  • The plastic bag helps the kiddos maintain an adequate body temp. He's most likely on a warming table as well, to help out with temp regulation. Looks like he's doing great! What a fighter. I wish all 28 weekers came out looking like him.

  • y is he in the plastic thing

  • What a fighter! I'm so proud of him.

  • This is cool i was a premature child born march 16 1994 I weighed 3 pounds and now I'm almost 18 and healthy I'm sure your kid is strong and will grow up awesome too

  • Ahhh, i love watching these, this gave me tears actually.... I gave birth at 26+5 via emergency c section, my lil man was 1005grams (2lb 3.5oz) we spent 87days in NICU, came home 6days before his due date!

All your premmie families, you are all amazing!! :)

  • Thanks for putting this video on. I'm trying to get back to NICU nursing after years away (having my own children), but I was at the Rosie Maternity in Cambridge, England, in 1984 when Colin Morley worked there, and I'll never forget everybody there. :)

  • :) beautifull ... i was 9 pound and 3lbs when i was born but i was 1 month premie

  • SUCH A BRAVE LITTLE HANDSOME BOY....BUT MOM AND DAD COOPER WAS SAYING GET THAT THING OFF MY FACE....HE DID NOT WANT NOTHING ON HIS FACE...I saw cooper trying to move the nurse hands...I pray all is well with little Cooper now...Love u lil dude

  • So that's how it works... they come in packaging...

  • i have been a nicu nurse for over 16 yrs and i find it gross they i mean NONE are not wearing gloves not only is against universal percautions what about flipping HIV AND HEP B ECT.who know what this mother has could have herpes anything and they are not wearing gloves. This baby was just born , it still has blood on him, ect,,,,,,,

  • i love watching these videos of these little fighters. I Was so afraid my son would come early and he sure did not !i had him at 39 weeks and he was 8lbs 8.3 oz and i did it all natrual he only 7 weeks today so i still feel invincible lol

  • @Babyfullable : Congratulations, good on you!! Yes, wow... isn't it an incredible feeling those natural endorphins were fantastic ..loved that feeling, felt like superwoman for ages after my Number two with everything almost identical to yours, no drugs etc.38 weeks, 8lb. it did so so very much to counter and repair the experience of my premmie. all the best with bubs! :) nic

  • Aww I was born at 28 weeks, too! Thank you for posting this video.

  • Fiesty little fellow :3

  • for the ones interested in why the plastic? it's for thermalregulation. it helps to keep their body temp up and decreases exposure to drafts.

  • Oh my god this is so amazing, what a little trooper, hope he is all good now....

  • Ohhh pauvre petit bout..

Quand je pense que ma fille a vécue ça à sa naissance pffff... Ca me déchire le coeur..

  • What a cute little baby! But so tiny :( did he make it alight? I'm happy with the medical stuff we have now. I was talking to a woman who used to be a baby nurse. She said they didnt have what we have now, she had to press on the little baby's chest to keep its heart beating... Thank God for all the new medical stuff we have!

  • He is so tiny :(

  • What is the bag for or the plastic covering after?

  • I love how he's just kicking and squirming all over the place... makes you smile :)

  • LOL he's so CUTE! He's like what the hell i was so warm, now this? LOL He's so cute tho

  • He's a cute, scrappy little thing. Love him!!

  • Your little boy is super cute! Did you have a new baby?-Congratulations!

  • i was also born at 28 weeks and 3lbs4oz...im a girl though ...always do things different LOL....but turned out pretty much ok besides conduction problems with my heart and as a kid had probs with comprehension...otherwise normal

  • thank you for sharing this! my twins were born at 23 weeks gestation. anthony was 1lb 8oz and michael was 1lb 5oz. i lost michael after 9 days. anthony is now over 3 months and is 4lbs 6oz. he has been in 3 hospitals and just has laser eye surgery. i hope to have him home soon! <3

  • baby god bless u ...

