  • good morning my brother i have a ? as a first time producer what is the best webster's out their to sale my beat's on and how must should i sale my beat's for to become success in the music world and what if a major arteries contacts me for a beat how must should i sale to the artreies or should i lease it to them thanks my brother and i love your music and nice sound you are my teaher on youtube i thank you are a great produer.

  • Man this is one of the Best Producer in this Contest!!!

    /watch?v=xzTSeJDYL7U

  • great set up. thanks for the vid

  • shit fucking sick and nice setup. peace

  • diggin the beat and lovin the setup up you got in the basement its like heaven, neways jus droppin by to say sik beats n you should check out MICmusiconline i think they would rip this beat up

    ez PT

  • if were talking about producing it doesnt matter what you use or how things look at all its how everything sounds at the end of the day, recording is a whole different issue. i make great music on a shitty laptop with reason and pro tools (maybe fruity loops if im gonna sample) but yeh...this beat sounds mad 1992 tho! haha not hatin juss saying

  • you can`t make music. Equipment is not everything

  • Nice Studio bro!!! im from the Old School and Equipment was the way to go! Nowdays man im using Reason 5 and it is real cool to hear how close they have come with the refills to sound just like or if not close to the sounds in the original machines. I like both worlds but harware is so expensive nowdays!

  • madjef my name is stone i'm from cincinnati i got some hooks in song that need some hard beats behind it please get at me because i got some hits i can be reach at 513-498-8000

  • @tbone22603 hahahahah I bet Jeff heard that one a million times man.

  • you don´t sound real good too me but you make music

  • sick setup. not really feeling the beat at all though.

  • flipping samples harder than original music

    original music funner than sampling

    either way its good music.

  • CAN ANYONE ANSWER THIS FOR ME?????? WHAT'S BETTER, MPC3000 OR 4000?????

  • @01hezekiah get da 4000 or mv8800

  • Keep on doing what you do man......... thanks for sharing your gifts...... Jeff Allen aka The Original Man

  • MadJef keep doing what you do man..... Whn it comes to writing i prefer to do lyrics and melody ........ You make this look easy..... I holla

  • So are you guys knocking a hardware based studio? Because as I see it, he is using Hardware and software by use of Midi...I gave up all my Midi Controllers for a MPC 3000 and a Motif...I dont like software based studios but Hardware is really where its at when it comes to workflow, who wants to sit in front of a computer all day and make beats with something that doesnt even produce a sound...

  • This is exactly how i make my beats... so inspirational and motivation to keep mine goin

  • amazing man, i love the vibe of drums. keep up with the good work !

  • this beat is gangster!

  • thing is, in this day, equipment is a status symbol....i know some beat makers/producers that can make heavy songs, with just reason and samplitude. its all in the know how, learn the things you know, then move onto bigger things....

    Stayed blessed!!!

  • @basstester , yeah you right, for years I used an mpc60 thats it, later I bought lots of gear, not as a status thing but because in the 80's and 90s in order to sync gear together you needed a lot of gear, these days, all the sounds ever made are in Reason, if you are into what the instruments really sound like, you might want to own them. just saying, I love music, I love gear, I love google, just saying.

  • @basstester u get me too many producers with $100,000 studios filled wih fantoms and mpcs but i can make a betta beat with a pair of $5 dollar speakers a old keyboard used as a midi and smashhhh this guy. producing is all about taking advantage and making ur ideas cum to life.

  • @SoundProophRecordz Trust me, i use reason for making beats and sony acid to cut up samples. thats it. not that long ago, i had a beat battle with this dude with his own studio, kitted out with logic, apple macs, soundforce mixers....etc, and i still beat him with stock reason beats. the worst thing, i sampled one of his beats and made a grime beat out of it...just to add salt to the wounds.

Equipment isnt everything, its the person behind it. stay bless!

  • @basstester true, no point me gettin all this equipment if i dnt kno how to use it or wat it does, have to learn 1st :P

  • @SoundProophRecordz trust. :)

  • @basstester True but you have to think of it in a since of Fake it till you make it...If all i have is reason and a mac book and maybe a mic pre amp. And this other guy has a mpc5000 korg's mikos krk's great mics etc. Who do you think people will spend their money with if our beats are just as good as each others.

  • nice beat check mine out an subscribe

  • well.

it seems every video on utube involving a popular producer sucks.. have yet to find somthing worth listenin to..

  • check out ab0181. or black milk sick yotube vids

  • @Chicago612 yea but ive seen em already..

    D:

  • i see fl studio there...:D nice!

