  • the fuckin' 60's man...

  • i keep thinking that blonde girl is 60+ yrs old now, but probably still dances like this

  • @yenbadcito unfortunately, Deborah Walley (the blonde) passed away in May, 2001 of cancer. She was quite a cutie in the 60s.

  • I hear the whole time 'your pussy too hot'. Very fanny isn't?

  • the nuggets album.....one of the most influential albums of all time ..............its a gas!

  • the song im listening to when flying in america air

  • Harry Mudd from Star Trek is smokin' a pipe on the couch!

  • Thumb up if you know this song from Funniest American Videos!

  • Too funny! But, man, I love this song!

  • gassy- an ill conceived slang word that never quite caught on.

  • 1:08 haunts me

  • @sirtophamhatt Sort of the words I was looking for. Times sure have changed!

  • Close your eyes and listen. Really honest, raw and rough rock music from the mid 60s. Open your eyes and ears to discover the amount of relatively unknown bands that existed during that period. Listen for example to The Misunderstood, The Puhdys and of course THE ZETTLERS and their versions of "Skinnie Minnie" and "Beautiful Delilah". What a bloody feeling and "drive".

  • @TheSunbau Sounds like you've been listenin' to the "Nuggets" album lately, cool! So have I.

  • las drogas hicieron bastante daño a mucha gente

  • arthur lee AND LOVE ARE WAY BETTER THAN THIS FUCKIN SHITE ,,,, PUSHIN A FUCKIN JOBBY OOT HIS ERSE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • YEAH, these niggas be spittin straight GAS

  • Harry Mudd? Music drove him to seek solace in space and become Captain Kirks nemesis.

  • +1'd this :) QC

  • I never cared much for the Seeds. Sky Saxon's frantic dancing would have been cool coming from an 18 year old lead singer, but was almost 30 at the time.

  • the good old days when LSD was still legal

  • Sickest front man ever.

  • that old guy was acting like he had hemorrhoids

  • This is every 60's teenager's fantasy, slipping acid to their mom and dad and all their friends at a cocktail party. It will be far out to see those squares freak out.

  • Very cool; I like the parental units feining disgust throughout the video...

  • is he lip syncing? it sounds almost like the record. what was the story line, why would the Seeds be in this sitcom? I wish I could see the whole episode.

  • @Deneb33 Hey, if you want to see a very high-quality excerpt of this episode that provides a little more insight, search YouTube for "MILExtended." Don't ask me why the video is titled MILExtended, but it is. The Seeds made a cameo appearance on the TV sitcom The Mothers-in-Law, and their band name on the show is The Warts. The Warts! I always find it amusing. Anyway, check it out. Hope that helps.

  • @ShapelyDice good info thanks

  • @Deneb33 No problem. And there's another little clip with the Warts (Seeds) in it that I assume is the end of the episode. The video is titled "When the Seeds met Joe Besser." The quality isn't too great, though.

  • @ShapelyDice cool thanks :D

  • great song funny video

  • hey sky what are you doin in the squares living room/

  • this is like a pre-YouTube YouTube moment

  • My Seeds got more gassy than your gassy bad ass band---RIP to Sky!!

  • Fuck man, his moves are too sick. I love this band. Not enough stuff like this around these days. Damn shame.

  • what the hell kind of dancing... is that

  • @WillDrache that's how people use to dance in the 60's because they were tripping their brains out!

  • @tbrownbear1 this guy isnt even lip syncing right lol

  • Gassy. Now I know why Carl Reiner didn't want any slang on The Dick Van Dyke Show.

  • if i make 100 i wont find kay ballard attractive !

rip deborah walley you were beautiful .

  • Dig that headband, man!!!!

  • 1:09

  • "We think it's gasey!" - ??? That confirms my original thought. This song is definitely about constipation.

  • 34 people do not agree that the Seeds are "gassy"

  • @weightlifterf2 24 People like your mother

  • gassy!!

  • They made the band look so "gay" in this video. The seeds are bad ass. I would sue the sitcom if I did this.

  • Oh Herb, stop with the its too loud, they ain't got no amps, how loud could it be?

  • this lot want pushing ...right ofa cliff.....what i shit 60's? din....

  • What a wondrous song! What astounding American TV rubbish!

  • @Blangahman You expect them all to be gems? You have no "rubbish" TV?

  • Love when he drops the tamborine at 0:47

  • @GabloFX2 Doesn't that blow-up sheep have reinforced seams?

    hahahaha

  • Oh crap, anyone else reach that age where Eve Arden looks foxy here?

  • Love this video :) Rip sky.

  • Great song-really hated the show.

  • I've seen this before-loved it then too! Check out the Mick Jagger clone!