  • awee god bless that baby <33333

  • uhhhh makes my stomack jump. my twins is today 4 years oæld, but was born at week 27 their weight was 995 grams and 1125 grams.

  • im 14 and i know you will think wth is this kid doing in videos like this well let me say why, i care when I'm a father no matter what my child looks like i will take care so I'm so happy that your son got really good care and hopefully has grown into a proper child.

    God bless :)

  • yes 8Lb :0 was very happy when she eventually emerged - drug free too so i was feeling super human for weeks on the endorphins. Its amazing how little control over the entire pregnancy & birth process we hav. Just cross our fingers and hope that the outcome however they arrive is good for the kid! It was great that the monitoring of kaiden was able to save his life, i'd not heard of that virus, will have to look it up now... and my 5yr old will also be at school next year they grow up too fast!

  • why the bag?

  • WOW, born so early but a really good weight! My son was 1.76kg at 34wks- emergency c-section, born extremely sick and not expected to live. Thankfully he was a fighter and is now 4yrs 4mths, Global Developmental Delay and hearing loss to both ears (cochlea implant fitted in April 2010, second implant next Thursday)- does your son have any issues from his prematurity? Can i ask what caused his early arrival?

  • @AussieMummySince07 - Thanks for your story, The impants I'll guess are making a huge difference to his life (go aussie inventions!). I'm sorry your son's start was so traumatic. My boy thankfully has no ongoing issues. we were very fortunate to keep him after nearly loosing him at 22 weeks due to cervical incompetence. then all looking good after 6 weeks on my back spontaneous labour?!? Why? no one could say. 3.5 years later & another preventative stitch bub#2 went full term no problem!! :)

  • @skaternic007 Oh yeah- his first implant has made a DRAMATIC difference! Here's hoping the second will be just as significant! (im in Australia too BTW)- his speech is quite delayed but getting better and better :)

Thats fantastic your son has no complications from being born so early- these premmies are pretty tough!

At least with your second you knew about the cervix issue, thats fantastic you went to term! I went 40+5 with my daughter and she was a petite but 100% healthy 6lb 15oz :)

  • @AussieMummySince07- give him a couple of years with his new ears and he'll be great!! that's wonderful. but these little girls are tough, not too keen on coming out either... He he. I recall the nurses saying most premmies are boys.. i wonder why. glad my doc thought that 38 weeks was enough for #2 she was already just over 8lb and delivered naturally too which was great for mentall healing after the emergency c for her big brother.

  • @skaternic007 He starts school next year and is going to a school with a hearing impairment so hoping that does him wonders and brings him along a lot :)

Well, with Kaiden i caught a virus called Cytomegalovirus which is pretty bad for unborn babies so he had to be born because he had stopped growing and moving and there was almost no fluid around him :(

WOW- 8lb! Nice healthy girl! I had to have another emerg. c unfortunately as she got stuck and was coming face first :(

  • soon youll be strong...

  • He's probably thinking: Dab namit! Leave me alone already! LOL! My little guy was also in the NICU but he was full term. He was born without a butthole. Yep. I wasn't with him but his daddy was. He didn't like the tubings and even tried to yank it out several times. And he had an IV in his head. Yeah, OUCH. So glad your little guys a fiesty little guy. Shows that he is a strong little one. Thank GOD he did great!

  • @colleb95 - hope your little one is Ok now and that his issue will not give ongoing problems after they repaired him?? ps - my boy now 5... still fiesty!! LOL

  • wow he was so fiesty!

  • Is he alive? So fucking cute. Probably the cutest baby I've seen on here.

  • Gods best gives I hope he is doing well my lil girl came two weeks early she was 18 in and 5 lb.

  • Oh no! They're bubble wrapping him! He is so cute! That must be scary from his perspective.

  • Hows the baby doing now?

  • aww

  • @skibadog666 27+7 in gestation terms = 28 weeks:)

  • hes one of gods amazing gifts

  • Awwwwwww!! He's so little!! :3 he's got all his head gear all set!! How long was he in the NICU for?

