  • overrated..... JMO.

  • pixar's greatest work since Toy Story IMO.

  • wall-e kicks transformers ass.

  • wall - e made me cry at the end

  • Wall-E is kinda boring

and the first film to do moral overkill (as Spill.com points out in their review of this film)

  • @Kitsuneranger No offense.

But I think it's kind of a good idea, if you stop being insanely shallow and jerking off too much

  • @masterofjungle what? o_O

  • i love this movie. but what's ironic is that the humans are too lazy because machines are doing all the physical job. This message coming from a company steve jobs owned.

  • "So beautifully done, they always do it at Pixar."

    Then came Cars 2...

  • @CrazyRsQuester What do you mean that film doesn`t exist, lalalaalalalala!!!!!!

  • My sister's found the movie was boring, I agree that the first half of the film is boring but the second half is great. I found it very insightful of how humans are getting lazier as technology is getting more advanced.

  • Ebert is so tasteless and ugly, who would seek his opinion?

  • One of PIxar's best films, IMO. Granted, Pixar has managed to churn out hit after hit with their films, but this is definitely something special.

  • This movie was great. Looking at people today, I can honestly see this blobby future of lazy morons doing nothing.

  • Wall-E Reminds me of R.O.B the Robot and Eve kinda looks like a Wii accessory

  • Another amazing work of Pixar

  • One of the few movies to make me cry.

  • My thoughts: Definitely Pixar's weakest movie, but still enjoyable.

  • Thoughts about this movie:

Not Pixar's best film, but still very enjoyable.

  • i lov how this message is brought to us by disney the king of merchendising

  • Wall-E has the same body and head as E.T.

  • True Story: The theater I went to, in the half an hour before the talking happened, there was not a sound, in a room packed with young children, perhaps 3 to 5 or a little older, NO NOISE. Truly the greatest crowd I had to one of the finest movies I've seen.

  • Wall-e is Pixar's greatest masterpiece hands down.

  • @BRITDKLOTR Id have to say Finding Nemo or the original toy story are better films :)

  • @BRITDKLOTR i had almost lost faith in disney till recently

  • @BRITDKLOTR, This movie was good but sorry man, NOTHING can beat Toy Story.

  • @guy2008rules Finding Nemo did.

  • It didn't have an emotional punch like Nemo?

Cmon, nothing is stronger than robot love.

  • I disagree entirely about the shift of the movie. I think the movie gets a free pass as being artistic due to the first 30 minutes being largely without audio. I disagree, I think the movie is artistically a bit lit compared with Pixar's previous offering Ratatouille. However, there is a lot of charm and humor in the first 30 minutes that the rest of movie doesn't come close to matching. Far from being enhanced from the beginning, the rest of the movie drags in contrast.

  • Johnny Five and HAL 9000 rip off.

  • @boamuro it was'nt a rip off, pixar was paying homage to stanley kubrick

  • im 24 and my 10 year old neice took me to see this i was like okay i guess so i have nothing better to do i went to see it wow just an all around great film

  • I knew I couldn't be the only one who saw the 'Omega Man' in WALL-E! EVE is more the Charlton Heston type, though. XD Andrew Stanton is a creative mastermind! Only an artistic genius would think to combine Buster Keaton with Aldous Huxley. The message of the MOvie is actually not anti-technology (as we see at the end, it's about reconciliation of technology and nature) nor is it anti-consumer (only anti-purposeless consumption) so much as it's about finding true purpose in life.

  • Is Ebert there?

  • @DisneyClassicmusic Ebert was having problems with cancer, so Michael Phillips often came in instead

  • the masterpiece of pixar

  • This film is right up there with my favorite animated films. It's beautiful. Every little detail and sound in this movie is great. Plus i like the Hal 9000 reference.

  • @Videot01 Technically, The roach Hal was cleverly named after Hal Roach, an epic film director from the silent era. Though Auto is kinda HAL-like except whereas HAL experiences a state of artificial schizophrenia from being given conflicting instructions (a logical being can't be made to lie), Auto is just a putz with no free will whatsoever. Auto and his Axiom goonsquad also the perfect embodiment of a socialist welfare state, so it seems Stanton was criticizing both socialism & consumerism.

