  • Great version of "Woody n You" at this show as well. Post it if you have it, please.

  • I've have this CD for years and listen to it often. It's so cool to see him jamming. Putting the visual to the sound is priceless for me. Thanks!

  • Why does YouTube only show My Views?

  • Thats Tommy Flanagan. Very elegant pianist player.

  • I was impressed with everyone, but the bass in particular, he's good enough too play a solo all while outlining the progression enough that you could tell where he was even if you leave the room and come back in,

  • the final chord on the piano is so awesome!

  • you really have to hate something to want to gather the energy to press the dislike button... why people? why do you hate this?

  • @be4tbybl4ck Generally, on the videos I have disliked (not this video) if I click dislike, I clicked it by accident. It is inconveniently close to the like button.

  • @ZomBLord true dat

  • YES!!

  • wondrous stuff! is this Kenny Dorham himself? If not who is it?

  • @AdvancedGuitar

Kenny Dorham was a trumpet player ^^

  • nerealus pianistas!!! liuks!!!

  • HOLY CRAP, that's fantastic, just wonderful beyond words

  • 4 People Is Tone Death.

  • I don't understand how anyone can dislike this. This is nothing short of amazing piano playing. The speed and accuracy is sick.

  • Rediculouly fast and nimble. Tommy is effortless in his greatness!!

  • Tommy is masterful on this live piece. Fast fingers effortlessly. Rediculous!!!

  • For those who don't recognize him that's the great Tommy Flannigan on piano. Thanks for the post!

  • Oh my gosh these guys rip SO hard! Who are they? and how do 4 people dislike this?

  • @michaelp5590 I suspect it is because it is too fast - someone recently told me they hated this played at this tempo! I love it though :)

  • Wonderful pianist! Great players always communicate with each others so well during the performances.

  • excellent!

  • otro nivel el pianista...me late este estilo....chulada de muscia

  • Muito bom, realmente.

    Sem perda de tempo.Direto, melodiosos.

    Simples e bonito.

  • Sure! Tommy Flanagan, the eternal companion and friend of Ella Fitzgerald. I had the enormous honor of seeing both in Mexico. Incredible swing and creative power at the piano! Thx!

  • pianist fantastico and double bass player also

  • The man behind the keys is Tommy Flanagan. One of the most virtuos jazz piano players.

  • @SpaceRider1980 thx for that info :)

  • q maestros!

  • This is HOT!

  • 3:23!! Great change on piano!

  • Dang, this guy is AMAZING

  • Check out "Jazz Poet" - Flanagan' s trio

  • Wow, that pianist is fantastic

  • @iKohan I so wish I could hear what he was discussing while he was playing though =) 2:20

  • this is awesome! does anyone know who the drummer is?

and does anyone know any good recordings by the pianist Tommy Flanigan?

  • He's on a TON of stuff as a sideman, I don't know about much as a leader, but I'd highly reccomend Roy Hayne's "Out of the Afternoon" GREAT tunes and arrangments, and Amazing playing by Flanagan, Haynes, Roland Kirk on reeds, and Henry Grimes on bass (and to boot, I think it's one of the best recorded jazz records ever, even by RVG's already high standard)

  • beautifull beautifull

  • Nice! 5/5*

  • Wow.... I love it!

  • I never used to give credit to Tommy Flanigan for being a great pianist. Sure, he played with Ella and Coltrane, but he just never seemed to jump out at me. Here, he is at his best. WOW!

  • The user "JazzVideoGuy" here on youtube has some videos of Flanigan together with Billy Taylor, really worth a look!

  • @Jaysmithtrio One doesn't play with Ella and Coltrane and NOT be great. However, if you mean "dominant" or "outstanding", than I agree with you. He was no Oscar (trio buster) but a brilliant trio pianist in his own rite!

  • that is one amazing double bass player

  • Really sweet...

what a really jazz..., this is a first song has been inspiring me to be a jazz pianist

  • I love the drummer!!

    is really good!

  • wow!!!! these guys sound amazing!!!

does anyone know who the pianist is???

  • tommy flanigan i believeee

  • Haha, GOD is in the url.

  • @LincolnPhoenix

Or as the Romans used to say: "Deus ex URL"

  • @LincolnPhoenix yes!!! this pianist polays as a GOD, it needs to be shown in the url!! haha

  • The best Blue Bossa interpretation I ever heared. Realy, Great :)

  • It's just great !

I like way the drummer is playing.

  • He is greatpianoman!!

  • Till this day there hasn't been a drummer who made 'true' emotion through the drums, except for anger, thanks to metal bands... But still happy emotion, there's that, but you can't really feel it, and I don't think it's impossible for drums to make that... I believe it's possible, to make sadness, and etc... But if there is a drummer like that, in my dreams, then, TELL ME!

  • you should look at yanni's drummer Charlie Adams, he can create emotion if you will. i like this blue bossa at the faster tempo and nice use of the brushes.

  • I can't listen to this, it's hard... My grandfather is dying as I write, and I'm just here... Angry against myself for selfish thoughts... His body stopped producing white and red blood cells, he became paralyzed, his digestive system stopped, he's stopping... And when I saw him, he saw all the people around him, and you see him trying to talk, to communicate, but he can't... Which is sad, because he can't say his last words, I hope he gathers all his energy to talk to his wife a last time...

  • Thats Cool !

  • Bass player is so intense.

  • Excellent!

  • Thanks for Posting....
