  • but i dont have a chevy tahoe ... i have a chevy venture..

which isnt in the sample diagram

  • DO reapir manuals carry the ECU pinout diagrams ??

  • Sorry ,

but as an electronic technician I disagree with you using a test light for troubleshooting! Because it only shows U that there is some voltage present! NOT what the correct voltage should be! Suppose U have a high resistance fault due to corrosion or a bad connection? True RMS (for AC) meters with high input impedance (so you don't load the circuit down in parallel )is the only way to go!

Like a FLUKE 87! Or equivalent.

  • thank you! :D

  • Great!!!

  • very nice video my friend... im also a master tech and 9/10 times the load is the problem... for good reason to lol. great video..

  • Excellent teaching video!!! I highly recommend it.

  • it's called destination! ...i.e you work backward from the power source.

  • it's called destination!

  • Thank you so much!!!

  • I needed to check the tail lights wiring diagram of a BMW 1996...I went in to your website and use your all data...but I could not find any BMW's.

  • hey sir mark awesome info....i go to "Uti" im working on my car "cluster's , dash r out....but anyways imma go check d site fr diagram.. the best ive seen hear thanks for sharing.thanks again sir ..

  • Good video

  • wow nice one! hes very professional!

  • This vid helped me very much thanks.

  • Hi.. Good Voice commentary..

  • hey thanks for making this video, good explanation.

  • Thank you so much Mgittelman your the best =]

  • Excellent video. After watching this video, I realized that the diagrams I was using to diagnose my electrical issue were inadequate, so I downloaded info from the Helms. I had no power at any loads in my failing circuit, so I decided to work from the fuse forward. I found the problem in the first connector in the path below the fuse box - the pin for the failing circuit's wire wasn't making constant contact. So, I twisted the pin a few degrees, and it's been working fine ever since.

  • Thanks again Mgittelman, you are the MAN!, Yes I understand, I finally understand :)

  • Excellent, Thank you so Much, you explained it so well, that even I understand and Can Do it, wow, just one rookie question,: when your checking for power, the +/black lead can go to any ground point ( I at this point I only understand the ground Point as being the chasis) Power would be 12v, but when you get to the far point of the relay, you say the ground activates the relay, and you have to check for a good ground? how do you check for ground? ,

  • @nyvendor "how do you check for ground?" A good method is to connect your test light clamp to the positive terminal of the battery ( instead of ground) If you touch a ground with the tip of the test light and it illuminates that would indicate a good ground.

  • I'm enrolled in an Electrics Auto Tech class and I must say this helped out tremendously, thank you very much sir!

  • thank u .

  • excellent!

  • Good info, thanks for sharing your knowledge.

  • Great video, Thanks

  • Good Video

  • Good video but I would like to see everyone change the way they check for power. The only way to check for proper power and ground is to "load" the circuits. This can be done by using proper tooling or simply place a fuse across the power and ground and blow the fuse. A test light draws very little current and just indicates power and not current flow. Depending on convenience, you can start anywhere in the circuit, but if the load is easily accessible, it is the best point. Well done.

  • Good info but I would change a few things 1st check the fuse, 2nd check power to load , then 3rd jump the relay b+ to load & recheck for b+ at the load, you will know right away if it is a relay problem! why go to to a connector that may be hard to get to? 4th Hook test lite to battery b+ and ground side of relay going to horn switch if it lites then the switch and ground are good. I agree hands on diagnosis ithe the only way to go.

  • nice video mgittelman, i myself am a trans tech for the last 30yrs and deal with problems all the time, it is nice to see people post there skills on youtube, thanks

  • very good information! thanks for posting this vid.

  • Thanks excelent

  • Thanks for the info.

  • Muchas gracias! Excelente video en todos los aspectos. Thanks very much again. Is an excellent video, very clear and easy to understand

  • cool I've got no break lights on my elky got to try this when the weather breaks

  • thanks a lot!

  • that's the way i've done it for 35 yrs. very good video.

  • thankx for you great job.

  • liked it alot i kinda knew process of elimination was there somewhere now i know at the load great help

  • awesome work

  • Great vid.

  • @Powerworm17 your a good teacher cant you show as a short to ground or short to power or a open cercuit checks thanks

  • Great vid

  • Have you discovered the Polatron-1 polarity detector? You will find it interesting and will not inadvertently harm sensitive electronic components

as old fashion incandescent test lights do

  • nice vid

  • When it comes to nightmare electrical problems hands on diagnosis is the only way to go. I don't think I can help by e-mail. You might be best served by shelling out the bucks for a Honda dealer to get you straightened out. They will have the best factory wiring diagrams and know what to look for better then any private shop!

  • dude i have a nightmare electrical problem with my honda del sol, is there any hope for helping me??

  • @jehuty911 was it your roof i wonder??

    ;-)

  • fantastic!