  • @iluvhermitcrabs18 , thanks for your comment - he was in for 51 days and was out by the time he was a little over 35weeks gestation equivalent. he did very well.

  • So adorable I hope he was okay after everything. :)

  • ils mettent du papier bulle xD

  • amazing and beautiful

  • I would prefer Gloves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sooo cute!!!! Dat almost makes me cry!!

  • that is the most cuteest, precious, beautiful, and blessed premature baby i've

seen! XD (may God blessed every baby being in every way) *peace* ;p

  • Gloves people!

  • Why is the baby wraped in plastic, so sadd

  • Wow for a 28 nearly 29 week prem he is a really good size an seemed to be doing fantasic. My daughter was born at 32 weeks and as soon as she was born they whisked her away to put her on oxygen and call the angel flight (we were in a small rural hospital that was not prepared for this) she was flown to our capital city 8 hours away from home and spent 2 months in NICU on oxygen, feeding tube, saline drip, and having phototherapy for extreme jaundice.

  • @fpv86 thanks for your comment - yes we were very lucky he was so healthy, your premie journey is quite arduous by comparison, i hope you all have recovered and there are no lasting issues:) ( i had anoccasion to be near some hand sanitizer that smelt the same as that used in the NIcu and 5 year old memories came rushing back like it was yesterday - i had thought i was completely over it, but a few tissues were needed... the power of smell... amazing)

  • omg! I just wanna give him a hug! I'm in my 27th week and can't believe they can be born so early! His lil sounds are so sweet! :)

  • Thank you for this. My baby girl is in the NICU right now.

  • its not a sterile procedure.

  • I have always wanted to work in the NICU. Seeing this video gives me an insight on one of the daily things i will witness while in this field :(

  • why are they not wearing any gloves???!!! just washing your hands alone is not enough people.

  • Looks like a 34 week premie..going on nasal cpap or high flow O2.

  • my daughter naima was born 3 years ago at 1 pound 12oz and she is such a dynamo and never had any issues thank God!

  • que lindo bebe...

  • Hey, this video of your son has been stolen, and has been uploaded on a nother page, they are claiming it is the baby named 'megatron' if your familiar with that facebook page. The video is titled: 1 million 'likes' & my wife will agree to call our baby Megatron. youtube.com/watch?v=Gd4nJS0RmIM

  • @dawngalloper12 it's been removed now, nevermind.

  • Hope the original uploader of the video was the parents or had the parents permission. Great vid but hope no confidentiality ethics were broken.

  • @91bez Read the info, sure that'll answer your question..

  • my dad was 18 ozs now he's almost 300 pounds lol

  • Awww he's beautiful, but why are they wrapping him in plastic? Why not a soft blanket?

  • what a lil cutie! <3 awww

  • I was a preemie, 2 months early

  • Oh wow what a feisty little fella he was!!!! So glad he's living a normal healthy life now, I bet you guys are very proud! Bless him ~Peace~

  • Btw I thumbs up for him doin well.

  • 4 pounds ain't much but I was born 2 lbs 1 ounce and 3 month pre and now I'm 6'2 190 lbs haha big things come in small packages.

  • Well I think he is cute!! Glad to know he is well..

  • i was born 4 pounds doctor said i was gonna be handicapped but i was fine

  • I was premature too. I weight in less than 1 kg (970 grams or something). I was supposed to be born in november but was born in september. When i was in my mother's womb the doctor said I'm gonna die in womb or will be severely handicapped or retarded. I looked dead in the pictures (dead or too handicapped to move). However when I was born I was complitely normal. I have never had any complications or illnesses eversince. I'm perfectly healthy. Some things just are miraculous :)

  • @hypoksifilia Had to spend my first month at the hospital, though.

  • what a super star only needing CPAP and not ventilation! that's awesome!! \how is he now? seems like a little trooper - why was he delivered so early? x

  • @The747120 they are helping the baby to breathe and reicieve liquids. the plastib helps to keep in heat so the baby doesnt get to cold

  • when the doctors were putting the tubes on, he was swinging hes a fighter ! i hope hes okay. god bless you!