  • Great vibes created with speed....8+ Madjef 8+.

  • haha, not bad man, come check my channel out, and follow the link to my myspace to listen to my latest tracks!

  • check out my producin myspace . com/scottsacbibit

  • logic already got sum pretty nice drums

  • cdubis, I agree, but everybody has them that's why i put a lot of energy into creating custom kits.

  • hey good stuff bro what doy ou reccomend for a beginer to start out...right now i have a crack version of cubase and maudio 410 dx21 and my shure mic....

    is fl studio any good?????

  • Good Music

  • jairod88, thanks man, stay blessed thanks for check me out.

  • be my beats maker+producer! i need you man you are way to good!

  • End of the day though, you can have top notch equipment but if you don't know how to use it, then its useless to you. Fl, Reason, Logic etc all capable of making hits, as long as you got the know how.

  • NYSecond, very true.

  • are you the madjef that worked wit janett jackson?

  • @honeycon7 yes, i have had that pleasure. Ms. Jackson if you nasty!

  • hay thats crunk !!! im going to half to work with you some time, what song/s did u do with mrs jackson?

  • honeycon7, I was on the Jam&Lewis production team, I worked in many capacities. Most notable recording with her would be the "Janet" album.

  • awesome set up!!

  • TwinBeatsProductions, thanks, I used to have tons of gear, not so much anymore. These days less is more, nawmean

  • Mos Def less is more at times. If you really like less then you might be one of those cats that is into the OpenLabs Nekko & mekko series. I'm sure you would in deed like. I'm a logic user started using that when the emagic was running before Apple never looked back. Nice grove that right there is no rules to creation.

  • Nicely done. You have a cool set up (MPC,LOGIC and the MOPTIF all synched up). I can never get the midi synch stuff right.

  • wat is r u trying to midi up?its pretty easy with the mpc

  • I have my MPC1000 synched with a Motif Rack ES with the MP as master. It is working okay except for a small delay with the Motif when pressing play on the MP. How can I get my set up to synch with a DAW e.g Reaper.

  • could be a number of things,ur frame rate on the mpc might not be set to link up on time with the motif.hit shift & midi then turn ur sync mode to off on both midi in n midi out.then make sure both mcc are on

  • HEAVYWEIGHTFILMS, thanks for helping the young dude out.

  • no prob, man i run into problems all the time and i know how it feels to be strained up till 5 in the mornin lol

  • Keep Doing your thing MadJEF!

  • I love the simplicity and originality. It's a nice, smooth, groovy beat. Me like. I'ma definitely add you. You'll see me on youtube soon with some of my music up.

Keep doing ya thing man. Much respect. Peace

  • Nice flow, Most cats that dont base their beats on a sample have beats that are way too synthed out and sound spacey and electronic. That sounds more natural and organic. Tight

  • baldangryman, cool, glad you like that. i do quantitize sometimes but mostly i don't, i've just gotten into the habit of putting the beat down tight or loose depending on what i want it to vibe like. stay in touch.

  • Yo man, that shit is simple, but hot...

    Where you from?

    Peace From Amsterdam

  • maxshuliling, appreciate your feedback. I always work with the K.I.S.S. principle (Keep It Simple Stupid) LOL, that way i can get more work done, throw it down and move onto the next track.

    let me hear something.

  • Very nice my dude. Got my head noddin. Once thing tho. invest in a fantom G. Sounds are amazing.

  • BuzzhawgProductions, thanks man, i have heard that fantom G joint, its crazy. I love it. i'm kinda into making my own original sounds these days.

    peace

  • ppl always bad mouthing programs and equipment when it doesn't make a diff...if u hot then u hot....no matter what u use

  • NorthCockItBack07, i agree with you. if u hot u hot. no matter.

    peace

  • Thats a pretty good sound my dude keep it up check me out im kind new on youtube so let me know what you think Stay blessed and keep God first

  • trendsettatv205, thanks man, something you said is why you will be remembered. all the best.

    Giving God the glory

  • Fruity's sounds do suck but that would mean that you're using them stock...bad bad boys. Experimentation goes a long way. EQ, compression etc.

  • Dgblo, I know some dudes making records and big money with Fruity, i personally don't use it, bu hey, that's just me.

  • I like your groove man. Your good on your MP, you don't even got to quantize.

  • ruslanio, i'm glad you noticed that, i very rarely use quantitization. It doesnt feel natural to me.

  • This is a great video, I thought it was real good! Rated 5!

How did you get the beat from mpc at the beginning into Logic itself, is it just a case of pressing record in Logic? Then how do you sync it (Logic) to the beat?