  • i wish roeper had stayed. ao scott sux :S

    philipps is cool though.

  • WALL•E (2008) - A Outstanding

  • ha! i am legend for the juice box crew

  • I just about experienced every emotion watching this film except maybe hate.

  • Loved the movie, Eve and Wall-E are adorable together. Even though Eve looks like the Wii's version of R.O.B. and Wall-E looks like...an super retro version of R.O.B.

  • This is my favorite Pixar film.

  • A crime this movie wasn't nominated for best picture.

  • I wish even half of live action love-stories were this touching.

  • @villeppi

I thought 500 days of summer was touching.

  • It's amazing to me how powerful a movie can be with almost no dialogue what so ever. It was kind of like watching toy story for the first time I had a feeling of amazement and awe

  • How novel, a film that is good without fart jokes, obnoxious characters and explosions.

  • My favourite Pixar film.

  • This and UP are the best Pixar movies.

  • Whats really incredible about Walle is the subliminal message given about the fate of the earth wasn't even intended by the director/writer as such. I truly thought it was brilliant. ^^

  • What happened to Ebert?

  • i dont know exactly what happened, but long story short he lost his voice and now has a permanent smile

    hes still writing reviews though

  • Roger Ebert had throat cancer and surgery left him disfigured and unable to speak. His mind still works fine and thus he is still reviewing films albeit in a written way rather than verbal.

  • The 1st half of the movie on earth is amazing

The 2nd in the ship with the humans is not that great

  • It was the name of the show.

  • Dude, I LOVED Wall-E. It didn't seem AT ALL like a Nick Jr special. It serves a great message about Earth and friendship and it's non-stop entertaining throughout. It's my favorite movie of 2008.

  • I actually had a hard time liking Wall-E. I know I'm in the minority here, but there was something about the film that rubbed me the wrong way. No, it wasn't the dialogue-free opening; That worked pretty well. What bothered me was the people on the station. We went from seeing thin live-action versions of the passengers from the B&L ad to see fat animated versions of the same passengers on the ship. It just really put me off.

  • I did find that kind of...awkward, if you know what I mean. I still enjoyed the movie, however.

  • @ filmdude 2001, I respect your opinion and such, but the reason that the animated versions were fat is because the BnL corporation ad was way back in the past before they got on the ship. when they all did, and never came back to earth, they suffered from severe bone loss and that caused them to become morbidly obese. I personally thought it was brilliant, but I still respect your opinion.

  • I saw WALL-E in the theater for the first time and wasn't sure what to think of it. Luckily I bought it and watched it again and with each viewing I've grown to love it. Its sweet, innocent, funny, and nostalgic and great fun for sci-fi fans. Plus Andrew Stanton is one of my favorite all time directiors. Finding Nemo and WALL-E rule!

  • I Am Legend for the 'Juicebox gang" lmao

  • stop saying "Wall" and then "E!!!" It's pronounced like "Wally"

  • I am a 16 year old boy who loves action films and horror. I went to see this film not expecting much. WOO I was wrong. I loved this film so much, I will not predict what films will be like before I see them from now on.

  • It's called not judging a book by it's cover. The fact that you ever thought that was credible way of analysing something is a bit despicable if you don't mind me saying. :)

  • Thats why I don't bother with previews anymore.

  • @mr1mills It's Pixar, why would you expect anything less than perfection?

  • Comment removed

  • I enjoyed WALL-E very much!

    4/4 stars! YEAH!!!

  • What I love about WALL-E is the subtle irony. The robots have a ton of personality, while the people's lives are very robotic.

  • @AgentAJD Like 2001: A Space Odyssey.

  • @AgentAJD Indeed very Kubrick-like.

  • I am Legend for the juice box gang... lol

  • Oo anyone see Titan A.E. ?????

  • Comment removed

  • Roeper is completely wrong when he says that kids will be jumping up and down seeing Wall-E. I saw it in cinema and there were a lot of kids there, but they weren't jumping up and down. They just sat there comepletely quiet, with their jaws on the floor, being overwhelmed by the visuals and the charm of the movie. It is a fantastic movie. 5/5 stars

  • He left the show due to cancer so Phillips replaced him.

  • Is he okay now?

