  • Hehe a band song for bassoon that actually goes up to a high Ab. Its a miracle XD. I can't wait for symphony to start again.

  • Nothing rouses the blood like a good march

  • everybody at my band LOVES this song with a PASSION!!!!!!!!! :)

  • I play flute and we have to play this as our midterm this year... I'm going to fail.

  • hahaha this is such crap compared to my highschools band.

  • @iatelilwayne cool story bro. :D prove it

  • This song is the most amazing song on clarinet!!!!! YAYZ Runs going to the high g above the staff!!!!!!

  • i LOVE this march!! the c-net part is soo much fun; all chromaticism :)

  • We just went to 3 contests playing this and we got 1st division every time and sweepstakes :)

  • as the second chair clarinet in my high school band, I LOVE this march, however everyone else hates it :/ the clarinet runs and melody at 87 are so fuuuuuunn! :D

  • We played this song today in City Competition(Chicago) as well as Faces of Kum-Ba-Yah by John Zdechlik and American Faces by David R Holsinger and we got 40/39/40 which is Honors Superior!!!

  • I hate this song because it was either this song or The Thunderer to play in our parade, and we chose this song which is not as nearly as good of a song as the thunderer.

  • whoo hoo!!! french horns!!! i am first chair and proud!! (: i really like this song, wre playing it for competition

  • Too slow.

  • i love the bass clarinet part <3

  • we're playing this right now in band! I play bells!

  • a little on the slow side, i agree, but way to bring out the clarinet counter melody in the trio.

  • @864hidan128 i counted it, and they were going about 134 and its 140

  • This is played way too slow...but good job

  • @Tiffawesomeness this isn' slow...any faster and the woodwinds wouldn't be able to keep up. this is just right to where you can actually hear what the flutes and clarinets are playing.. it might be to slow for the brass since their part is easy to play.

  • Our band played this last year...this is slow. We played it faster, and it sounded fine. The woodwinds were able to keep up. This band sounds great though!

  • @Tiffawesomeness I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE YOU PLAYED THIS FASTER..A MARCH SPEED IS MM., 120 THIS GROUP IS FLYING AT MM., 160 OR ALLEGRO CON FUOCO..I PLAYED PICCOLO ON THIS IN MY UNIVERSITY WIND ENSEMBLE AND PLAYED THE RUNS ON THE LAST STRAIN UP ONE OCTAVE,,WHAT THEY ARE MISSING IS I DIDN'T HEAR THE PICCOLO AT ALL AND THE LAST STRAIN THE PICC., SHOULD BE HEARD ABOVE EVERYONE ELSE. THEY SURE HEARD ME.

  • @larryglass61

    please don't shout.

  • LOVE this song we played it at the Rhode Island Allstate Honors Band 2009 :)

  • Dynamics?

  • dont you know its loud, and more loud

  • when the woodwinds play the 16th note runs it sounds like children singing.

  • I played bassoon on this and I always loved the part at the trio

  • omg! i hated playing this songon clarinet!!! it was so hard, i had issues keeping up! trumpets always rushed it alot! especially at measure 34! but i liked playing at 87 to 101. i am such a band nerd if i can remember the measure marks of this!!! T_T

    ...

    BAND NERDZ RULE!!!

  • @Xemosphere ha ha the baritones don't have to worry too much bout rushing, just how high they go..... FILMORE FTW!!!!!!!

  • @Xemosphere hell yea band nerds rule!!!!!!! trombone is obviously the best though

  • @Xemosphere ikr. we didnt have a good part in it tho. It sucked playing it in band!

  • @Xemosphere our conductor just took out a lot of the clairinets that couldn't play it... they didin't like that

  • @Xemosphere lol same here

  • WHERE IS THE PICCOLO??? I played piccolo on this in my university wind ensemble..after the trio and break strain the picc. is suppose to take those runs up an octave..sure does add some color to the march..anyway i was a show off..LOL

  • We are playing this for our concert next week, and I need to learn my part!!! AHHH! I have so many things to learn, that I just havent found the time for this one!

  • we're playing this for contest, and we're loving it! I love playing my part especially!

Flutes were great, and always heard in this recording!
