stating an absolute, it's stating an ability. Many things factor into that ability such as drafty windows, area of coverage, condition of insulation, age of home and most importantly placement of heater. I suggest more research on your end.

  • I added an annotation to correct my error. Thanks for pointing that out.

  • Okay first of all, Biotech Research (Who sells the Edenpure Heaters) claims that it will save UP TO 50% on your HEATING BILL, NOT your electric bill! You didn't really expect to plug a large electrical appliance into your outlet and expect your electric bill to go DOWN did you?!?! They actually are great heaters AND great ENERGY savers if you normally use gas to heat and use them as directed.

  • Thanks! my parents bought me a edenpure for christmas. Im going to have them return it. I just dont see why you would pay 400$ for a heater that is 5000BTU (same as any 1500 watt space heater). for 400$ you could but ten really nice space heaters.

  • Its nice to hear I saved you a few bucks. If you happen to do a comparison as I did, please consider posting your results here.