  • my neice was 900 grams wen she was born with her twin sister hu was 1 kilo grams...they where very tiny size of a remote control :)

  • This looks very familiar, minus the plastic bag all around the baby :)

  • im only 12 what are the ydoin to the baby

  • Thank you so much for sharing this. My first daughter was born at 26 weeks gestation, just over a pound, and unfortunately didn't make it. My second daughter was born 2 years later at 31 weeks gestation, 2 lbs, 19 oz. We spent hours in the NICU with her. She was there for a grand total of 44 days, and every second of it was a struggle. But they're fighters! My little girl will be 2 soon, and she continues to amaze everyone she comes in contact with. Blessings to you and your family!

  • its a boy ...

  • i know a little baby who was born 3 months early... and his mommy didnt want him,,, she wanted him in a loving family and he is now adopted in a good home! your baby is soo cute! and special! soo cuute!

  • I was actually born a couple of weeks earlier, because of me getting too big. Sadly, I had to removed the non natural way >.<; I was a big baby

  • Poor premie, I'm pretty sure the nurses washed their hands but still..........please wear gloves. It should be standard precautions.

  • To help it retain it's body heat. Premature babies often aren't able to regulate their own body temperature.

  • y was the baby in a bag??

  • My nearly 22-year-old daughter was born weighing 2lbs 10.5oz; was in a incubator for nearly 3 months and on a ventilator (on & off) for 7 weeks. This reminded me soo much when my Cait was born I was in tears! I hope your son is doing well.....preemies that are fighters (and from the looks of it he was and probably still is) do so well...she's off to Queens University Belfast in 15 days for a specialized summer class! Cheers and God bless you and your son!

  • @ECCRN1996 - thankyou for your comment - as always i love hearing about ' older' premmies. you must be so very proud of your daughter (just be prepared....Belfast it may not just be for summer! both my sisters went to Europe at a similar age, -one went for a summer short course in Venice and came home 5 years later, married with a child! and the other after 3 years of travelling... :) My son is well in all respects and was and still is a fighter & determined in anything he does.Nic

  • @skaternic007 Oh I'm well aware of that! My Irish relatives (most of the the family is still in Ireland) are threatening to "kidnap" her for a weekend to take her to Sligo and to the family pub! I told her she HAD to come home as she wouldn't have enough clothes! Hahahaha!! So glad to hear about your son....my Cait was also 28 wk/2 days gestation! Scariest thing ever!!! God bless you all!

  • @skaternic007 Is your son ok now? I hope he is.

  • @skaternic007

is he alright he is to cute i hope he can grow.

  • @ECCRN1996 My friend's baby boy was born weighing only 1lb and 9 oz . He was born about 2 months ago and they're still struggling with the baby but everyone loves him. The baby is 3 months premature but still doing fine and we're still praying for him. Glad to hear that your daughter turned out well and healthy and I know how much pain it must have been.

  • aw i wonder how he is now?

  • @sweetnessrenaify - very well thankyou - normal 4.5yr old in every way! :)

  • @skaternic007 That is a very interesting story. I want to become a Doctor. These kinds of stories inspire me to keep on studying Organic Chemistry when all hope seems lost....

  • Gloves please?

  • holy crap, our resus protocol is different, but we don't remove the plastic bag until the baby is transfered to an incubator and has 2 consecutive temperature readings that are normal... Removing the bag now causes hypothermia and potentially an IVH due to cold stress. Hope your little one is fine now! :)

  • @darthtunaqueen ; he was very fine Then i suspect that was the reason for the treatment like an older gestation bub. apgar ( 8, 10,10) scores were better than my second bub who was natural & at full term., and Fine now. Thanks for your comment... it is interesting to get all the points of view this provokes. NIc

  • i was a pemmie at 4 pounds 20 ounces hooked up to machines for weeks at a time everytime i moved my mom said they got scared cause thats when i would fall unconcious (i hope i spelled that right now i am 22 yrs old and about to have my second baby in nov 2 2011 first child was a healthy baby boy and i am m,uch much healthy bbw thank you jesus

  • My little brother was born premature and this all happened to him. I wasn't actually there but I saw a video of it and I could tell that if he could talk, he would be screaming, "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING TO ME?!?!?!?" it's sad but it saves babies' lives

  • Don't doctors know plastics pose a threat to infants...