  • I think I'm going to name my son Saxxon, he'll be born on october 5th, according to the DOC

  • @angelsflight

    The Department of Corrections?

  • Ah! ya, when to concert in Phx. Az. was as close to the stage, got a sound HIGH!

12 string lead, not to starndard.

  • Very groovy!!! Greetings from San Francisco

  • this clip is amazing. What I would give to live one week in the mid 60's...

  • @valeriedesjardins .... better go for a month.... one week would not be enough.

  • OMG, they'll wake the neighbors! lol

  • the pianist is my piano and guitar teacher right now! :D

  • @emak05 Daryl Hooper? Let him know that he is a genius on keyboards. His musical style and approach has always been brilliant, always been my favorite.

  • @ShapelyDice yeah Daryl Hooper is giving me piano lessons right now. He was my guitar teacher for about 4 to 5 year.

  • we have finally released sky's last recording; google magic hero vs. rock people 0 bandcamp

  • Δωσε και σωσε :Sss μας πιεζουνε απο παντου

  • It's kinda funny that I grew up in the 60's and was exposed to all sorts of music but only heard this song a handful of times.

Does anyone know where they were from and what happened to them?

  • @ekocentric I grew up in the bay area of northern california and this song received major airplay back then along with most of the other bands out of Los Angeles california.

  • @MrSmokeydog There were a lot of groups from the bay area and they had their own sound.

I grew up in L.A. near LAX. The bay area must have been a lot of fun in the 1960's. Are you old enough to remember any of the Timothy Leary "Turn on, Tune in, Drop out" action? They must have scared the hell out of the people over the age of 40. LOL

  • @ekocentric I lived on the other side of the bay in castro valley and my older sister saw the Doors and Hendrix

and the Who and the Stones. In fact on my side of the bay the Yardbirds made their bay area debut at a roller rink that I skated at as a kid. I did'nt get into the whole acid scene until later and became a Deadhead for a while.

  • @MrSmokeydog Sometimes when I see a clean shaven older guy I wonder if he had been a deadhead or a "square from nowhere?" Lol

It's amazing how much we change and become our parents once we start haviing families and mortgages.

Cyndi Lauper knew what the words "money changes everything" really meant.

  • @ekocentric Try this. Search internet for wiki

go to the english version of the wikipedia

once there do a search within the en wikipedia for the seeds

It'll give you a bit of info on them.

When you're looking for something, and arent sure how who where what when, the wikipedia is often a good place to start!

  • @ekocentric The best way to get into the Seeds is to listen to ALL their stuff. They wrote some of the best cuts of the 1960s, in my opinion. Their sound is unparalleled.

  • @ShapelyDice Good idea. I'm getting ready to do that....but I still don't know why this group escaped my lists of 60's who's who. Maybe I have heard their music and didn't realize.

  • If I saw that cape at a garage sale I would totally buy it.

  • man thats real "gasy" ! you dig :D

  • Sky Saxton Blues Band------R.I.P Sky

  • Far out man!!!

  • Better be careful....If your "pushin too hard" your gonna get a lot more than just "gassy" Now u know where the lead singer got his nick-name,"skidmark!"

  • gassy

  • these guys actually invented ska?

  • The lead singer looks like Bill Wyman of the Stones after shock therapy.

  • So is this song dedicated to the stage 5 clingers of the 60's?

  • 33 people prefere HD

  • WOW THAT BLONDE CAN REALLY SHAKE HER ASS. I WENT OUT WITH HER ONE TIME BUT WE QUICKLY BROKE UP BECAUSE SHE SAID I WAS "PUSHIN TOO HARD" SURE GONNA MISS HER.

  • sweet! :)

  • The Warts!!!

  • I am pretty lucky to have been able to see Sky Saxon perform Push'n Too Hard at the House of Blues in Hollywood. He guest appeared with The Damned on Halloween night. I saw him living in his van, just outside the HOB. I didn't have a clue. He had large white framed sunglasses on. Old and wrinkled. Just sitting in his van. The date was 10/31/09. Saw him walk into the HOB, sunglasses on, looking around like "you people don't have a clue". I didn't know until he took the stage midway through. Cool!

  • @carneasadaplate If you get fame of this song and then it is downhill from there, I can see the living in a van. I just hope it was a nice van.

  • I agree with the guy at the beginning - this is gassy. And I mean that in the best possible way.

  • GASSY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this guy makes johnny rotten look square

  • I'd fuck the chick dancing.

  • aren't you a sport.

  • @ugmold Why yes. Thank you.

  • People you just don't get what it was like! GoGoGo!

  • Love it! sound even african!

  • They remind me of a second rate Monkees. Why would anyone in 2011 want to listen to this? This is strictly for the over 40's!!!