Trilogy is sample based, so this means that the bass/sounds are recorded before hand and you can manipulate them?

Where do you get your samples from (gigabytes of samples etc)? I'm new to samples (whatever sounds they may be) and implementing them.

  • zodiacie, thanks for the compliments and excellent rating. regarding the bpm, its another way of locking your sample to a tempo, loop it for 4 bars or whatever and then adjust tempo to have it repeat without a glitch. secret squirrel baby.

    peace

    madjef

  • Thanks for getting Madjef, I think your answer for this video, is more for the other video I left comment on. This one was about the mpc and that

  • What Programm do u use?

  • SouthConnctionBeats - whats good, i mostly use Logic, but pro tools, reason, ableton Live its all good, but anything will do

  • ok, Thansk man

  • what is the board that you are using for the original beat? and are you using frooty loops on the computer?

    thanks

  • Atoweha, the keyboard i'm using there is a Novation X-station and no i'm not using fruity loops, i'm using logic.

    peace

    madjef

  • yeah not to be a douche or anything but fruity loops synths arnt really good for hip hop. more pop electro techno stuff. u'd have to get vst plugins, but god does it make the boom bap easy as fuck...

  • Truthfully, I've heard alot of different songs made in all types of hardware and sequencers...not much difference now a days. I totally agree with you, Fruity's sound banks suck big time, but the VST plug-ings is where its at! I have ableton live, reason and have access to logic, but I'm just too damn comfy with the Fruit. I figure as long as your heads knocking to the beat it don't matter what you use. Give me a jug, drumsticks/ plastic container and whistle and I'll rock that shit! lol

  • whatever works, for real. i like to create my own boom bap, nah mean? ok, get back to work.

    madjef

  • What up, cat, eeheheheeh!

  • ketnom, what it do mane.

    eeheeh

    madjef

  • Oy MadJef!

I just had that idea it would be really funny. And It is! :|) BigUp!

ps: Aren't you bored with that dog shit?

    Peace from Dublin, Ireland!

    Nice skills der!

  • Oy ketnom, what up Dublin? you got jokes LOL

    peace

    madjef

  • nice beat... good shit... check out my beats on my page if u get a chance

  • wolf7988, thanks for that. I like what you doing over there. go get em Papa Wolf. holla back

    madjef

  • nice studio bro im using an mpc 3000,ensoniq eps 16 ts 12,fantom x, and some mo modules and shit.anyways deuce from Tx

  • seemose, I used to have that exact setup for a while, eps16 is the joint, mpc3000 is the best one they ever made. keep at brother.

    madjef

  • man im fucking up i got a mac book triton, mpc 2500 firepod

logic 8 sample moog.,... and i ain't been able to sync that shit up right yet.. im losing time...shit

  • tamojuan, here you go. set the triton up on one of the MPC2500 midi outs. if you want to use MPC as your main sequencer then you should be good. if you want the macbook to be your joint then you need a usb midi interface with seperate midi outs to mpc and triton, use the firepod as your audio interface. on Apple hd do a search for Audio/Midi setup, plug everthing in and the computer will help you sort it out.

    madjef

  • Good beats

  • macklingaum, what up dog. I'm doin me.

    peace

    madjef

  • This and the Pete Rock Makes A Beat vids are so inspiring.....No rules baby! gotta get me some GEAR!!!

  • clubhappybest, a laptop is all you need these days to get started. now get busy.

    one

    madjef

  • if you are in jersey, i provide the gear and if your beats are hot i put them in my album, non exclusively and i sell them so you can also make some money

logic, reason, fl, native instruments, controllers.

    ball in your court

  • BPS1307, I'm not in Jersey. But that ain't never stop me from doing business before. Your ball.

  • nah, that was meant for the club happy dude, not for you, you obviously don't need it. Still balling

  • BPS1307, its all good playa.

    madjef

  • لالالالالالا مليح للمليون لين خلاص

  • wuts up madjef. i've been producing for a lil while myself, but i've only been using fl studio 6. I like the program a lot, but i was wondering if you know any good VST's I could use because all the fl sounds are pretty robotic sounding. Thx.