  • @jetsfan2351 - he he he

  • @skaternic007 O.0

  • @jetsfan2351 the plastic keep the babies warm..

  • My daughter was born at 31 weeks, weighing in at 3 lbs 6 1/2 oz. She is now 25 and just had her first daughter. Thank you for sharing your video.

  • @lichandler - my pleasure! thanks for your comment

  • The baby is in a bag but they aren't wearing gloves??

  • My baby sister who was born on 23rd of april 2008 was bron at 28 weeks and i can seriousley say it was the most scaryist thing i have ever gone through. She weight just 2 pounds :'( Her skin was seethrugh and she was in a ingabater for 3 months. She had a hole in the heart when she was only 6 months old and had to have it repaired it was so scary (': She is three now but is still under weight but is getting alot better :) This video is amazing to me cause it remined me soo much of herrr :) xxxxx

  • @rosierogers1995 good to hear your baby sis is doing better - thanks for your comment.

  • They're obviously working very intently to assist this baby, but um....no gloves???

  • i know this is VERY inappropriate but... if i was that baby at the end i would have been popping the bubble wrap like there is not tomorrow. sorry. i love that baby though he is so sweet and small

  • @FOREVERXALIKE :) i don't find it inappropriate & I'm his mum!. by the way a few days ago ( now 4 and a half) he was popping bubble wrap with his cousins like there was no tomorrow & loving it! - must have been the early training. :)

  • @skaternic007 aaw lol :) my dad was a premature baby and he is in his 60's lol. you must be a proud mother of your child:) in the futer he may become the world record setter for most bubble wrap popped in 1 min ;) god bless

  • Is that bubblewrap the baby is on?

  • awww such a cute boy hes gonna get all the girls

  • A beautiful baby boy

  • Awwww... him sooooo cute!!!

  • I was born 5 months early an that baby is a boy and cute

  • I was born 3 months early and weighed 2 ibs. 14 ozs. I'm an A B student and can do everything doctors said I couldn't and I weigh 160 ibs and I'm 15. Born in 1996 and stayed in vandy hospital for 43 days. Now I'm a beast at sports and nothin is wrong with me.

  • @WillyPete10 same with alot of my friends.

  • @WillyPete10 - that's great news!, premmies have so much better outcomes once they get to the 27 - 28 week mark. great to hear you have had no problems. Nic

  • @WillyPete10 youtube just WAITED for that information....

  • @WillyPete10 I WILL BE SUING YOU FOR THIS.......

  • @sheray2929 Why? Don't you see they are trying to help their son? he needs to stay warm bc he is too small for clothes.. And he needs help with his breathing too.. as for the glove situation.. Sometimes it is better to keep skin to skin contact.. And it is not like they don't wash their hands.. Nicu nurses are careful with every single miracle that has to be placed in there.. I think this child is a perfect miracle..

  • @WillyPete10 doctorss diiiddd goood :D

    gooodd! preemmiiee fighter woot :)

  • I was born premature at 3 months and im fine. im skinny but i look the same as every other kid. The doctors said i would be stupid and couldnt walk and talk and learn. well i am an A and B student and can do all that stuff that they said i couldnt do........ stupid doctors in 1996:)

  • @Avurie - yes doctors are not always the most sensitive creatures - great to hear that you have proved them wron in every way. i hope my boy is also an A - B student when he is your age!

  • what r they ding to? i was born before my due date and they had to put me in a inkybater now im 13

  • i was born 2 months early with sever bronchitis and i'm fine now with a little girl and another baby on the way, PREMIES RULE!

