I live in Seattle, and that was exactly what happened in our neighborhood last winter where locates at top of hill about 0.4 km long and 50 m elevation. At first, an old man started doing it by himself, then my fiance joined him. Couple hours later, more people digged in. It took 11 people and 9 hours to completely clean up the road. By the end of the day, everybody was happy- nobody was angry about who did it or who didn't do it nor feeling big about doing it. It was quite an experience!
i disagree. partially. i pay my council tax and my council didn't grit a single road anywhere near where i live or go to road. so for all i care - everyone can get snowed in. i have had to walk for 4 hours to and from road because council decided to help other counties as they were low on grit and salt. ridiculous. where are their priorities! and then there are councils in UK that spend thousands on sex education for over 50s! wtf!
then some people (5) stood there to help every car. and before that, no one was there to help. so a guy got mad and pushed a LOT of now onto the snow as a tantrum :)
Wow! YH! OCH!, Good on you, the thing about sharing the same resources, no one is sharing, if your going to get something, you pay for it, your doing what some other guy gets payed for, it's called TAX, you pay TAX when you go to work man
nice one Kwaichi, you're right, people these days are incredibly self-centred all they want to do is complain. They are reluctant to band together and be a part of the solution rather than a part of the problem - apathy. It is fair to assume that local authorities would take charge of clearing the roads and gritting etc but where they don't, be it due to lack of manpower or resources or even neglect, is it really so much to ask of your fellow man that he lend a helping hand?
cool man keep it up!!! It was like that in Oklahoma really bad. We were helping people who got stuck the whole day and I just made it back and the know has all melted now, but its suppose to storm up again really soon.
i wish you the best of luck! I just got stuck at the bottom of a hill and I was shovelling for about 25 minutes until i saw someone else get stranded near me. I helped them to get out of the hill and I had to beg them to return the favour. They then went into a bar and got out 10 guys to push my car out! I wish they had done that first instead of just watching me from the bar and laughing at my expense!
wow. they're cunts. I wouldn't have accepted their help, but maybe that's just an American thing right there ;)... But seriously I would've just told them to fuck off.. Anyway glad to know you got your car out.. it luckily didn't storm here in oklahoma. but there is still a lot of ice on the road, and now our roads went from shitty to undriveable.... maybe if they start construction on them now they can finish by 2030
Great work dude! All councils seem to be non-existent when there's any snow! Simply not enough planning and preparation! Again, brilliant effort! I spent about 4 hours yesterday clearing the front of my house cos my Dad couldn't be bothered!

kwaichi 2 years ago
yh,i rweally love comments on my videos as well :P
And what i meant was,
Some people (5 of them) stood at my hill to help every car that couldnt get past
But long after that, when everyone was sleeping, Some guy came and got stucj.
But no one was there to help.
So he threw a tantrum and put lots and lots of snow onto the road :)

Exactly! We're all in the same world sharing the same resources. It's so much easier to blame someone else than to do something yourself!

San Francisco, no snow here. But we may be building up for decent earthquake, digging in out will require a lotta shovels.
Clivesvlogs 2 years ago
how often do you get earthquakes there?
kwaichi 2 years ago
@kwaichi small ones weekly, a '4.0' this week shook the window blinds. There's 3 major faults pent up ready to trigger a big one (unknown eta).
Clivesvlogs 2 years ago
wow that's insane. a 4.0 sounds scary enough!

wow! how big is the front of your house?
kwaichi 2 years ago
Not that big lol, it was just the case that it was 12" deep or more, time consuming and back-breaking, as im sure you know! lol

I have a technique of scooping with the shovel and then kicking the back of the shovel with my foot to save so much bending.
kwaichi 2 years ago
But...where is your shovel? I know..you're the team leader! The same like me! In Poland we have the same kind of weather.
