  • I have the same guitar, only a 93 model, from what I can find its a true fender, made with the same body and neck as american made. they were assembled in korea with cheaper pu's, electronic, tuners etc. I also have a mim strat squire, 93, thats plays and sounds as good as my 04 deluxe amer strat. these are not even in the same catagory as the squires made today. In my opinion there the best bang for the buck out there, hope this helps

  • the fender strats made in mexico that are squire series have the body and neck of a fender but the hardware, electronics, and pickups are squire

  • one of the first squiers (from 80s) who has an fender decal and is made in korea.this like the first squier JV basses which is made in japan and olso had an fender decal in the beggining.

  • What you have is a made in Korea Fender which are good guitars, but like most made in Korea Fenders the pickups aren't that good. If you want to spend the money on pickups you will have a good guitar. At least it's not a made in China tele that buzzes and makes weird noises.

  • Do you even smoke ?

  • Burning you fucking guitar doesnt fucking make it fucking roadworn fuck face...hope this helps.

  • Squier is now a subsidiary of Fender, like Epiphone is to Gibson, and they are labeled diferently than those early 90's ones like the one you have. Regardless, don't worry about the name. If you like the guitar then that is all that matters. Buying a MIA Fender is a waste of money. Get a Squier body, change out the bridge, the pickups, all the other electronics, and get a Warmoth or other replacement neck and you will have a guitar that will SMOKE any MIA Fender for the same or less money!!!!!!

  • These early 90's, from 91-95 I believe, Fender-Squier series guitars are different than the current Squiers made today and are generally thought to be of higher quality. They are usually close to on par with the older MIM Fenders. I think that the Fender-Squier series that were made in Mexico are usually more highly regarded than the ones made in China, like the one you have. That said, the current Squiers are a lot better than they were even 5 years ago.

  • All you dumb FAGS need to stop with the "he ruined the guitar by putting a burn mark on it." I personally think that relicing guitars is fucking stupid but, it's his guitar and he can do it if he wants. He didn't affect the playability of the guitar in the slightest. Eric Clapton's "Blackie" guitar and and Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Lenny" guitar both had burn marks in that same general area. Were they ruined you dip shits??????

  • if it was a fender, it wouldn't say squier anywhere

  • stupid faggot, you don't even know how to put your strings

  • Shame about burning your Fender, but it's your guitar... These are nice guitars, i have a MIA Squier Strat i paid 29.50 at the pawn, it sounds Great...

  • well fender is the brand name and squire is the model......so it's both

  • man why burn a guitar I love my guitars and look after them god damn you just ruined a awesome guitar lol.

  • It's Fender Squier series. Have strat from 94. This series is awesome so stop treating it like some shitty SkyWay.

  • When fender first came out with em, the fender logo was bigger than squier. It is a squier tho

  • believe me squier strats can be at times better than the real thing

  • @marycockburn1 yeah, the older fender squires with the word "Squire" in gold script are amazing.......the necks feel great. ......and you can always change the pick-ups to what ever you like

  • @inkey2 Those were made in japan by tokai-killer guitars!

  • Who the fuck burns the guitar....?

  • the serial says its made in the cort factory 92 -C=cort factory N=ninety then 2 is the year,

then the number.if thats any help .

i have a korean strat thats cort 94.

it could be someone put the fender logo on.

  • it is probaly a fender and their is a series called squier becouse it would say affinity or standard if it was a squier.

  • Squier. Korean made, plywood body. Is a decent guitar, once you change the crappy stock tuners, if u still have it.

  • I would sand off the squire series ;)

  • Hahahah you burned it, wtf. That cracked me up.

  • This is a Squier. IDC what anyone says. My uncle worked for Fender from 1990 to 2003. When Squier was first put on the market, Fender put their logo on the front part of the head stock in bigger letters than the Squier logo, to make it look like a Fender from the untrained eye. It wasn't till the mid-late 90's that the Fender logo became alot smaller than the Squier logo..the Fender logo started being printed under the Squier in tiny letters (Squier by Fender)

  • PLYWOOD SQUIER

  • made in early to mid-90s, budget fender

  • Trying to make it look vintage? Hahaha! All you fucking did was ruin it. Stop being poor and actually start saving up to get a real aged reissued instrument. You're a dumbass.