  • all of native instruments are really good only thing is they are so widely used you might have to worry about tweaking them a lot and or filing them in with other sounds Guru is good to for drums

  • csmatuse, man these days there are so many to try, just use google download the demo's and see what you like.

    madjef

  • what do u recomend me to get what king of a nice LiL keyboard not too big that have all kinds of sounds help me out if u can , Respect for u thx for the reply

  • smokerr20, i'm currently not using anything with sounds, maybe somebody else here can answer the question.

    peace

  • korgs new m50 is really good lots of sounds that are on the m3 plus new ones in small package easy to move around and at a pretty low price for what your getting

  • Thanks djbigz. i will check em out

  • Absolutely, same feeling. Next to written word, I believe flying to be one of man's greatest achievements. However, & this probably goes for you, my 1 true passion is creating music. It's the ultimate art & the most awesome form of self expression. Your videos reminded me of that. THANK YOU! Especially 5min. into video 3. I've watched them many times. This industry needs more people like you. Whats really cool is that flying has some how inspired new ideas & directions to go musically.

  • VAPORTRAX, yep, music all the time. i'm in the lab at the moment. thanks for the feedback, i appreciate it. me, when i'm in the sky, i can kinda see my future, sounds like I'm bugging huh? LOL, seriously though I've made some real good plans while sitting on an airplane staring out the window into the great beyond. :) . stay up. good luck on that project.

    madjef

  • Yo...madjef. Just wanted to say your videos have brought me back to producing again. I was in the game for almost a decade in the electronica venue. I left the game about 5 years ago to go after my ultimate dream...airline pilot. I'm now a Captain at Continental Airlines. I came across your videos and I must say they've inspired me to get back into it. Been grinding for a year now producing a hiphop-industrial type vibe. Your message is positive & powerful. madprops to madjef! Peace bro

  • VAPORTRAX, what up Cap'n. dog, you flying airplanes. Yo, I love flying, the sky, looking at the earth down thru the clouds always makes me realize how powerful the creator is,and how intelligent man has become, big ups. that's heavy, you putting it down for real.

    madjef

  • thats what im saying but he's absolutely right, if you create your own shit you will get paid. so go haters hhuuraaa. fam stick to it.

  • Trackzshootatube, you understand son. thanks for the 2nd on that emotion.

    madjef

  • NICE BEAT...i have logic 8...i wanted to know how to add new synths, strings, basses etc. ive been lookin for websites but i cant find anything....do u kno how?

  • chaduce, really easy man. logic 8, just create an instrument track, open media bin window, click on a preset and that automatically loads itself as an instrument.

    madjef

  • Respect for u bro nice work , what is that lil kewboard called dawg just curious thx for the answers keep up the big work 1 !

  • smokerr20, thanks for watching. yo that keyboard is really only a controller. I use it primarily to trigger software synths.

    madjef

  • The drums and bass are great. From there on you got it all wrong

  • sikkaboy, cool, but how do you know i got it wrong, its all original, maybe, just maybe, that's the way i heard it. i'm just saying. holla

    madjef

  • nice beat my man, check the vids

  • Emperorbeats, thanks, nice work, keep plugging.

    madjef

  • hey...you're so good :)...what program use? FL Studio? Acid? Reason? :)

  • logic

  • bdw91, thanks for that. fingflava is correct i do use logic, but also Pro tools, Reason, Albelton Live, whatever works.

    madjef

    madjef

  • it wasnt meant to be a diss, lol

  • nickdj61789, I didnt take it as one. I jus kidddiiiinngggg.

    peace

  • This is pretty excellent, but I have to admit, it'd be interesting to see him pick up an electric guitar and/or a bass. Just to see what he comes up with. I wonder why that wasn't included in the making of this?

  • Music8819, I play a little guitar from time to time, check out Madjef Making a Beat 3, got a little riddem guitar thing going on. Peace

  • Basically people need to stop looking at what other producers are using and hyping it up because it's bullshit. It doesn't really matter if you are into Logic, Cubase, Reason or whether you stick to your MPC or Miko Neko whatever the fuck. It's about how you use the tools and how you like to work. A big producer can make a big tune on almost anything, fuckin casio keyboard and pots and pans.

The worst is how everyone sucks pro-tools, it's bullshit for producing. stick to cubase/logic.

  • 2007TypeR, you right, I used to only use an MPC, I've been using Logic since it was called Notator on Atari St. Sometimes, my best ideas come from an acoustic guitar. I gotta try that pots and pans idea though. LOL. Be cool my dude. Big ups

  • Haha, I find a nice aluminium pot hit with a big wooden spoon gives me a fat sound to put underneath a snare. LOL. Keep making beats!

  • Listen to the man!

  • producer4real, i'm glad you said that. madjef

  • Yeah it has been a minute what up my nigg, man u was the reason I started using logic, lol and Im never using nothing else!!!!!

  • smackdee, chilling, you know how it is.
