As a former conductor on the Bay Coast railroad, I'd like to remind all rail fans to keep up the good work and always wear ear protection when getting footage of trains near grade crossings. Those horns will blow out eardrums and potentially make the individual deaf.

Note: Trains do not hit cars. They do not turn into, steer towards, accelerate into. They are on a fixed track. Vehicles hit trains. They are the only object in the equation capable of taking evasive manuvers. Therefore, Trains are 99% innocent. Only in rare cases is the train able to hold some blame for the event.

Trains = Multi ton forces with fixed physical characteristics.

Cars = 1 ton idiot piloted forces with multiple possible safety measures that are rarely used.

My father's a track inspector for CSX...He'll bring home safety meeting notes (yep even the ones where you hear of the trains actually Hitting someone) and Has to deal wtih railfans all the time. He says that as long "as they know how to get the hell out of their way when working and when the train's are coming, they are ok." It's the idiots that stay on the tracks that he hates. There's nothing wrong wtih this hobby...just dont get this video...I guess I was expecting a near-miss or whatnot