  • He's cancer-free, but sadly, he had surgery on his jaw and now he can't talk anymore :(

  • you're kidding right?

  • Sadly, I am not.

  • Damn...that's horrible.

  • Oh my! I loved him and looked forward to his reviews! :(

  • noooooooooooooooooooooo

  • 3:05 What? Not as emotionally punching as Finding Nemo? Are you kidding me? It's about equal or more, just in a different way.

  • That's what he means. That it isn't as formulaic as the other pixar films where there's an exact point where the movie wants you to feel something.

  • This movie reminds me of three things:

    1. the way the Battlestar Galactica crew cant hold a camera straight (In a good way)

    2. Wait, the awesome CGI reminds me of NOTHING because its the best.

    3. Wait, the love story also reminds me of NOTHING because its the best love story since....nothing. its just the best.

  • wall e was amazeing!!!!

  • Its 700 hundred im watching th movie now(mabe they changed it after this was made)

  • it's 700 years since humans left earth but when they play the top secret message from the ceo of BnL the date says 2110, which is ~100 years from now. so the total time from now to the time the movie takes place is 800.

  • Yes but that message was sent after the humans left

  • As a Browncoat, a Fan of Joss Whedon's "Firefly" and "Serenity", I found a lot to love in WALL*E. The CGI effects are very similar to the ground-breaking way Firefly was filmed; The Hand-held Camera Effect, catching the shot late or slightly off-kilter, adjusting focus late (the shopping cart scene)... all Firefly/Serenity techniques. And the plot! "Earth that was could not sustain us, we were so messy" lol. And... "Have you ever BEEN with a warrior woman?" lol. All familiar to Firefly Fans. :o)

  • I think BGS predates Firefly with those techniques.

  • Sorry but No, Harlequin;

Actually, the company that did the effects for firefly did the effects for BSG... several years after Firefly's 10-Episode run. In fact, there's a scene in the BSG Pilot where you get a brief look at Serenity! :)

  • wow. that's so cute and awesome. I've rented it before. and it was so cool. i laughed my rear-end off when i was watching this movie. I Think This Movie, ROCKS!!.

  • Completely agree, first 30 minutes was a peak in movie-art in all areas.

  • That guy was a fcking retard it wasnt 800 years it was 700 go watch the movie u fcking prick!

  • 100 year future + 700 year collect rubbish = 800 year. understood? -dont leave so ridiculous kiddie comments.

  • burn in hell

  • Thats to prefontaine555

  • Both of you are deaf. He was talking about a sequel set 800 years further into the future.

  • that was an AWESOME movie, i cried, laughed, and choked on my soft drink T_T it was great im going to watching it again on DVD :D

  • i want a real eve...

  • I want a real WALL•E

  • I want both

  • comic book movies seemed to have taken over theatres this summer, which was pretty kickass!! I watched The Dark Knight, Incredible Hulk, Ironman, Hellboy2, and The Dark Knight again lol

  • This, The Dark Knight and Hellboy II are best movies of the year

  • I went to see this movie because my little brother wanted to see it... And I was completely stunned. Really, I went out from the cinema afterwards with a smile!

  • Not as 'emotional' as Finding Nemo? What are you nuts?? I didn't cry in Finding Nemo - I was a water works in Wall-E. It was a million times more emotional than Finding Nemo.

  • I'm a 19 year old...jock male, as I'm called on the internet...and I walked out of Wall-E crying my eyes out.

  • yeh i am 24 year old bloke and i was finding it hard not to choke up a few times, especially the ending.

  • is ebert ever coming back?

  • I missed the review on TV. Thank you for this video!=D

  • That's Michael Phillips, not Ebert.

  • WAll E is thge best movie i have watched from a pixar studio, it's good and so touching

  • there will be another film like nemo

  • you mean newt?

  • huh?

  • you said there is going to be another film like nemo, I found a new one called newt about a newt

  • what's a newt?

  • its a lizard

  • It's an amphibean that LOOKS like a lizard :)

  • Little bonde girl in Aliens!!

  • thanks for giving away the whole story. ive never seen this movie yet.

  • Here's the reason this review is terrible... IT GIVES AWAY THE BIGGEST SURPRISE IN THE FILM! The story was kept secret even in the trailers! But noooooooooo Lets give away the whole movie in three minutes... what a bunch of dicks.

