i gotta say thats not much of a second gear, it shifts from what i can tell 5400 rpms in first to 4900-5000 rpms and it seems to hold it on the rev limited for 1-2 seconds. that kinda what my buddies 04 dodge ram 1500 hemi does, he put on a supercharger to boost it up to around 550hp and when he floors it the trans holds it on the rev limited for like 5 seconds, and god knows thats terrible for an engine and trans but it hasent exploded yet lol
@Thrash3rSkateRock You're right, since I don't have a G-force meter and the video does this no justice, it's easy for you to say that your truck will do better. Doesn't matter that the LS is a sport sedan, it's obviously not made to outhandle your truck. I'd like to see you try though, post a video.
@Carpoof1 nice car brother , I have an '01 in charcoal green metallic with that sexy sounding V8, I rip around like this all the time, they are fuckin fantastic cars. Don't care 'bout the downfalls, they are worth the trouble.
I have driven this specific LS at 152MPH according to the speedometer and 150 according to a Satellite signal. This video was just goofing around, I wouldn't video tape anything too serious.
I do not have any mods. I have another LS that will only do 143 so I guess this one is just fast. My friend had an SRT8 but he never had the guts to push his, have you topped yours out?
There has to be something wrong with your car. Even a V6 LS stock will go faster than that. Are you sure it was topped out? It will not accelerate as fast after 115, but it should still be noticeable. Make sure you are in "D5" because in "D4" you can't use 5th gear which might make a difference.
its doesnt have the sport package, i think thats why. its the one with the chrome bumpers and wood grain steering wheel and shifter and 16' inch alloys
All the sports package is is a suspension upgrade and chrome bumper trim delete. The 2002's had a speed limiter on them, but I believe it was set at 130-135
I see that your air bag light is on. I have the same problem. Does your horn work? The stereo buttons on the steering wheel? If not looks like you got the same problem as me, need a new clock spring.
Actually my radio buttons do work kind of, the horn works, but the cruise does not so I suspect the clock spring too, but another common problem is the connector under the seat for the side air bags wiggles and triggers the light, I haven't checked yet.
lol take it out of D5 man, that pesky overdrive gear will always cut in to ruin the fun once you take your foot off the gas...
