  • The Academy people are nominated based on who's rubbing shoulders with whom. It's sad that after reading Jennifer Hudson's autobiography on weight loss, there were quite a few clues dropped by her on how the Academy works and that's by studios pushing their favourite names to the Academy, Jennifer included. Film festivals are the places to see good moving films and not the Oscars. Having Hugo thrown in at the last minute for 11 nominations this year is just rubbish because the movie was shite.

  • The Academy has been a joke since I was in my teens. That's why everyone is turning to film festivals (Cannes, venice, Tribeca) for true celebration of cinematic art. Thats why some of the best cinema such as spanis (almodovar), Iranian (kiarostami) and Japanese (Kurusawa) cinema is known amongst movie buffs and cinema students but largely ignored by mainstream America.

  • can't wait to see this movie)

  • Fassy is so yummy in this Shame is going on my DVD list!!!

  • Michael Fassbender makes George Clooney and Brad Pitt look like last week's mashed potatoes.

  • @jckfmsincty and is less smug.

  • @jckfmsincty Brad is decent, but seems stoned most of the time. I don't get Clooney's appeal at all. He is fine behind the camera. Leo is terribly overrated. In fact, I can't stand the twerp.

Michael Fassbender and Ryan Gosling are the future in film.

  • 2:59

  • Fassbender and McQueen were both fucked out of the dignity of at least an Academy nomination. Fucking joke. That pathetic excuse of a cliche film called The Descendants and its mediocre-ass performance by Clooney are going to win. Jesus Christ... what's wrong with the world...

  • @thechoosendude Too right mate!! This movie has stayed with me very day for a month now! As for the oscars, I wouldn't worry about them...they've always celebrated mediocrity. (well in the last decade or so more often tan not). They don't reward risk! They reward movies that give people what they want, movies that are well executed but ultimately hollow. Apart from 'no country' has there been an oscar winnin movie that people can honestly say is their favourite ever in the last decade??

  • @thechoosendude Agreed. The Academy ignored Fassbender and Gosling. Russell Crowe even stated that the Academy is bullshit for ignoring Ryan this year.

  • And this film and its actors got no Academy Award nominations? None at all? That's pathetic.

  • The Oscars don't deserve Shame or Drive.

  • Why did they have to cast Carey Mulligan??? UGH!!!!

  • @backto1960 They cast Carey Mulligan because she is among the finest actresses of her generation and because her personal charm is off the charts .

  • @rlegear19 finest actresses of her generation? LOL!!! Now that is hilarious. Her acting range consists of wrinkling her lips to, well, wrinkling her lips. She ruined this movie. They should have cast another actress with more depth.

  • @backto1960 If you saw Carey Mulligan in Doctor Who's "Blink", "Never Let Me Go" and especially "An Education" and still do not believe her to be a great actress, ......... then my friend, you are an IDIOT.

  • @rlegear19 She has no range. She plays the same character in every movie : vulnerable, innocent victim. If you think otherwise then you my friend are an enormous IDIOT!!!!

  • @backto1960 The "Blink" and "An Education" roles both required a wide range and she knocked it out of the park.

  • It is hard to believe that Oscar thought there were 5 better performances in their respective categories because Carey and Michael were fantastic.

  • @rlegear19 Aaaahh the oscars are a load of muck!!! Very corrupt and generally tend to celebrate movies who play it safe and make no mistakes.

  • The Scorsese - De Niro of our times. I am still reeling from the power of Fassbender's performance in Hunger.

  • If the Americans aren't first (at everything) they ignore..Shame!

  • Shame Y U NO show in Israel?!

  • if you´re mad this guy didn´t get an oscar nomination, don´t worry, he definitely seems like he can win 1 or even 2 throughout his career.

  • He should've gotten an Oscar nom for this. Simply a stunning performance.

  • Unfortunately not nomees for Academy Awards :(

  • can someone tell me? is this film talking about brother complex?

  • I am so looking forward to see this!

  • MICHAEL IS HOT!

  • Michael Fassbender: Strong, Talented and Powerful - OSCAR!

Carey Mulligan: Exquisite, Beautiful, and Powerful - OSCAR!

Steve McQueen: HELL OF A DIRECTOR: OSCAR!

  • Hey, that's Shia Laboeuf's girlfriend from wall street

  • Steve McQueen should be nominated for Best Director......hopefully, they will recognize that fact and not focus on his ethnicity, which unfortunately tends to happen in Hollywood.

  • Steve McQueen is the shit, great artist overall

  • God - Fassbender will have an even bigger army of female 'devotees' after this little gem - but seriously, he is such a FINE actor and of course his astounding sex appeal is secondary ..... :)

  • @spikeyisland70 bravo! im glad someone else thinks that too

  • @mpershern :)

  • It's great to see a black director directing such a wonderful film such as this, and not your typical "black film" that have been so prevalent in Hollywood.

  • Dear GOD! I remember when he was on Hex on the BBC!!! He's still fine as HELL!!!!

  • Carey's face looks sooo wide

  • Omds I thought steve mcqueen wud be some white dude!

  • Damn it, now I want to watch this movie D:

  • I love Fassbender. He's mainly a Good actor, then a beautiful man. He's perfect. I wonder what his parents will think about this film. I'd like to see his mother's face. XD

  • WOAH I had no idea Steve McQueen was black. As a black man I've got to say I'm proud of him. Good to see somebody other than Tyler Perry getting their movies made.

  • @TWill800 hey, at least he doesn't look like the other one.

  • @TWill800 I thought the same thing too, which goes to show that you can transcend a person's color through sheer talent and skill.

  • @TWill800 not sure why you would be proud of someone cause they were the same color as you. does that mean you are connected to all black mens actions? you should be proud of him cause of his work alone. why take pride in things you have no control over. height, color, race, nationality.. etc? take pride in things people accomplish. thats like me being "what!, rihanna has green eyes. omg, me too! now i REALLY like her music."

  • @checkmateproductions People with green eyes didn't suffer hundreds of years of oppression, I doubt @TWill800 is generalising all black people but in fairness black people tend to have a chip in their shoulder about their race whereas this fellow seems to have handled it with wit and simultaneously getting a dig in at Tyler Perry...I liked it! Also don't think proud was the appropriate word but I'm assuming he meant it's good to see? Stop your gurning

  • @Megank81 just because black people in the past suffered years of oppression doesnt mean that because you are black today you are associated with that. im white, but i dont associate myself with slave drivers. i associate myself with people who do things that i do regardless of color. we are all modern day americans (assuming) who live in an equal opportunity country with laws that enforce it. the color of a mans skin should be no more significant than the color of his eyes. good movie!

  • @TWill800 hes an artist he won a turner prize for his video art so polar opposite of tyler perry! hes more like terrence malik.

  • @TWill800 Alot of people think his is the white actor from the 60s lol. You should see his first feature, Hunger. It will bring you to the brink of tears. His art work is great as well.

  • @TWill800 He's from england, it's not exactly the same ballpark.

  • Desperate to watch this movie.

  • @crazy4fassy Absolutely know how you feel. :) i don't know how i can get my hands on this. i've watched the trailer so many times, i've lost count!

  • Someone please give this man an Oscar!

  • @zeninca alguien por favor que me deje comerme a Michael Fassbender ... por favor, si??

  • 2:51 wow! The chemistry between them is undeniable! Love this.

  • michael and carey have great chemistry! can't wait for the dvd!!!

  • can't wait to see this. solid.

  • @sixamsedna its excellent