  • This is so uncool!! I guess music has come a long way sing this old skool stuff. Nuthing beats Jay Z, 50 Cent, Timbaland, Snoop Dog, Kanye West and Eminem!!!

  • @MrGeorgios2020

god-damn it you better be trolling

  • kooolll mannn......groovy, bitchin......

  • Is that Mr Drysdale on the couch?

  • i love lsd

  • mick jagger's dancing buddy

  • Subversive at it's finest!!!! The birth pangs of PUNK as witnessed on this clip.

Sky Saxon throwing that tamborine down with an attitude.......PRICELESS!!!!

  • i like the dancing girl !!

  • "GASSY" ~BAAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

  • The White Prince : )

  • God what show is this..? I used to watch it when I was a kid but can't remember the name...??

  • @stingray1964 this was from a movie

  • @MrBrianlowdown Actually, it was from the series "The Mothers In Law".

  • These guys are like part American Indian.

  • gassy?!

  • @DavidCKendall BAAHAHAHAHAH!!!

  • Bring back the Prince Valiant haircut!

  • I love how the old dude closest to the drummer shrinks away at 0:39 like "Ah! Ah! He's getting hippie on me!!!"

  • Gassy? Who said that? Ever? Too funny.

  • @etks1957 BAAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!

  • The Mothers In Law! Wow! That one had slipped way back in the memory banks. ugh. I did love this song though.

  • Funny - when I think of Sky Saxon and the Seeds I always have this image of them having hair down to their waists - but their hair was nowhere near that long. This is a great clip; Thanks!

  • WHAT in the world????

  • Man they're bad ass. Did you see him whip that tambourine?

  • I wasnt even close to being "thought of" when this song came out...and I love it!!!!!!

  • 0:34 LOL the guy with his pipe

  • @weightfeather1 Like the time a bunch of us were in a cheap hotel in Miami in 1969, listening to The Dead and gearing up to see them at the music festival the next day. Everyone was just about passed out when suddenly we hear this "bang bang" on the door and it was the manager, not only threatening to kick us out on our teenaged butts but to kill us all, just for good measure! That sure as hell sobered us all up pretty quickly! Memories!

  • Vast consumption of beans, seeds, and other, highly complex-carbohydrates will result in gas.

  • 1:56 , was it really worth setting up the insturments? plus the lipstinking was way off

  • The Seeds really remind me of the Ramones of the 60's...

  • @Beatleluver1234567 ramones stole their look from the blues magoos

  • @paintedship oh no wonder lol :)

  • More guys should wear capes nowadays,

doesn't it just turn you on? lol

    it does me ;)

  • Prince Valiant haircuts, smoking a pipe, capes.....reminds me of the Munsters or the Addams Family.

  • This is from episode # 30 "How Not to Manage a Rock Group" which aired April 28, 1968.

  • It seems like Mick Jagger stole this guys outfit. 2 years Mick is wearing this, and looks way cooler in it. All hail the Stones

  • Lol wtf is happening? TV aint like this anymo.

  • Memories memories memories of a sunny sumer holiays back in the mid 60's, thanks for the post now if only I could remember her name

  • hahaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!! and the blond is so groooovy

  • Luv ya Sky! RIP in the sky!

  • film industry term...GASSY... means film is cloudy out of focus..

  • Never thought i'd see this again! I remember when The Seeds rented out that garage on prime time TV. A real blast from the past!!!

  • "Gassy" was late fifties slang, his music was definately "TWITCHIN" !

  • Lip sync, like Kanye!

  • how hard was he tripping?

  • thats gasin like dreams man expression in the purest form ride the fire an get high with me

  • Top stuff gassy or not! ;-j

  • Sky

  • its just too absurd.

  • when music was music

  • Top Twenty All-Time Classic Sounds

  • Wow for the era there was a plethora of other bands to choose.

    That was beyond ordinary.

  • Very good song. I will play it at my next party.

  • that was totaly gassy dude

  • Awesome!

  • that blond looks like ellie-mae clampett

  • This has to be the completely simplest hit song ever. 2 chords is all the whole song is, plus a little bit of amateur doodling around by the keyboard player & guitarist. Kind of a lame song actually

  • this is the most absurd thing i have ever seen. and i like that.

  • sky saxon could not lip sync at all

  • It's funny, but I think the real "squares" are much more handsome, especially the one with the pipe.

  • there takin that salami too hard

  • 0:33 - 0:47 the best part.

  • SKY SAXON is MENTAL!!!!

  • The honest dancing. The obviously not-live soundtrack. The unrefined camera work. The haircut. The man who doesn't enjoy the music impersonating a man who doesn't enjoy the music, And so on...

  • gassy, man!

  • this trips me out haha especially the dancing magician

  • tambourine guy is a spaz