  • @jdenicut3 go premmies!!!! good luck with No 2.

  • My beloved friend Noe, was born two months early in 1962, poor thing!! he's very sensitive. That's what they say it happens to premature babies when the grow up. Now he's almost 49 and is a handsome tall mexican mangazo.

  • I'm not sure how much I weighed

  • I weighed 2 pounds and 14 1/2 ounces at birth.

  • he looks a good un for 28 weeks a real fighter

  • God bless you Cooper :-))

  • who would abort that???

  • aw poor ting im premature and really unhealthy i can only imagen the things this boor bay will have to go through i almost died at one week only and have had a few encounters with death to were i had only hours left before being pronounced dead....

  • DOES ANYONE IN THIS NICU WEAR GLOVES??

  • omg! hit to young :)

  • Awww he's sooo litto and cute! >:)

  • @anaira3 ohhh :)

  • this is so scaryy why did they hve it in a bag?

  • @chiddddyyyyify The bag is to keep the baby warm if i'm not mistaken :)

  • OMG i know that feeling... my miracle baby girl was born at 26 weeks, her weight was 1 pound 14 oz... now is a super healthy 4 yo.

God bless those talented doctors and nurses at the NICU. (thanks Children´s Hospital & Research Center-Oakland, CA)

  • wait, is the baby still alive?

    i know its a stupid question T_T

  • I was also a preemie, born at 26 weeks gestation and weighing in at 2 lbs. 2 ounces. I actually wasn't supposed to make it because my mom was close to death, so I had to be taken out; however, the hospital she was currently at didn't have a NICU that was equipped for a baby like me. So, they then life flighted my mom to St. Luke's and managed to keep both of us alive. 9 weeks, 2 blood transfusions, and 5 failed attempts to take me off a ventilator, I went home on Christmas Eve in a stocking.

  • i was born in 2002!!!

  • I was born 2 months early, at only 3 pounds, and lost my triplet before we were born (so I was born with twin instead who was only 5 lbs.).I had to stay in the hospital for a month. But I'm perfectly healthy now and in high school. I want to be a neonatal nurse, neonatologist, or pediatrician. :)

  • It looks scary, not thatcute baby, but what are they doing to him?

  • When I was born, I was so premature, I still had a sperm tail.

  • This video reminds me of my little guy. He was 1 pound 8 oz, at 27 weeks. Now he's a 70 pound 8 year old! These NICUs are amazing! God bless these babies... as well as all the staff that work so hard to save their lives!. Bye the way, I think the bag is to protect the baby's skin because it is so thin...

  • oh my godness... this just makes me so sad to see but i alwasy think its the best for the babys. :-) they certenly are miracles.

  • I think the bag is to keep the baby warm? Im not sure..cute babyy (:

  • why was the baby in a bag????

  • i was 3 months early weighting 3 lbs 7 oz. not sure how many weeks i was born at? but what is the bag for?

  • i am criying all now everytime i see it i start criying

  • AWWW! the baby is so small :'(

  • Unbelievable cross contamination. No gloves..unreal. I cant believe I am seeing this!! ( contamination!!) This unit needs to be sited big time.

  • WAW dis is soooo magnifficent!!

  • My mother was a premature baby. I believe it was before 30 weeks, too. Hope all is well :)

  • He's so tiny! How is he now?

  • wow i remember after having my daughter she had to go in the NICU and i saw so many premature babies it was sad, some of them were so so so tiny after spending time wid my little girl i'd walk around and look at all the other babies in the unit and just pray for all of them knowing that they r in there for different reasons my daughter was slightly jaundice but i was able to take the home the same day i got discharge i hope this baby is doing well

  • aww thanks for letting me know...this baby is amazing though wish i could stay by and hold it tight.it seemed so frightened!! hope its fit and healthy now!!

  • GLOVES?!?!?

  • the bag is too hold in the heat ...

  • why is the baby in plastic? plz anyone know???
