This movie is so awesome. I think Rapunzel originally had the most pathetic fairy-tale of all, but she really got her revenge in this movie. Talk about irony.

Rapunzel only cries when the moment REALLY calls for tears (i.e. people dying, heart being broken like a china dish dropped out of her tower, and when she's about to die)

She doesn't need layers upon layers of petticoats

The animals don't talk, but speak volumes

She defends herself!

Rapunzel might not even think she ever had a dad in the first place, but she is very smart and could have figured out the birds and the bees by.. you know... actually watching the birds and the bees.

And since she never had a dad and never knew how important they were, I don't think not having one would have bothered her until she left the tower.

I love this film. Unlike some of the other princess films (not disney but others), tangled teaches about friends, family, and love. Nothing about this has something to do with beauty. It's such a fantastic movie. I love how everything connects. It beats Hannah Montana (close to a princess movie), Ella Enchanted, and many others.

As much as I love this film but the beginning for me was so boring I mean come on the guy was so sarcastic(this woman mother gothel used this power to keep herself young) it took 10 bloody mins for the film to start. But still I like how it explains why Rapunzel was a blonde as a baby and NOT a brunette all because of the magic golden flower. You can tell though that Eugene sort of liked Rapunzel as he says this story isn't even mine this story is about a girl named Rapunzel.

@Disney65Fan I was thinking of renting this film but, yes, this clip is solid narration. four and a half minutes in, the narration is still going on. In "The Lord of the Rings" this would make sense, but here? I'm thinking, will this guy ever shut up so the film can START? How about a simple, concise, "Once upon a time"? Short, crisp, and to the point. WHEN the film starts, is it worth the trip?

@TheStockwell I don't think you guys get the point they are trying to set up atmosphere for the movie. Sure it's no... "Three were given to the elves." But, it's not as long as that long Lord of The Rings speech. I mean if the narrator wasn't speaking in the beginning you wouldn't even know Gothel's name. And sure you might be able to figure out what is going on... but maybe some of the younger kids might not get it. The point is it sets up the point of the lanterns and the story.

@TheDjlstar You win. Mostly! I saw the film and, I gotta tell ya, on Blu-ray it was amazing. It's sad how this perfectly great film came and went and was written off as "not as good as other Disney classics." What do people want? "Snow White II"? I still think the introduction was long-winded, overly detailed, and explained things ahead of time, things we'd find out eventually. In another 20 years, people will wonder how this one slipped by while they were staring at "Cars II."

I don't Disney was ever taking this movie seriously I mean the way they marketed this was as if it was just another Shrek movie. Did you see the bonus features for this! It was as if they didn't even care! But anyway I think this would have made a great Disney classic I mean it's my favorite Disney movie.

@TheDjlstar Disney made muffled references to this being their 50th feature film, as if even THEY weren't to proud of the result. ("THIS cost a quarter of a billion dollars to make?") I've read this was your generic troubled productions, with one set of directors replacing the original set of directors, cost overrun, and so on. Disney has a habit of finding a hit formula and driving it into the ground. Currently, it's "princess" pictures that started with "Little Mermaid. This was the latest.

well it's surprisingly similar though. gothel is her name in both stories, but repunzel isn't a princess in the story, flynn is a prince. which obviously is reversed in this movie. there's no healing power in her hair in the story but (SPOILER alert) in both the movie and the story her tears heal her love. he doesn't die in the story, he just gets blinded (she heals him)and they have twins together. that's probably more than u wanted to know lol but i got carried away, sorry xD

Duckling- The Snuggly Duckling Bar where Flynn takes Rapunzel.

Cupid- Small drunk man at the Snuggly Duckling Bar during the musical scene.

Chameleon- Pascal, Rapunzel's friend who ultimately leads Mother Gothel to her death.

Horse- Maximus who helps get Rapunzel and Flynn out of some sticky situations.

Anyone notice how Gothel is supposed to be the villian for hoarding the power of the flower/hair for herself? But then when the Queen gets sick, she gets to drink the whole freaking flower instead of sharing it like it is so emphasized. Yes, she was going to die, but so was Gothel without the flower. So is Gothel any better than the queen? At least Gothel didn't kill the one-of-a-kind flower.

@Hissanrach It's all explained. She was literally dying after all and she was pregnant. The whole kingdom searched for a miracle and I suppose already tried all kind of stuff to heal the queen. I think, they didn't know the flower was unique and could have been used multiple times, if you sing to it. And the power hadn't been wasted actually, because it accumulated in the baby's hair. So if Rapunzel wasn't inprisoned, she could heal others. Gothel wanted flower only for herself all the time.