  • @MasterxMorgan

Or instead of paying a bunch of money to get an already beat up instrument, he could do it himself over the years. I think YOU'RE the dumbass here.

  • Not really "beaten up." More so aged or worn out. Besides, it's true. He can do it himself over the years, and it will gain value, but he ruined it after he bought it. Who the fuck would buy new axe, then ruin it's new finish? That's my beef, you retard. Maybe if you read my comment more thoroughly, you would've understood. But no, your intelligence quotient is fewer than the amount of letters and numbers in your username. So, I'll just block you now to prevent from getting more dumb replies.

  • you scared me there for a second, I ran downstairs and panicked that mine was a squier. Luckily it dind't say squier anwhere, so I was in the clear. A close shave. You scared me so bad man!

  • dude i forgot in the 80s or 90s fender had a series of guitars called the squier series, it was still a fender then until the separated the name to make it a sub brand which is now squier, it's definitely genuine

  • squier, but the owner are very, very very stupid!!! ass all

  • youre a dumbass for burning your guitar

  • Just listen to it lol

  • you burnt your guitar... are you a moron??

  • Comment removed

  • its a squier by fender. could have sold it for more if you hadn't "vintage'd" it up. Put it on CL for $50 (i wouldnt pay more than that for damaged squeezer) and put that money toward the real thing. If you like tele's, or fender for that matter. everyone says the MIJ fender's are of better quality than the MIM's. Obviously the MIA's are the best option but cost considerably more.

  • Thats a fake fender

  • @rockboy129 no its not. squier is still fender its just the cheaper version of fenders. it has crappyer pickups and parts

  • ITS A SQUIRE BY FENDER

  • dont shit man! and start playing!!!

  • sell it... and buy a good guitar..

  • Very interesting for sure. Says made in Korea but has CN (China) serial number. Boy, you've got a real mess going on there. Hahah. If all that stuff was on it when you got it new, you have a collector's piece just based on all the contradictions and confusion. Strange!

  • @doinkusamongus CN Series: C=CORT(factory) N=Nineties(9) Serial Number CN 2.....= Cort 1992/Made in Korea

  • if you want a vintage look, save your money and buy like a '51 strat. dont buy the guitar and destroy it. thats just a waste of money.

  • @Bballnerfmvp its also a waste of money to buy a broken shitty guitar and call it 'vintage'

  • @JulietsMan a '51 strat isnt a "broken shitty guitar"

  • @Bballnerfmvp i know im just saying that if somebody buys a crappy guitar or even middle of the road one and takes it out of thebox and smacks it with a hammer a few times pours a beer on it and writes gibson on it it still wont be vintage. vintage is an instrument that has history. even shitty guitars with years and miles and stories to tell can be considered vintage.

  • @JulietsMan i never said anything about that. i just told him to not waste his money to beat up a guitar

  • Your vintage wear fucking sucks. That poor guitar.

  • if youre trying to make it look vintage why did you burn it. who acccidently burns their guitar. vintage guitars have NORMAL wear

  • @ilikepenguins100 No need in doggin on the cat man. Its just what he likes. Maybe (like most of us) he cant afford a vintage guitar so he wants to make his own whip more like the guitars he dreams of? I preffer to age mine with normal playabillty and letting it hold my cigarette every now and again but I aint gonna bash on this cat for "rellicing" his. It's like religion man.....if I worship a dog and you worship a cat then why cant WE get along. Stop raging man. Chill.

  • To people talking shit about him burning the guitar, 4 words: JIM HENDRIX WILD THING !

The time I burned my guitar it was like a sacrifice. You sacrifice the things you love. I love my guitar.

    Jimi Hendrix

  • The make is Fender terard !!!!

  • Ignorance.... 1st, you burned a Fender. On purpose. You don't deserve it. Well, that's harsh but still dumb move. 2nd, its a genuine FENDER. In this case "Squier" is just a series. Its listed in the '92 Fender catalog in the Fender section separate from the Squier by Fender brand.

These are becoming collectible. Check the Strat-Talk and Fender forums. My 92 MIK Strat is a real player. Under appreciated by most until they play it.

    PUT THE LIGHTER DOWN!

  • Its a fake Squire. Fender, Squiers are made in China. They also dont show the serial numbers on the front of the headstock but the back.

  • Why would you purposely ruined the finish on a guitar, then burned part of it..?

