The problem was that Miami was poorly coached, undisciplined, and not in their best shape. That will never be the case with Randy Shannon!

RANKING THE COACHES THROUGHOUT MIAMI'S GOLDEN ERA:
1. JJ-hands down
2. Howard Schellenberger-got it all started-might have won more titles had he stayed put
3. Butch Davis-recruited the players for the 2000, 2001, & 2002 teams, which only lost 2 games
4. Larry Coker-had a great record with Butch's talent-still, didn't get the program into trouble
5. Dennis Erickson-had a great run mostly because of JJ's players-got the program into a mess at the end
