I have a little problem. When I try to make Iris and I move it there isn't black side. Colour is same both side: front and back (sorry my bad english). How I fix it?
@TheSanezu If I understand correctly, the material is displaying on both sides of the polygons? - in the material editor under Shader Basic Parameters there are 4 checkboxes, un-check the one that says display 2 sided. But dw, its not a problem to have it set to on
Problem: I cannot move an object anymore with the axises. When I create an object and click te move tool, the axises simply stay the same and i can only drag the object along the x and y axis by draging the meeting point of the 3 axisses in the viewports. I've tried resetting and reverting to startup layout, but none of that works. What do I do? :'(
@wannabeers sounds like you've accidentally locked off the axis somehow - go the hierarchy panel on the right (3rd tab) select Link Info & make sure all locks are unchecked and all Inherits are checked - either that or you ref co-ordinate system has been changed (see the drop down menu next to the scale button in the top menu) i.e. local, view, screen etc... view should be default
@aliekiddo i've deleted the config file which solves the problem, but it's always nice to know how it actually should be done so i'll remember it, thanks :D
What did you do when you made the cornea go transparent? was it a keyboard short cut. i was following along fine then 'poof' the cornea is transparent. I've been 'out of the game (tm)' for about 5 years, :(
@aliekiddo , thank you so much. This tutorial helped, only my cornea doesn't show the glossy texture a the end when I render it. How can I fixed this?
@spectaculair20 hard to say without seeing a render, could be ur lighting, or be sure to increase the specularity to a really high value - 1 thing i don't really mention in this tutorial is to set the IOR (index of refraction) of the material to 1.33 so the cornea appears water filled, rather than air filled as a value of 1.0 would result in
@aliekiddo , it's already fixed! I deleted the cornea before so that went wrong. Then I copied the iris and rotated it but then it did'nt work because you could only see the texture inside. But I made a new cornea. It cost a bit time but now the texture works, thanks anyway.
@spectaculair20 ah, i see - the normals were flipped, theres a button in the edit poly menu that u can flip the normals of selected polys or apply a normals modifier on the object & collapse it - u can see this at 1:22 where the polys are black - essentially the object is inside-out
having all those crazy polygons isnt the best idea for an in game model... this tutorial should be used in video quality graphics only... i was looking for a more simple tutorial on how to make game quality eye lids lol
not bad. I usually select and create different id's on the same mesh, then create another sphere to go over over the first one and giving it the right material settings to create the glossy look of the eye.
Thanks very much for the tutorial, it took me alittle bit for me to catch on to what you were doing but i finally managed to understand how you made the eye
Well Aeres3006... A few friends wanted me to make this, and I figured they'd actually have the knowledge base to work out what's going on (even if 2 of them forgot my birthday yesterday...)
Do u really need me 2 tell u how to shift+rotate????
@catsareterrorists this was actually my 3rd attempt at capturing this, there was a lot of background noise @ the time so i got fed up with redoing it, lol
thank you very much dude i like it........

@Alpha17x just Ctrl+X - makes an object transparent in viewport

Do you have eye rigging advanced scripts?
Where can i download them?
Akila96 9 months ago
@Akila96 just a look at constraint to the dummy, no scripting required
aliekiddo 9 months ago
@aliekiddo no i mean a script for when the eye rotate, move the vertices of the face.

I think it's too much polygon for just one single eye. Imagine the whole character.
TheodenN 11 months ago
Good try, good skill, but poor as a tutorial. I can't make out what you're doing, or where you're clicking.
But at least I kinda see the principle, but you should definitely add a voice-over to explain exactly what you're doing.
Thanks anyways.