  • my first guitar was a fender copy, new for $80

  • it is very self explanatory. it says fender. and it says squier series. a 1990s cort made fender squier series basswood tele that you have done unholy things to (sanding, burning). you sir, are a dumbass twice over.

  • Comment removed

  • After four years, two months, three weeks and three days no one knows yet? It's an oar for his Crownline 325SS...

  • you should post that on yahoo 'cos I've seen worst questions in there

  • Squire but older model

  • No idea. I have a squire strat lol. Great pickups.

  • Fender started the Squire "series" before they launched the brand name Squire. So it's just before the Squire name became a stapled of a brand. Fender's field test in a way. Hope it helps. Peace. -Cody Lee Meece

  • its a squier

  • yeah but i think hes so confused because theres just a little squier logo ;)

and the fender one is twice as big.. on mine its the other way round ^^

  • Squire is a model series name under Fender. Don't make things complicated man ;)

  • It's the original Squier line made by Fender.... first they started off by saying Fender Squier Series and then switched later to Squier by Fender. It's a good quality guitar... it was made in the Cort (C) factory in Korea in the Nineties (N) specifically 1992 (N2). I wouldn't mess it up too much, as was mentioned let time and play wear it out naturally. It's actually a good guitar.. Upgrade the pickups if you must.

  • Fender + America = Fender (American)

Fender + Mexico = Fender (Mexican)

Fender + China = Squier (so no people sell those Chinese series as American or Mexican, big difference in price)

  • It says Squier. What do you think it is?

  • 7ender

  • take off the made in korea and squire stickers and you have a fender!

  • Squire. Dont doubt me.

  • @Guitarledgend0123 Hard not to doubt you when you can't spell Squier right.

  • @rurik69 Sorry, pal. I was reading the title before i typed the comment; and Guess what? Squier is spelt incorrectly in this videos title as well! Before you ridicule my spelling, take a look or two at your own grammar.

  • @name24king nice solid joke

  • Koduğumun evladı çalsana ne bokuna reklam yapıyorsun gece gece ayar oldum ya.fender a o made in koreaymış göt.

  • squier

  • its a squier

  • probably a korean knock off

  • the CN in the serial number gives it away. korean strats were sometimes made in the CORT guitars factory, and were given the "CN" at the begining of the serial number. that doesn't mean it isnt a "fender" but it also probably isn't a high quality fender by any means.

  • @mwellmon true true... @DeSmetownescbc i should punch you

  • There's nothing wrong with good Squiers and old ones.

The trouble with Squier is that they tend to make really crap guitars and really good ones and nothing in between. The old Squiers and the Classic Vibe series are as good as MIM Fenders (in fact I'd rather have a Classic Vibe than a MIM Strat) and are perfectly good guitars, but their low-end entry level guitars are sins against humanity.

  • its a squire. back when squires started being produced as a sub-brand to fender, they carried the fender logo, and then in the nineties the squire logo was put on.

  • Ha you should have burnt the whole thing then it really would have looked vintage ha jk but tht is a nice telecaster tho

  • Did anyone else notice how his G string is wound around the post?

  • @WoWintosh Yes.

You, Mr video-poster, are a terrible person. String it properly.

  • its a Squire, under Fender name, like Epiphone is a Les Paul family basicly

  • lol if it were a squier it has wrong spelling

  • guitar has, at least ten years

  • ok, its actually pretty simple i am really surprised that anyone doesnt know this but before squier, the brand, existed, it was just a series made by fender so that beginners or players on budget could afford it, it was later created the complete new division squier, wich is what you know from today. That is actually what it says that its a fender telecaster squier series. the quality must aproximately the same as one of the squiers that you can buy nowadays, but one thing is for sure, that

  • @uranusurfer These Squier series are not the same as todays cheap Squier's they are of similar quality as Mexican/Jap Fenders. And are real Fenders but with cheaper hardware.

  • @esemceX it really depends on wich models we are talking about, of course this guitar has better quality than bullet or affinitty series, but i would say that when compared to the classic vibe series they would be kinda in the same level

  • I love Fender so much more than Gibson or Epiphone

  • squire and fender is like epiphone and gibson

  • @R3dTigerM40A3 i find that epiphone are better compared to mexican or japanese fenders, although some of the lower range epiphones are more like the quality of squiers.