  • EVE is pretty cute. Like an i-pod.

Why hasn't anyone talked about the references to 2001 Space Odyssey?

  • Well, not sure, maybe they didn't like it :P?

  • "doesn't have the emotional punch of Finding Nemo" "Corny romance".

I couldn't disagree more. This is one of the greatest love stories I've ever seen, and defiantly my favourite Pixar movie.

  • Amen to that, bersaba.

  • i like walle so much as soon as it comes out on dvd im getting it that second

  • If the whole movie embodied itself into a person, i would marry her. i love this movie. and i hate people who hate it, retards. This movie is my all time favorite movie- so far...

  • Amen to that!

  • Beautiful movie, the beginning is a bit bare for kids though, I was mesmerized by it all throughout but when I showed my younger cousins they had a hard time staying still with very little action on the screen in the end though they were completely hooked.

  • "The kids" this, "the kids" that. God, when are people ever going to realize that animation isn't solely kid's stuff? Apparently something can't be rated G and be sophisticated at the same time. Hopefully this movie starts to change people's perceptions about the medium...

  • that is true but the majority of people attracted to this kind of movie will most likely be a younger person. i know some older ones still enjoy them but im 17 and ive already grown tired of animations

  • But that's exactly the thing, why should anyone get tired of animation? No one gets tired of live-action, so why should animation be any different? Because people perceive it to be something you should grow out of, not something to continually embrace. Although maybe it's just the animator in me wanting people to respect the extremely hard work that goes into making these things for everyone. :\

  • that's sad. maybe you'll grow to like it again when you get older.

  • Actually, no. Animation is growing in popularity amongst all age groups. Finally mainstream America is catching up with that idea. Show someone Elfen Lied[heads decapitated, nuditity, limbs ripping apart, blood spurtting everwhere, much like a goreish horror movie, all in the first ten minutes]and they'll be quite disillusioned of the innocent facade animation has pulled off due to mainstream ideals.

Keep your mind open. Flip from Disney Channel to Adult Swim late at night.

  • well we all have our opinions

  • WALL-E is a beautiful movie

I cried twice watching this movie. One where WALL-E loses his memory and emotions. And I cried again because the movie was such a beautiful masterpiece.

  • that first clip you used, Wall-E escaping to pod at the last second, i remember at the movie thinking "Fake Climax!"

  • im sorry, the first clip "they" used

  • well they were wrong again my little cousins who are 4 and 2 loved wall-e I think they liked this movie more than finding nemo i know I did

  • Yup, my little brother liked this better than the Incredibles.

  • WALLL EEEE LOVES EEEEE VAH

LOVED IT! Score is great by Randy Newman and so is the inspired music on itunes. Best songs are "WALL E AND EVE" and

    "Signs of Life"

  • It's not Randy Newman, it's Thomas Newman.

  • e-va wall-e rule-e

  • Corny romance? More like your show's theme music coming in and out of the clip is Corny LOL. XD I agree with most of what they say but they seemed to underestimate the power hold this movie has on children. The movie showings I went to were packed with kids and they were Silent the whole way through.

  • Wall*E is a beautiful movie with wonderful animation, fantastic storytelling and terrific chemistry between Wall*E and EVE. It's pixar at it's best.

  • Disney didnt buy pixar. Pixar got a 5 movie contract deal with disney thats why they make so many movies with them.

  • what happened to thumbs up/thumbs down?

Pixar does it again...hopefully Disney doesn't buy them out

  • disney does own them...

    read the news.

  • Umm... Disney did.

  • I believe that was removed for some kind of legal problem about the thumbs thing... I don't know all the story

  • Wall-E rock. I love it so much.

  • This movie will be a classic.

  • WALL-eeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I WANT MY EBERTTT!

  • it was great, very emotional. the animation is unreal.

  • You should have just gone to see Hancock instead, I heard its more for the 'moron' type.

  • Great movie indeed

  • OMG all the people ate FAT !!!!! o.0

  • They got fat because they never got up from the hover chair things in their entire time on the ship... (Over five years...)

  • well the "real" reason why they got fat was because space made their bones smaller and masses bigger
