This video would be even better if the music wasn't playing, and you gave more of a tutorial how to do it. I wanna try this out and don't know where to start with hardware/software.
What does the laser do exactly? Do you have to create drivers for windows?
@Shagggyllama I took this about a year ago, way before i was making dedicated videos so i wasn't really thinking about the music. You can google search DAVID 3D scanner and should be able to find the program. Try searching "Kinect 3D scanner" on youtube, a lot of people have converted Microsofts Kinect motion tracking hardware to scan 3D objects.
@Shagggyllama the laser enables the camera to detect the object. I think i turned the exposure way up or way down till it was pitch black. Then when u turn the laser on the camera will pick up the intense light reflecting off the object, then the software produces the point cloud data