  • @MrLaserprint i have a 1000$ epiphone,i played a squire i i found it better than my jackson,my ibanez etc,it was wierd

  • @R3dTigerM40A3 yeah you do get some good squiers coming out of the mix, i have a $1500 epiphone and i think that it is better than a les paul studio and almost as good as a gibso standard, cheaper guitars are getting good.

  • @MrLaserprint yeah,you right

  • basically the same company, different divisions. what a great company

  • ok, i'm going to buy a strat soon and i've been researching a lot about squiers vs. fenders. i read somewhere that the very first squier guitars, made right after squier switched from manufacturing strings to guitars, were marked exactly as you described. so, you have a vintage squier, not a fender.

  • A real Fender is made by hand in the U S and A... period!

  • It's not a fender!! It's just a fuckin' "made in korea" guitar!

  • squire series were made in japan and korea. they were higher end than mexican made ones now. they have a great resale value, theyre not the same squiers that are made in indonesia and china today

  • you don't deserve that guitar, not even a walmart 50 dollars one,

  • Guys let me make somethin clear... Fender is fender! Now Fender has models like Squire, Telecaster, Stratocaster and so on.. If you have a Telecaster, that means that u aint got a fucking telecaster squire, u just have a telecaster!

  • @arxidi666 that's wrong. :3 squier = budget line of fender guitars. a squier telecaster is a budget version of a fender stratocaster, but they're both made by fender. it's like, say toilet paper (so random XD) one company might make "Deluxe Soft Tissue" and "Squier Soft Tissue". The squier tissue would be the same model but a cheaper version. get it?

  • @stefanathon1 OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..... Goddamn i suck.. -.- =P

  • squire .. well better then squiller :D

  • why would you beat up an original squire? The first squires were made in the early 80s with the fender logo that was later changed to a squire logo. That would have been worth some money maybe.... But not all beat up!

  • Sqender

  • squier is a brand name owned by fender

  • its a fender, and a pretty good one, although im only educated on the japanese squier series.Ive seen the japanese ones go for around 350 in used condition, but because you reliced it so i doubt you would get that

  • its definately a squier

  • Comment removed

  • Squier is Fender, so yes it's a Squier but no quality difference or anything. both brands are = as good.

  • i do all my research and i own a bunch of fenders and squirs

i have a telacaster just like that and a real deal fender telecaster and the real fender doesnt say squir series how ever much u bought it for should tell u

    sorry bro

  • plywood squier

  • The old squiers were like this, its a fender, squier series.

  • Fender will never put "squier" on the headstock unless it actually is a Squier guitar.

  • @musicman509 bullshit. Some japanese squier had the fender logo on the neck.

  • te timaron amigo mio... eso NO es una fender...

  • te timaron amigo mio

  • I've got a Korean Strat like this Big Fender little Squire. I also have a Korean Squire Tele . The Big difference in these Tele' is 1 lamenated [plywood body] Take your control panel off and if it is you'll see the stacking of layers . 2 The strings dont go through the body. Just tune it and play it to the best of your abil and buy you a good MIM or US or even Japan Tele. Oh Made in Mexico MIM.

  • It's a Squier, which is made by Fender. They made the Squier logo small to hide the fact that it's the cheaper model. Sweet axe, and there is nothing wrong with Squiers. After all, it's still a Fender.

Serioulsy, drop in some top-quality telecaster pups, and maybe change the nut, and it's identical, at a fraction of the price.

Again, great guitar, made by Fender to Fender's standards, just in a country other than US or Mexico.

  • i don't think fender has a factory in CHINA. that's fake dude. HAHAHAHA !

  • Got a prob with it saying made in korea?

  • its squire if it says squire

  • Its an early squier before they went to the larger squier logo and smaller fender logo. I've heard that some of these can be really nice but I believe those ones are the Japanese version.

  • Don't worry about the brand. If you play like a musician...no matter what guitar you use...as long as you can plug it in an amp and rock on with it...you will always sound good.

  • @cnetbyte05 not really..

  • the "made in Mexico" are the best guitars of fender

  • @sparingjet those are the mid ones dude, the best ones are the american standarts

  • If your that worried about it: Just sand the squier logo off

  • If it is a Squire or a Fender, its still the same guitar :/

HAHA look at 0:19, find one wrong thing

  • @havaden96 yeah, it says that it's made in china. LOL

  • If it is a Squire or a Fender, its still the same guitar :/

  • learn how to string your guitar. Dude

  • should have got the american tele....

  • thats a good question i would say it is a squire, coz why would a fender telecaster ( a real one) have squire on it ?

  • @Syver95 Epiphone IS Gibson.

  • I own Fender Tele's and Squier Tele's.

    I love em all!

A logo don't make any difference.

Can you see the logo when you are playing?

    No!

Its a lovely guitar, love it for what it is.

  • the price should've given you the answer.

  • con que funcione date por ganado!

    ok?

  • lol "cn" korean squiers dont start with cn

  • @andrewm9999 Cor-Tek in Korea made Fender Strats and Squier by Fender Strats back in the day.

  • Yeah, It sais "Squier series" on it, Because at the time that these were made, was about the same time fender was establishing the Squier brand, to try and expand their company, and add a bit more value, so they made these. The parts will be all fender, And the guitar itsself is made by fender, They just put the squier series on it, To bring attention to the squier name. however, You shouldnt worry about the brand whatsoever, Squier, along with with fender, Is a great Brand. A rare find too!

  • do you buy a guitar for its sound or for its brand?

  • That there is a 92/93 FENDER TELECASTER. Not a Squier Telecaster by Fender. Its a FENDER TELECASTER that happens to be a "Squier Series". Kind of like a Strat "Collector Series" or "ANY SERIES HERE". Look at the parts. The tuners. The serial # spacing doesn't even match SQUIER"S OWN SITE. They are rare. And I know they are also great to play. I have a Strat of the same caliber. Same serial number detail. CN(space)211***. on mine though.

It was also my 1st guitar. Hold on to that :)

  • Easy=Squier...

  • It's a pretty good squier, but it has a fender logo because squier is by fender so it's acctually the same, a logo will not affect the sound.

it has a big fender because it's made with fender wood and hardware, but maded by squier..

  • well, in early 90's korean got the contract to make Fender Squire, competing against Japanese builder, the Korean builder made them so good that Fender co. was so impressed with the workmanship that they let them put a bigger fender logo with smaller squire series in it.

  • it might be one of those 80's ibanez copies

  • es tu madre guay

  • r u a f****** fool is is a f****** squire if it was fender it would not say squire on it and by the way buy a better guitar

  • making it look "all vintagey" should never be done by anything but time and wear and tear from playing

  • @mwellmon yea i agree the reason people like vintage is because the aged wood sounds better and the years of playing it makes the guitar sound better, and makes it feel more natural/comfortable to play....kicking your guitar around and lighting it on fire just makes it look shitty and fake.

  • @mwellmon

    agree

  • @mwellmon Dude even fender sells guitars made all vintagey by themselves and people buys them all the time it's like paying a fortune for a trashed guitar. why can't the kid do it himself

  • its a fender squire tele. fender makes squire for entry level guitarists.

  • It's a Squier. The Fender logo was a bonus on those.

  • Idiot.

  • if it has the same quality as the classic vibe its the best guitar on the planet

  • Its a Fender. "Squier Series" has nothing to do with the Squier brand name. There was also a "Traditional Series" also. They are discontinued.

  • Just to be clear not all fenders are made in korea. The low end fenders are made in korea. The standard fenders are made in mexico. And the high grade fenders are made in america. Yours is a sqwire

  • sorry but if it was a fender, it wouldn't say squier anywhere. Its a squier

  • @Syver95 Epiphone and Maestro are both sub-brands of Gibson. They're not as well-made, but they're still Gibson guitars.

  • fender makes squeir your dummass whith a big head you dont even know you shuold at least google ir retard

  • Also, squier is mispelt as squire on yours. (I own a squier fat strat)

  • I'm thinking fake fender done by someone who knows very little about them. Squier is a subsidiary of fender, as epiphone is to gibson, and the person who made this obviously mistook squier for a fender line, so then tried to recreate it. How much did you get it for?

  • w8 i think ur guitar is fake squier is spelled as "squier" not "squire" correct me if what i saw is wrong i cant see it clearly

  • Squier is to Fender what Epiphone is to Gibson. Lower quality control and made in Asia, generally.

  • itz a squire by fender!

  • squier is owned by Fender corp. its a part of Fender so if you have a Squier or a Fender they were technically made by the same people.
